I see a different story with these kind of patients.

Patients who are Norwood 5 or more should start with a strip.

 

FUE surgeons can not achieve results of strip surgeons.

Surgeons who can do both have a great advantage.

I agree with you concerning the strip for high Norwood people : starting with the strip method obviously offers more possibility later.

Now I can't agree when you oppose 'FUE surgeons' results, and 'FUT surgeons' results. Some very good FUE surgeons have shown ability to have incredible results, even on high Norwood, by only using FUE method. In Europe, Drs Koray Erdogan, Lupenzula, Feriduni are 3 of them... (though Feriduni still practice FUT sometimes). But of course, you have to pay quite a high price for it.

I'm not sure I understood what you mean by 'mini FUE' . Is that the English name to say that you won't need to shave your head before the surgery, so you can keep long hair around ? If that's it, I've riden many threads on the main French forum, patients were able to get this procedure in different european countries, like Belgium or Swizerland. I know Dr Devroye and Dr Lupanzula can do this, and they are probably other ones. You have to meet the doctors and check this with them.

I think a surgeon is far better targeting a smaller area with 4000 grafts on higher Norwood patients

instead of trying to spread them over the entire surface area as coverage is just too light in my opinion. I have seen some recommended surgeons do it and I question their reasoning for it.

Dr Maras should have just tried to hit the frontal to midsection in one surgery and then target another area with a second surgery and possibly reinforce the first surgery if necessary. A transplanted crown alone can eat up a high percentage of a donor supply and look thin.

I agree with what "Chrisdav" says about the target of a 1st FUE when you start FUE once you've reached a high Norwood : The surgeon definetly knows it will need at least 2 surgeries to get a good result. Why don't they hit one area , then the other later, to get a good density ? I suppose the question is about the "natural result" for patients when going back to work, and the pressure of patients. We all dream of having the best covering result on our entire head, right after the 1st FUE.

"Another" I suppose Dr Maral told you that you would need a 2nd surgery one year later, as I've shared the clinic with 2 guys with very high Norwood, and Dr Maral told them in front of me that they had to come back for a 2nd surgery one year later, to be really satisfied. However your frontside looks much better now than it was... That might be a good point for you when you look in the mirror every morning, and give you much self confidence.

I would finally say objectively, after reading many posts from Maral's patients, that Maral's klinik gives much better results for people coming with a Norwood from 2 to 4, more than people with Norwood 6 / 7... what sounds actually normal. lol

My recipient area has been having pimples all over it since... hmm.. i'd say 10-14 days. Most of the times I can pop them but after that there's a bit of bleeding and the area is a bit sore for a couple of days, so I don't know if its really worth popping them or if I should just wait their natural healing process.

 

My scalp on the whole head (sides included, which have not been touched by either harvesting or transplantation) has been dry and flaky, so I wonder if I should start using a moisturizing/hydratating/lenitive/idontevenknow gel to avoid this. I wonder if it might be also caused by spring/stress/hormones/foods habits.

 

 

 

Edit: I also have to say... and its my fault, I'm touching the area a lot. Its a bad habit, I know, I'm working on it. I should probably stop because even if clean hands will always carry bacteria and dust on them and, when popping the zits, it creates a micro wound on the scalp, which might bet infected. So yeah I'll try to touch my head as less than possible.

Though it's difficult, you have to leave this alone for 2 more months. I've been through the same process, believe me, if you keep cool and do your best not to touch spots or infect any area there, and care with good products, in 2 months you'll really be OK. I'm at D+4 months now, this has been turning out really great this last month, I'll do my updtae next week, that may help you to keep calm and confident... and to shut llvlludassar / Roimirka 's mouth, as my result is coming really good. HI... Discovering your thread, that's great cause I feel like I'm back 3 months ago. It was a very close experience to yours, except for your eyes... impressive last pics ! lol . Don't worry it will disappear very soon. I could recommend you to use ALL the package he gave you like I had, till the end of them. Medecines AND lotion ( I think he was advising to use it a few days , I actually used the lotion about 15 days, letting it on my head 1 hour each day before shampoo, and that probably helped me to have a fast healing, and no more marks at all today. )

I wish you all the best, there's no reason that goes wrong, there was only 1 very special case who seemed not to work on this site, all other Maral's patients look satisfied until then.

Hi . I'm looking to your new pictures... That looks good but I personnally like better when your hair is short, it gives a denser impression to me. Are you sure it's a good idea to stop rogain / minoxydil...? Be careful with this, it could really not help to have thick hair with good density, and make some of your hair getting thinner and falling again... Once you use Rogain, you should unfortunatly use it till the end of your life, if you want to keep the results ! Thanks again for your thread that helped me to go with Dr Maral as well 2 1/2 months ago, until then I'm satisfied
