I used the ARTAS
Punch used was 0.9
Cost was reasonable considering the goin market for FUE
Check out my other posts regarding my procedure

I have spoken recently with both Janna and Dr Paul Shapiro and can confirm they no longer use the ARTAS.
1550 FUE w/ the ARTAS at SMG
June 2013

*Update for 16 months/ SMG 1550 FUE * So far nothing has changed in the past few months. If anything my results seem to be worse as the months progress. Very disappointed and frustrated by this experience not only by the results but as well as with SMG and the professionalism or lack thereof they displayed. Not once have I received a phone call from Dr Paul discussing my case which surprises me due to all the positive reviews I read leading up to my procedure with the clinic and the communication between myself and my "rep" has been a disaster so much that my case apparently has been reassigned to Janna which has been the one bright spot in all of this. She reached out to me to based on my concerns and we are currently in the process of determining a solution based on the agreement on both sides that the procedure was deemed unsuccessful. I will post some pictures soon but at this point I'm looking at moving forward and as to what my next move will be. I have received alot of advice throughout this experience and I'm always open to hear what others have to say or add. Also big thanks goes out to the leaders of The Hair Restoration Network for creating this site to make things easier for all of us going through this difficult journey.

How about be in perfect physical shape and no hair or be obese with Brad Pitt hair.

Lorenzo shows video results with all different types of angles and views. He uses a comb to show density and fullness. He might be a little more expensive then others but its hard to argue with his video results. He has changed my mind on who I may choose now for my 2nd procedure after my failed first HT. Id rather pay a little more this time around rather then waste another 10gs on nothing. Dont let distance or price be your only deciding factors. You will regret it after.

Ive experienced the same brain fog every now and then throughout the last few years. Didnt even think about it being caused from Finasteride and Propecia but makes me wonder now.

Looks great! Iam planning another FUE procedure in the near future possibly with Dr. Lorenzo after having a failed result the first time with another clinic. Hope I can get some great results like you! Thanks for the updates

Congrats Troy on HT 2. Did you use SMG for your first procedure and any info or pics from that ? Lookin forward to your updates.

I was looking into a future procedure with him as well and they told me the same thing which I thought was odd. Do they expect you to bring thousands of dollars of cash across the world with you in your pockets?
-
No i dont mind. Thank you both for your advice and opinions. So basicaly what your both saying is I should wait for now and see how my hairloss progresses, is that correct?

Question, Your right, I believe the ARTAS is proving to be not as successful as first desired and I wish I would have made different decisions regarding moving forward with it however the past is the past and all I can do now is look to the future and research as to what decisons I make next regarding my 2nd HT. I think the major issue were (ARTAS patients) having is not only the fact that we received poor results from the procedure but that somehow these poor results are being twisted around into reasons why it was not a failed HT, but because of other reasons not related to the actual transplant itself such as slow growth, native hair falling out, lack of medications, way we comb our hair, and so on to take the actual focus off the ARTAS procedure. Interesting you say 3500 grafts is too much as Demirsoy estimated 3000 and Erdogan 4000 and from my reaearch Ive come to understand that both doctors appear to have great reputations and the highest of ethical standards.

Waazam, my one year post op with SMG was and still is being evaluated on the photos I sent to Matt through email. I told him I didnt like the way things had turned out and that I expected alot more from the procedure. He wanted to see more photos which I sent and we have not spoken again yet which was about two weeks ago. But in relation to Ash, his tone and attitude was the same in regards to why my HT was not a failure and that my expectations were higher then what the reality of what hair transplants actually accomplish and I think we finally agreed to disagree until we speak again regarding the new photos I sent him. The last 13 months has been complete frustration and dissapointment and like Ash already has mentioned, SMG has not made this difficult process any easier at all. Again as mentioned in my personal thread, this is not a put down or in any way an excuse to dog SMG, Iam only stating 100 % facts and true statements. Im here for others as well as myself to help better understand the reason why our HT's were not a success.
-
All i told ash was that I pretty much had the same experience when dealing with SMG. I wanted to be discrete for now as Im in still in the middle of discussions with Matt but any questions or info I can assist anybody with I will, as Iam here to to tell the full truth regarding my experience before during and after. I have a thread that I have mentioned most of this on as well.

Ash whats your email. I tried dm you but its not working. I had the same experience as you and wouldime to talk to you more privately about it. Thank you.

Well its been a year since my 1550 FUE procedure with Dr. Shapiro and the SMG group. Nothing drastically has changed in the last few months. If anything I continue to thin more and more as time goes on. I was hoping for much more with this procedure however it was only 1550 grafts. Iam hoping to get into the SMG office for a year post op eval soon as Iam interested to hear what they have to say. Im already planning another procedure. This time Im going to head overseas to Turkey and go with Dr. Erdogan or Dr. Demirsoy. Both doctors have quoted me an estimated 3500 grafts. Below I have attached the link to my new picture album. I will add some more in the following days.

Looks great already Denny. Im planning to have my next HT with Dr. Edrogan so its always reassuring when I see results like this.
-
Scooter, do you remember what Dr. Arochas prices regarding FUE are? I cant seem to find any info on them. Thanks.
-
Thanks. Cant wait to see them

Do you have any pics you can post Phoenix or links to the office that did yours?

Nocole, so are you saying that your initial SMP services last a year and then you reccomend touch ups going forward. Im just trying to figure out much time 2400 dollars worth of SMP lasts. Thank you.

What about financing options for patients coming from other countries such as myself from the united states. Ive emailed your team regarding this and still have not received any response. Thank you

It can be a very difficult thing. My gf at the time noticed I had been hiding something and actually thought I was cheating on her! Ha! So I had to tell her that I wasnt sneaking around calling other girls but actually Doctor offices lol. At first she didnt understand why I had been hiding it but eventually she saw my view and was supportive. Hopefully your fiance understands this is something that is important to you and will make you happy.

Denny, how did you pay for the procedure? I recently contacted Dr. Erdogans office regarding having my next procedure done with him and he said I would need approximately 4000 FUE as you had. Just wondering if they offer financing or other ways to make payments rather then the full amount at the time of surgery.
