  1. ^^lol I hear ya. He did say that I would probably be good for 2 surgeries which would give me a total of 5000 grafts
  2. Hi, does anyone here have any experience using Proscar while taking anabolic steroids? It was my understanding that the Proscar would aid against hair loss while using. I asked a well known hair surgeon about this and he stated that Proscar would not be effective while on steroids. I respect his opinion but I've heard thru countless people that it halted their hair loss while using.
  3. Hi, thanks for the reply it was very helpful. I'm on a tablet and for some reason I cant use the search feature. I also contacted Dr Rassman, he suggested I try Proscar with Rogaine for a year before I go thru with surgery. I'm anxious to have more hair, but I think waiting a year may be a good idea.
  4. Hi, I am considering a few surgeons in California for a hair transplant. One is Dr Meshkin. He is very affordable and is recommended by this site, however he is not a coalition member. Can someone point me to some reviews of Dr Meshkin?
  5. Dr Meshkins patient results almost appear to good to be true. However if he can give those type of results with those graft counts im sold
  6. I also contacted Dr Williams, Dr DeYarman and Dr Rassman. I sent them my pics and will see what they recommend
  7. I emailed Dr Meshkin and he put me in the NW5 category and said he could harvest 3000 grafts after seeing my pics. He charges 2.50 per graft during February. He seems to want me to book a surgery which is a red flag imo.Anyone heard about Meshkin? I can get 3000 grafts for 7500.00 compared to 2400 grafts for 8400.00 at Dr Carmens
  8. I also agree that 2400 grafts is not a huge amount but im not looking for total coverage. I mainly just want the hair on the very top middle part of my head right behind the hairline so it looks fuller from the front.
  9. He didnt specify if it was my lifetime supply. I actually just asked him via email to clarify, im awaiting his response. Yes ive thought about not being able to shave the head if need be. There is alot to consider. FUT would be the best route I think but the cost is so high
  10. Thanks for the kind words GoForit. I realize ill never have a full head of hair again but from what I see I think 2400 grafts would make a decent improvement. I think I will consult a few more surgeons. As of now im currently not on fin, I just got the prescription so im hoping starting that will make some progress as well. Im using Rogaine as well.
  11. I searched the forum and found some pretty positive results of NW6 procedures done in the 2 to 3k graft range. Granted they didnt get full coverage but they look much better. Im hoping that I can acheive the same promising results by concentrating more on the frontal part of my head.
  12. To be honest id prefer to stay in the states. My goal is to bridge the gap between the two sides and have a fuller frontal appearance. Im not going for full coverage so the crown can remain the same. Im just curious if a 2400 graft procedure is worth it for my expectations
  13. The doctor I went to was Tim Carmen in La Jolla Ca. He is who I am considering at this point.
  14. Im 32 and just started taking Propecia along with Rogaine. My goal is to reinforce the frontal third. Im ok with having a thin crown. Im going the fut route because the price of fue is really high
  15. Im actually not going for full coverage I just want the frontal part thicker, the crown would be left as is
  16. That is the max he said he could harvest using fut
  17. Hi, I recently visited one of the recommended surgeons from here and he put me in the NW6 category. Im not completely bald on top I still have visible hair up there but it is thin. He told me he could harvest 2400 grafts from my donor area. My question is 2400 grafts going to make a significant difference? Hopefully my picture uploads
  18. Hi, 31 yo caucasian male here with hairloss between a nw4 and 5. Ive recently been contacting clinics and so far I have heard back from , Diep, Umar, Deyarman, and Hasson&Wong. I believe I will be a better candidate for fut considering amount of grafts and cost. I would prefer fue considering its less invasive, however, considering my circumstances I am fine with fut. So here are my concerns. I really like what ive heard about H&W and I am really leaning towards them. The only problem is I live in california and would only be able to send photos for them to evaluate. I understand that it is best to see the doc in person before choosing however that is not really an option for me. Diep has contacted me twice and has a consultation office near where I live. Should I visit him and possibly several other clinics to hear their recommendations? The fact that Diep has contacted me twice is kind of a red flag to me. When I first started my ht search, I had la jolla hair clinic in mind but I have contacted them twice and have not heard back. From what I read here it seems I cant go wrong with H&W, but im concerned about not being able to go there in person first. What are your thoughts? Thanks
  19. Its been said that hasson&wong are reasonably price which may be true, however I can have a 4000 graft procedure performed by dr Tim Carman for around 12000 dollars. It would cost me around 16000 at Hasson&Wong. This is according to their online price chart. I really like the positive enthusiasm behind h&w but I also have a price limit.
  20. I see h&w all over this forum, are they that good or can I expect similar results here in ca? I prefer to go with a megasession, I believe I wil need anywhere from 3 to 4k grafts. Who does megasessions in ca? I would be willing to travel but you would think the surgeons in ca would be top notch considering hollywood and all.
  21. Hi need some advice on choosing the right surgeon. I am in the infancy stage of research and just curious the best way to choose a surgeon. I live in california and will most likely have the procedure done there. There are quite a few of recommended surgeons on this site. I would assume they all are reputable as well. So how do I choose one? Im a 31 yo Caucasian male nw4 or 5 not real sure. As far as the procedure being fut vs fue I have not decided and will most likely wait for the drs advice. Ive had dr Reed in mind for awhile, however he recently retired. So im considering carman as well. Ive contacted dr DIep however he seems to specialize in ethnic ht, not sure if that matters. Ive also contacted dr Deyarmen. Between the three ive only heard back from dr Diep thus far. I am actually considering all of the recommended surgeons in ca. Should I simply have consultations with each (phone consultation) and go with the one I feel most comfortable? They all seem to have decent reviews so choosing will not be so simple. Also I see Hasson&Wong mentioned quite often should I also consider them? It just seems pointless if I can get just as good results close to home. I plan on doing plenty of research and dont plan on the procedure till the beginning of next year, I just feel overwhelmed with all the options. Thanks, and sorry for the long post.
  22. Thanks i appreciate the help.
  23. I originally was considering reed. I guess thats not an option now. To be honest I have no clue who I want. I still haven't decided if I want strip or fue. And to be honest, I may not even be nw5, I still have a decent amount of hair no bald spots just very noticeable thinning. Minoxinil has not really done much good for me, thinking of trying propecia. Ive been contemplating a ht for several years, just haven't taken the plunge yet. Lil nervous about it. Ive seen good things and ive seen bad things, I dont want to end up regretting my ht.
  24. Yes it does thanks. So in your honest opinion, would I be satisfied with any of these doctors listed or does one on this list really stand out. Im not sure yet if ill be doing fue or strip procedure. Im 31 caucasian male with nw5 if that helps. Thanks
  25. Hi, I could be mistaken but I do not see dr reed on the coalition list, when I thought I had seen him on there before. The reason I ask is because I have mainly been considering dr reed for somtime now. I live in ca and from what ive seen he seems to do good work. Are there any othef ca surgeons that I should be considering. Ive also considered dr umar. Too be honest its hard to decide there are several ca surgeons on the list. I realize umar is not on the list however ive heard good things. Thanks
