  1. Yeh, let's take our advice from clinical trials which first of all show this as a known side effect. It's a FACT, get over it... Propecia can cause ED. It's time to realize its a risk you decided to accept and stop pretending like it doesn't exist. Not only that, it is known to be unreported, not only in the studies itself, but in general for any study. ED is something men generally are uncomfortable reporting.

Secondly you can go on a patient reviews sites where pretty much every drug is reviewed and see the disturbing difference in what the clinic trials show and what patients actually say. Saying patient reports don't matter is pretty stupid too. We should weigh everything and make educated choices. He made his and decided to warn people. They can read his point of view and others to make their own decision.

This is why we see so many drug lawsuits... Unreported side effects. Oh wait, that means they weren't mentioned in the drug side effects or maybe not even reported in the clinical trials... How could that happen??.

Also another reason why patient review sites will show different results is because they are LONG TERM. Clinic trials are often short or at most a couple years. Let's see how safe a drug is after 10-20 years. It makes a big difference. Yeah, right now you don't have any issues, but later maybe you will. Yes, it's not going to happen to everyone, but acting like you aren't taking a risk is just pure ignorance.

People are defensive about this drug, because they want to reassure themselves they are fine and safe. They are waiting for the drug company to do another study just to show it maybe has more side effects or a high incidence of them then was thought... Yeah like that's going to happen.

If I say a popular anti-fungal drug for example has a 1:10000 chance of giving you liver failure, would you say it's widely known as safe?? Hmmmm. So if I say you had a 1 or 100 or 1 in 20 chance (hypothetically) of experiencing impotence with propecia, would you also say it's safe? Safe that it might not kill you, but for those willing to risk never having sex again, I question their idea of safe.

Safe is a relative term. If someone wants to warn someone about a KNOWN side effect that is pretty much considered a FACT, then let them. If you want to disprove his argument with something intelligent other than some oh it's gotta be safe because the hot drug rep and pharma company said so then have at it.

We are a world of reviews.. We use reviews to buy products, evaluate services, etc., but when people have reviews about a drug, somehow it's not valid? Drug trials are so limited.

Do you know that I can run trial after trial with different samples of people until I get the results I want and then only publish the one that fits as long as the sample is statistically significant?

  2. That's gotta be heart breaking man... All the anticipation waiting for the operation, dealing with post op, the long wait month after month, and the cost. You gave up a year of your life and these guys kind of screwed you. Hopefully another surgeon can do a better job. I wonder if it's the surgeon or something unique about your physiology. I always see these situations though and another surgeon takes a crack at it and yield is fine.

  3. What about in the U.S.

I am reluctant to travel abroad and I know there are good surgeons here.

    Thanks

Canada is an easy flight and you don't need a visa. The flight is shorter in some cases. If you want to stay in the US go with Ron Shapiro. I go to see him in July. He teaches other dr's and really knows his stuff. His reputation is impecable and his work is awesome.

  4. Victor Hasson has the best hairlines in the world. Maybe Ron/Paul Shapiro. Ron and Paul's is harder to compare because their hairlines are usually so much more conservative. Feriduni is the best for FUE in my opinion. Rahal is very good as you mentioned.

  5. I would not agree that ED is very common, but anyway here is the FDA advice on changes to the labelling:

Questions and Answers: Finasteride Label Changes

Well it's way more common than what is reported in the clinical trials.. I think they say like 2% of people, but that is total bull. They also don't mention that is can be permanent. I personally like having sex more than I like having hair but understand why people take it. I've taken it in the past and while it didn't give me ED, it was killing my sex drive. Lots of horror stories about this drug.

  6. You`ll never gonna reflect about yourself, won`t you...

I'm glad I'm not the only who can see this guy is a total clown. You gotta laugh at his infantile attempts to correct your grammar when it is completely legitimate. I don't know what to make of someone who probably uses Google translate to read and write to this forum telling someone else they need an interpreter. I don't know if people mature really really slowly where he is from because I seriously feel like I'm reading posts from a third grader.

Where does anyone begin to point out the numerous flaws and fallacies in pretty much everything he says.

  7. I'm not sure if you are a little kid or just can't read or speak english. Perhaps you were sheltered as a child and never taught how to interact with other humans. It's real simple since you still don't have a clue... You could of just said thanks for the advice. Instead you chose to say something completely illogical... I'm not pissed, I just think you are an idiot who cant read or reason beyond 3rd grade level and explaining this to you equates to talking to a rock.

  8. It is indeed Shapiro. Dr. Ron Shapiro to be exact. Yeah I guess I should have stated that instead of assuming that everyone follows my hair transplant adventure!

Yeh both Ron and Paul are great, but mine is with Ron as well. You will be in the hands of a true master. I'm sure him and Matt Zupan would have the best advice on 7 vs. 10 days before the grafts are really sunk in.

  9. Well I can tell you from my own personal experience, that all my scabs were not gone until 14 days and in one case some lingered up to 21 days. On my last procedure I did more massaging and it definitely got rid of them quicker (and you should massage them gently after X days when washing but I was told not to by my first surgeon), but don't count on 7 days. They tell you that but everyone is different. Never been 7 days for me and I've had 5 procedures. You might be a quick healer. In any case your scalp will certainly still be red and have signs of a transplant. If you are ok with everyone knowing you've had a transplant, then no problem :).

I've seen some amazing healing so there are exceptions... A really great FUE surgeon can definitely make your recovery time very quick but a lot depends on you. I've always found around 23-25 days to be ideal to return to work and be able to hide the transplant. Since you can wear a hat, you got it made :).

  10. Don't be surprised if they start calling and spamming you. Their sales ppl are a little aggressive. Also if you don't find a surgeon you love in IL, don't be afraid to travel. I would look at Hair Transplants | Hair Transplant Surgery | Hasson & Wong. If the work doesn't compare then keep looking. Shapiro (http://www.shapiromedical.com) shouldn't be too far from you. He is probably top 3 in the US and my surgeon of choice. MN is a 9hr drive from IL if you are against flying.

  11. Most of the scars that get posted are good ones... Scars can easily be 1 inch tall... I have seen plenty of them. Having a good surgeon doesn't guarantee a good scar. Wide scars are especially common with younger patients. A good surgeon will tell you there is no guarantee. Also if you ever want to buzz you head, don't even think about strip. I think for people with major hair loss, strip is the way to go, but people can debate on that all day.

  12. Another thing to consider if you don't want to do anything that will raise your blood pressure. For the most part you want to be resting those 10 days if you can. But if you wait only 7 be very careful, go easy, and most importantly clear it with your surgeon.

As for working in the back with no hat on?? Have you seen post op photos :). You are a brave soul who is very comfortable with himself because you are going to expose your bloody scabbed freshly transplanted head to everyone you work with.
