  1. that doesn't quite make sense to me as dut is just a stronger version of fin! having said that im considering it now as ive been on fin for 10 months with no results...ill give it a few more months first though
  2. First off i'd have to agree with other posters and say your hairline looks fine. It just looks like a "mature hairline" Secondly, my temples/corners are significantly more receded than yours. Rather than the U/V shape you have mine looks more like the "horseshoe" pattern. Despite that I have my hair long and i think it covers it up quite nicely....My hair lengh in the front goes down to just above my eyebrows and pretty much covers most of my forehead. The only reason I can get away with this though (I think) is becasue 1) everywhere else my hair is still very thick, 2) I went to a decent hair salon where they cut it to account for the receded temples (ie. leaving it longer/layered on the corners i assume) But yeah, with your hairline dont worry, I think longer hair could definitely work for you even though as others have said you look good with it shaved as well!
  3. ah ok. i assumed you were referring to weight lifting as you were talking about body builders. I know BB use it (so do i) but weight lifting definitely has an impact on hormones whereas whey protein is just a supplement....any arguement regarding hair loss and whey protein should be around the chemicals used to make it. anyway my point still stands, the issue is not to find the cause, which we (almost certainly) know is due to DHT destroying hair of those genetically predisposed to MPB, but to see what can be done to slow down hair loss. Since people experience regrowth its definitely possible!
  4. Jobi - everyone knows working out does not cause hair loss....the question is does it accelerate hairloss and if so by how much. I'm pretty sure whey protein is not related to hair loss however
  5. IF you can convince your GP for a prescription (which I did) its only ?5 for 28 tablets, which is 4x28 days worth.
  6. Hi All, I've been on the big 3 for 9 months with receeding temples (probably NW2/3). For the first 4 months it seemed to be working as i was seeing short thin hairs on my temples, around 1-3cm long, which I assumed to be new hairs. I see a lot of people report this, however I don't see many ever saying these hairs eventually turned into terminal hairs....has this actually happened for anyone? I assumed these hairs were new hairs but I've now realised most of them were actually old hairs getting weaker as my temples have become slightly worse since, so i have a feeling many people might be mistaking these dying hairs with new hairs!
  7. Hi, I went through a very similar situation to you. I also have very thick hair and naturally had a high hairline with a slight curve at the hairline. This very gradually got worse until i was 22/23 and I started to realise I was actually losing some hair on the temples. I told parents/GP and they all had the same reaction as others on this thread as my hair looked like yours. So I decided to wait another year before going on any meds in case it really just was a mature hairline, hoping it would not get worse, but it did indeed get worse! I've now been on fin, minox and nizoral (the "big three") for around 9 months to try and stop the hairloss but to be honest it doesn't seem to be working for me! Perhaps I need to give it a few months more.... Anyway my point is that whilst your hair does look fine now as others are saying, you know your hair patterns better than anyone else, so I would keep a close eye on it as it may well get worse as mine has. At the same time, this may not be the case for you. The risk you take with going on medication now is never knowing for sure if it would have got worse without any (assuming the meds work for you) in which case you could be taking them for your whole life when you never needed any!
