Yes ejj, they are on my profile photo albums, as well as, Photo Albums. I have lots of close up photos from my first operation (from my hairdresser). But just a few self snaps from my second operation, though I will be seeing my hairdresser next week, so I'll post more then. Rob -

G'day mate, Regarding tips for cleaning the grafted area while showing... It is vital when shampooing or rinsing the transplanted area that you are gentle for the first 7 days. From day 3 onwards, you may begin gently washing the transplanted area using Dettol Antibacterial Handwash as a shampoo. Apply with a patting motion (DO NOT rub), then rinse off with indirect running water (eg pour a cup of warm water over the area to rinse, or partially block the flow of shower water so it is not subject to strong, direct pressure) - I use a cup, then put on a shower cap. Pat dry or allow to air dry - I use a hairdryer on low / cold setting. Then apply Minoxidil, and then at night after 20 minutes apply Aqueous Cream, and rinse out in the morning. You can be less gentle to the donor area... lift up the hair at the back of the head so the shower may irrigate the stitches. This is from Dr Jennifier Martinick's Post Operative Care notes. 5 days ago I had my second HR procedure with Dr Jennifer Martinick - once again, an awesome experience! Dr Jen was in great spirits, having recently returned back to Oz from the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery annual convention in the Bahamas which she headed as President. I was keen to add a further 2,000 grafts to the 3,600 grafts I had 16 months ago. Once again, Dr Jen was brilliant, and with the assistance of her great team, especially her new nurse Alice, the operation and my recovery has been a great success. No swelling, bleeding or infection after 5 days - check out my new album! And the bonus - Dr Jen gave me an extra 300 grafts (at no extra cost), on top of the extra 400 grafts (at no extra cost) last time! If you're an Aussie thinking about a HR procedure, don't waste your time and money going overseas, we have one of the best in the world here. Question for Proscar/Propecia users

I've been taking 1mg Propecia daily for about 15 years, since it was released in the late nineties, and have had absolutely no side effects. However, researchers have found minor side effects in approximately 5% of users, and this is well documented on-line. My HT surgeon has advised me finasteride remains in your system for a few days, so a 1mg dosage every two to three days is adequate. Reducing your dosage may help eliminate your side effects without hindering performance. Rob -
Medication doses post HR surgery

Thanks for that Tom. I understand it's not in the pharmaceutical companies financial interest to release research findings suggesting lower doses. Dr Martinick's vast experience and extensive research has found: - finasteride remains in your system for several days, hence 1mg two to three times a week is adequate, and - minoxidil is only effective short term. I'll continue to follow her advice, and if I notice any negative change slightly increase the dose. In the mean time, it would be great to hear from any of her learned colleagues in the Coalition who may have an opinion on this matter. Rob -
After my baptism of fire last week, I wish to focus on the original reason I joined this site. It’s not a controversial issue, so hopefully everyone can remain happy little vegemites. I also need to point out, I was not censored, but rather threatened with censorship. - “you are going to have to find somewhere else to post” - “you will no longer be allowed to post here” - “your next post will be your last one” - “why should I allow you to continue posting here” Anyway, back to the issue: Medication doses post HR surgery I may be a junior member on this site, however at 51 years old I’m a veteran hair loss sufferer. I’ve been taking Propecia 1mg every day for the last 15 years since it was released in the late nineties, and I’ve only been using 5% minoxidil once (not twice) a day since my HR surgery 16 months ago. I understand the drug industry has a vested interest in us continuing on the recommended doses indefinitely. But surely the dosage for us ever growing number of HR patients should be different? I’ve been advised we only need Propecia 1mg twice a week for life, and 5% minoxidil once a day for only 2 years post surgery. What have you guys been advised? Rob

Well my faceless friend Tommy, until you post some photos, it is you who lacks credibility! I will assume you are one of the site's Gatekeepers, bullying us new HR patients from Doctors other than the recommended Doctors who sponsor this site...Well I am not easily intimidated! I will continue to endorse Dr Jennifer Martinick because I will always be indedted to her great work. Rob

G'day from Oz to you Tommy (my faceless friend), I, like Tom139 and NewHaiRy, am a genuine 100% satisfied patient of Dr Jennifer Martinick, and wanting to share my legitimate HT experience. My before and after photos are on her web site if you would like to check them out. Unfortunately, it's members like you, who question if we are real patients of Dr Jen or merely affiliated with her clinic, that keeps me on this thread, and stops me from posting in other areas of this site to offer support and guidance to others thinking about taking the HT plunge. You have a cheek to question my authenticity, when you have not even posted 1 photo of yourself in the 9 months you have been a member - I, on the other hand, an active member for only a few days, have posted 41, including 10 more this morning of myself a few years before my operation, just to prove to you and everyone else on this site that I am a genuine HT patient. Furthermore, if I wasn't a 100% satisfied patient, I wouldn't be going back to Dr Jen in two weeks time for a further 2,000 grafts to my crown area. And for the record, I agree that Dr Path. is an excellent HT surgeon, afterall he was awarded the ISHRS 2010 Golden Follicle, and Dr Jennifer Martinick may have even presented the award to him in her capacity as President of ISHRS - incidently, she was awarded the ISHRS 2003 Platinum Follicle.
