  1. He is in Los Gatos? Thats 30 minutes from me!

I went to doctor Rosanelli recently and he was quite professional as well. Glad I know I have another quality HT doc to get an assessment from on my 3rd round.

Dr. Umar in SoCal will be getting a visit from me later as well, as ill be looking to do Beard hair grafts too. I dont think ill have a 8k donor area supply, so BHT will likely be a future.

  2. Thanks guys for the (honest) feedback.

I'll definitely be utilizing a last FUT for thickening up the hairline to mid scalp. I'll travel to Dr. Umar if I have to for BHT transplant to thicken up the remaining areas. I have a good neck beard so that works in my favor

  3. Well I have pretty fine hair and am a diffuse thinner.

I did 2200 grafts the first time around for the front 1/3 of my head. It gave me OK coverage but still fairly thin. The second surgery was for 2175 and covered hairline up to my ear range, so about 3/4 of my scalp (including temple)

My last surgery is approx around 1,750 grafts I'm guessing with scalp exercises. I'd use that to fill in the hairline in total and use beard hair possibly for crown OR scar repair as I have 2 FUT scars now.

  4. So I just had my second FUT. I was quoted with roughly 1,500-2,000 grafts remaining for a potential 3rd surgery. At this point, I have 2 FUT Scars. The second doctor made a new scar as he felt the first one was a bit too high to get the proper yield amount in the safe region.

So, if I get a 3rd surgery for say, 1,750, could I try and do FUE after the final strip?

I'm already considering doing beard (BHT) either into the scalp or scarline if needed.

Anyone have thoughts on this? What BHT for beard doctors are recommended for the US?

  5. Hey everyone,

I just finished up my second procedure and felt it went great.

I was just curious if it is common practice however for the surgeons to use their assistants/nurses to do the graft placements? The doctor did all the incisions, but the assistants did the placing of the grafts. My main concern would be with qualification of the nurses as it is the doctors whom I research. Not necessarily their help staff.

    Thoughts?

  6. No, you don't understand. I have 2 scars now. One from each surgery. If I have a 3rd surgery, it will only remove the latest scar. So now, I will always have 2 scars.

I can see the doctors reasoning behind moving the incision line down to make sure its 100% safe zone, but wish that information came to light in our consultation, not just before we was going to make the cut.

So now, I'll have 2 scars. I'm unsure IF the 2nd one will be removed and turned into one scar in the end, but it sounds like i will always have 2.

The 2 scars converge at the ending points but in the back of my head there is about an inch or so difference.

  7. So I recently had my 2nd surgery. One day Post Op.

The surgery went great. I went to Doctor Rosanelli. He was very professional, answered all my questions, and the staff was fantastic. I've extremely resistant to drugs and absorb them quickly, so they had to double numb me just to begin.

However, he had indicated that based on my first procedure with another Doctor back in 2008, that a second scar would be the best approach rather than cutting out the first one. He felt the original was too high and wouldn't yeild enough grafts due to the placement of the scar in regards to the new procedure...Now, my question is..

Is adding a second scar given that situation ideal or is it always best to just do one scar?

He mentioned we can remove his scar during a 3rd procedure a year from now, which i plan on doing. He estimated I can get another 1600-2000 grafts then. After that I was planning on FUE'ing the scars to reduce the appearance now that I will have 2.

What is everyone's thoughts on this matter? I could use a bit of feedback as I'm a bit worried having 2 scars now

  8. So my last procedure was 5 years ago. It's been awhile since I had one, so I just wanted to reach out to the community and see if they have any tips and recommendations on my post-op success. The doctor has given me some tips as well, but I want to hear from those who have gone through a procedure and what worked for you.

    Things Ive already acquired:

    • Comfy travel pillow to support neck
    • Lots of saline solution with spray bottle
    • Gauze
    • Maderma
    • Anti bacterial ointment with pain reliever
    • Some good pre-cooked meals so I wont have to cook

Would love to hear any other supplies i might need, or even general tips for my post op.

    Thanks
