I have had some growth starting to sprout in the crown area the last few weeks ( thank god , i was getting concerned ). I had 3300 fue's back in June . I have been putting creme on my head before bed .... i just wondered if anyone can suggest anyting ie ... special lotion ? aside from that things are going great !!! Good Morning Urask Well i have to tell you that i did have the same concerns as yourself regarding h/t's . I am in sales and have to deal with people face to face and i was utterly concerned that my ht would be obvious to my clients . I was so wrong , i had a 3300 follicular unit ht back in June of this year . I have to tell you that i dont think anyone was wise to my surgery . I did take off ten days after my transplant and that was more than enough time to heal without notice . I would say that i would let your hair grow a wea bit more to disguise your surgery , i just changed my hair style a bit ( combed forward ) , if my hair was too short i wouldnt have been able to do that . I have to say the ONLY regret i have is that it was so easy i should have done it a few years ago . My donor scar is pretty large as i had a pretty big session but its pretty hard to see even right after you have it done ... i keep it a bit longer than before my ht , just until the scar fades a bit more . So i would tell you from my expierence i would go for it ... i truly believe that it was one of the best things i have ever done in my life ... i am about the same age as you and i know what you are going through . This site has coached me through all the questions that have come up after my transplant which has helped a great deal ... it seems to take forever to grow .... it doesnt really but your so excited to see new growth . I feel as if i turned back the clock ten years with the hair i now have ... so i would say go for it just make sure you choose the right Doctor . Good Luck !!!

So i have just hit the 6 month marker after my 3300 follicular unit ht . My doctor said that was about 6200 plus hairs ? Anyhow i have seen lots of growth on my front hairline , the hairs are finer in texture at this point , i understand they will get thicker based on what i have read here ? Anyway i am concerned that the crown area hasnt really filled in much ? My hair is lighter ( dirty blond ) i guess i was hoping for a more dense look ? I still feel alot of tingling on my head , and there are still several tiny bumps on my scalp ... im assuming thats new hairs breaking through ? I guess my question is .... am i on track here ... should my crown have shown more signs of growth .... or am i still pretty early to see more results ... im concerned ... not paniced ... yet ??? Any comments would be appreciated . Thanks

I know exactly how you feel , im at about 5 months now and boy is there ever a difference !! All of a sudden you look in the mirror to a new hairline .. its unreal . I had the same concerns as you , its a horrible feeling !!!! Hang in there ... if you wait they will come !!! lol -
Ok so im at the 4.5 month period after a h/t and right now there is lots going on in my front hairline but the crown is sitting dormant ... or at least there is very little growth ? Is this common ..... i know its early in the game for me , but im curious to know whats up ? Im kinda worried that there is nothing going to grow in back ?

I agree with Hugh on this , toppik works great and there is no after damage . Honestly i think "we" who have had HT shouldnt be so worried .... i think most people would applaud us for having the courage to have such an operation ? I myself had buzzed my hair short and yes you can see my 3 month old scar ( and its not small ) and i know my co workers know what i did yet they havent said a word .... and no they havent gossiped . I just figure what the hell .... i did it cause i will feel better about myself and how can you knock someone for that !!! If i were you i would just leave it as is and be proud that you had the balls to want to look better !!!!

Good morning guys !! So i was reading through some of the posts in here this morning and really no one has posted about post op depression . I have to be honest its been three months and two weeks since my ht and i look in the mirror and think to myself i paid $ 9600 for what ... less hair than what i went in with ???? Thats plays on your mind big time !!! I guess its almost like it will never happen .... and i think i am very patient ??? It seems that alot of guys see results by now , and other than some fine sprouts here and there .... there isnt much happening up there ??? When should i see a significant change ????

Thanks Robert ! Ya i had debated about taking anything after the surgery . Quite honestly its the " life " commitment thing im not sure i can handle ? I know that i would start to waiver after some time so i thought why bother ? I would use a shampoo ( Nizoral ) but i have heard mixed reviews ? Its so hard to get the straight in this business ? So you recommend Nizoral ... that is shampoo correct ?

Well i went to my family doctor and he said that nothing was infected or anything , although he was quite interested in the process . So yeah the growth has started to sprout somewhat .... very minimal at thi point but i have pretty fair hair ( dirty blond ) . I have to admit its very hard waiting for my new hair !!!! Im really just hoping that its what i had expected ? I had it done June 2nd so i guess its just about to start sprouting . I havent taken any medications or anything so maybe im slower than normal ? Anyway i will get around to posting a few pics soon enough !!!

Thanks for the advice guys . Yes it is spotting at where he removed that strip . Just around the back part , near my ear . I am going to my family doctor today to get him to look at it . I did email some pics to Dr Cotterill to show him whats going on . Thanks again , your site here is very informative !!!!

Sorry im not familiar with all the terms . I had a strip removed from the back and then it was disected and transplanted . My Doctor was Paul Coterill in Toronto .

I just want to get an opinion from you all . I had a transplant the better part of three months ago and i have a wea bit of blood spotting from my incision , i had a strip fue done . Should i be concerned ? There is no pain and its just a few spots on my pillow in the morning . I am starting to see new growth and everything else seems to be in check ?

Well i thought i would give you all a little background on my transplant this June by Dr Coterill in Toronto . I am 35 years old and i have been watching my hairline receed since the age of 25 . It has literally torn me apart , there isnt a day that went by where it wasnt on my mind . Its amazing how it starts to consume you . I had used things like toppik and i have to say that i was impressed but it just didnt give me what i wanted . I have always been fashion savvy and have always kept myself in good shape , these things i could control . So with much thought i deceieded to look into a hair transplant . I researched my area ( Toronto ) and found that Dr Coterhill had exceptional qualifications , and most importantly he is the one that does the proceadure ... alot dont !! Anyway i had a strip fue done and i have to say that the scar has healed well , i have quite a short haircut at the moment and it is very hard to see . I had about 1750 grafts in the front hairline and crown area . I have to say that the surgery was very very smooth and i had no complications . His clinic was very professional and at this point i am pleased , but of course time will be the judge ? So i will keep you all up to speed with my progress and i will include some shots . If i could do anything differently it would have been to do it slightly sooner !!!!! Cheers
