  1. Yes, according to Dr Pong. Anyway, the generic propecia from Dr Pong is quite affordable, which he can mail it to you.
  2. My first HT last year on my front was about 2680 grafts. Can't remember exact how much. It was slightly under US$2 per graft under the old rate. This year, I had 1600+ on my crown area. US$2 per graft under the new rate.
  3. 1) I did mine with Dr Pong twice. 2) Dr Pong would advice you to keep hair long before ops (don't cut!) 3) Can return to work within a week. No prob. I've gone to Chiang Mai and everyone thought I went there just for holiday when I'm back. If you've specific questions, pl email Dr Pong directly. He is very prompt and helpful in reply. I can trust him.
  4. You can see from my small avatar. Before it was half bald in front, now can cover full in hair. not like ang mo, im too paiseh to share. but you can see many many real examples on dr pong website and i can tell u that they are for real. p/s u have to take Propecia for life after ur HT.
  5. Sure, I just had my 2nd HT on crown area with Dr Pong. I've full confidence with him. Unlike most sg surgeons, he does only hair and nothing else. Imagine if you just want to eat bak chop mee, would you buy from a stall that sells only bak chop mee or a stall that sells everything? What do you need to know?
  6. This is strange. I had never taken any Propecia when I had my first HT with him a year ago. The only time he asked me to wait was when I wanted to book my 2nd HT just after 6 months.
  7. I mean it's my small avantar photo. This forum doesn't seem to allow me to upload photos.
  8. This is my result after having my first transplant with Dr Pong last March 2012: From near frontal baldness to full of hair (see my profile photo). I would be looking forward to see him again for my crown area this coming march.
  9. @Duckie - yea, I had my HT with him 6 weeks ago. The busy period that he told me was during new year period. In fact, a day before my ops he did not have any patients, as the patient postponed/cancelled it at last min. I noticed most of the staff left shortly after my HT at around 3pm. So, I presumed they should have pretty good work-life balance if they were to work in a public hospital.
  10. Dr Pong only attend to 1 patient per day. Even he works on sunday, the team still should have sufficient rest. Wonder how much higher is Dr Path's charge? Dr Pong is USD 2 per graft.
  11. I saw Dr Pong this week. Like what most of you have shared, he's professional, knowledgeable, considerate and thoughtful. He even prepared head band and head wear for you after ops. And a what-to-do list for reminder. Even my sceptical wife was impressed by his professionalism and thoughtfulness. Most importantly, he has a great loyal team that supports him to provide the best possible treatment. This was my itinerary: Day 1: Arrival day. Pre-ops consultation ~2pm. He drew some marking to indicate what he intended to do for me. Later, my wife and I went to spa/massage. It help to me to relax my muscle & body, as the next day ops would last 5-6 hours. Day 2: Ops day. Dr Pong designed my "new" frontal hairline. The pain level of the ops was about the same as visiting a dentist. Received 2662 grafts. A couple of hours after ops, I felt really painful and terrible. I've to rest inside hotel room. Remember to follow the pain medication as prescribed. Day 3: Pain subsided. Post ops check-up. Removed bandage and hair wash. Everything went well. And I bought Firide (generic propecia) from him that could last me till the next visit. He even offered to ship them to my country (which cost 3 times more in my country) Day 4: Hair wash in early morning 0730 and left for airport at 1000 hrs Dr Pong mentioned that the estimated no. of grafts for my crown area would be around 2000. Looking forward to the next ops to have a full hair coverage . And I've to start saving up for the next trip in a year time.
  12. Hi all My first appointment with Dr Pong is within 2 weeks from now. Kind of feeling nervous. I need advise on propecia. Did you buy them from Dr Pong? Because I heard that in Thailand you can buy cheaper propecia from the Boots pharmacy without prescription. If true, do you know where's the nearest Boots from his clinic? Hope to hear you soon. Regards
  13. I've seen the pics. Looking good. I would be running a tight schedule like this: Day of arrival: (Tue) ~1pm. Will drop by the clinic for consultation in late afternoon. Day 1 (Wed): Hair Transplant day Day 2 (Thu): Post ops check-up Day 3 (Fri): Post ops check-up at 8a.m. Depart Chiang Mai (Flight time: 11:30a.m) As for hotel, I have booked Lotus PSK via Agoda.com. I've read that the hotel is linked to a major shopping mall, so I could just walk to the "fun" area. And most importantly, it seems that the hotel is just a street opposite of the clinic here: Near by Hotels. A check on tripadvisor.com would recommend a stay on its new wing (deluxe) over the old wing (superior).
  14. @Tom: Thanks for your sharing. Great info! You've given me confidence to go over next March.
