  1. Hi I am late 40s and had a HT in 2012 with really good results. My crown has gradually thinned since then and I would like to try something to help that. I was considering FUE but then read that maybe SMP would be a better alternative, what is the recommended advice on this please? Thanks for any help Barry
  2. Thanks for the nice replies....I am delighted with the results and hopefully more growth to come too. If anyone is considering a HT with Dr Path I couldn't recommend him and his team highly enough.
  3. Really happy...He is a great surgeon. I never imagined it would look so good to be honest.
  4. Hi, Sorry its been 3 months since I have updated but I have been so busy with work I haven't had a chance. Hair Restoration Journal for Barry1108 - 9 months plus
  5. Hi, I had a HT 6 and a half months ago and the progress since has been great. I am really happy with how things are going but I have one concern. I still use regaine foam every night and whenever I use it there are always around 7 or 8 hairs on my hand afterwards. Is this normal or should I be worried? I am just getting used to having hair growing and feeling more confident and I dont want it to end before I even really enjoy it. Is there something I can do or is it just a temporary thing. I re-started using the foam about 2 months ago and its been happening since then.
  6. Absolutely delighted mate....Cant believe how good it looks at 6 months. 1 question though, do you still have some shedding daily? I use rogaine foam once a day and when I put it on I always have a few hairs on my hand afterwards. Is that normal?
  7. Hi Aramis, I had 3000 grafts which resulted in approximately 7000 hairs.
  8. Hi, Please have a look at my 6 months update. Hair Restoration Journal for Barry1108 - 6 months
  9. Thanks for the reply JF. Your hair is looking great now, congrats! I have updated my blog with my 5 month photos now, got to say I am absolutely delighted with how it is going. Getting my HT with Dr Path is one of the best decisions of my life. Hair Restoration Site for Barry1108
  10. I seem to remember seeing something on here about the amount of growth per month following HT, maybe posted by one of the surgeons. Could anyone let me know what it is? for example it was like a table month 3 - 20% month 4 - 25% etc...for 12 months. I am just curious that 4.5 months post op how much more growth I can look forward to as I am really happy with how it is now. Thanks!
  11. Hi Riloal, thanks for the comment. Prices with Dr Path are very reasonable - I had around 3000 grafts and the cost was around ?4750. The accommodation and living costs for Bangkok are also really cheap. Are you considering Dr Path?
  12. Hi, just over 4 months since my HT with Dr Path and the last 4 weeks I have seen some great growth, the temples and hairline are really starting to come through - this is the first time that I can honestly say that I am happy to have had my HT. I am happy with how it looks now at 4 months, so really excited to see what the coming months bring. Hair Restoration Site for Barry1108
  13. Hi Johnnie, I had 3000 grafts with Dr Path in May, just as the 3.5 month stage now and seeing some really good growth. I had a haircut yesterday so will update my blog with some photos tonight if you want to have a look. I am sure you will look great when the growth kicks in. Good luck! Barry
  14. I have been on finasteride since September 2011 and have experiences side effects bad enough for me to stop taking it 3 weeks ago. In May this year I had a HT and I am just about seeing some new growth which is exciting. I obviously want to try to retain what I already have too so what is the safest most effective way to do this without going back on finasteride? Should I use rogaine foam and/or something else in tablet form? Some advice would be really appreciated Thanks.
  15. Thanks for the reply, does this help with it looking natural and quite flat too? I have never used a hairdryer, how long would it take to get hair looking OK from start to finish? 15 minutes?
  16. Hi, I had a HT in May with Dr Path and am currently awaiting growth and hopefully some decent results but I would like some general advice please. I have always had soft, fluffy hair that is hard to manage or style. Now it has never really bothered me until the last few years when alongside my hair loss the hair has taken to just growing straight out of my head (like grass as my girlfriend says) - so it makes my hair loss look even worse as it just sticks straight up on my head. The only time my hair ever looks OK is after I have worn a cap for an hour or so and it has flattened down so it looks quite natural and obviously this also helps it look a lot more dense. Is there some way of styling it like that - I know there are gels etc but they tend to separate the hairs dont they? I just want it to look quite natural and stay down and not sticking straight up. Any advice would be really appreciated, my HT cost me a lot of time and money that I struggled to get and I would like to be able to get the full benefit of it if possible.
  17. I am now 3 months post-op and have updated my blog. Comments/words of encouragement appreciated. Hair Restoration Journal for Barry1108 - 3 months post-op
  18. Looks brilliant mate - hope mine looks half as good when I am at 12 months. 2 and a half months post-op with Dr Path at the moment and not too much happening, just about getting back to where I was pre-op, although a few of my temple hairs transplanted did remain. Looking forward to seeing some growth in the next few months. Again, congratulations, youve had a great result.
  19. Hi Richard, thanks for the reply. Yeah it is hard to ignore and I am not constantly in the mirror but it is hard to stay positive, especially as only a few people know and they ask me how it is going and I know they are thinking it looks like I have made a mistake getting it done. Once the growth starts though it is (hopefully) more positive than negative in the coming months. Where did you have yours done?
  20. Hi, I have updated my blog with 2 month photos....I am really struggling at the moment, my hair looks absolutely terrible.....cant wait to see an improvement!!! Hair Restoration Site for Barry1108
  21. Hi, did you go to Dr Path in bangkok by any chance?
  22. Thanks for the advice s2thoudriver, I was worried about using anything on it (concealer etc...) in case it affected the HT results. Probably me just being overly cautious though.
  23. Thanks for the replies, I guess it is just a case of wait and see.
  24. It is exactly 1 month today since my HT with Dr Path and virtually all of the new hairs have fallen out, also as my native hair was shaved down for the op I am looking pretty awful at the moment. Never mind, 1 step back 2 steps forward hopefully!! 1 question I have though is how long it takes the scalp to return to normal colour as mine is quite pink and although the transplanted hairs have fallen, my head still looks weird because of the colour of the scalp. Will this start to fade soon? Please feel free to look at my blog and leave comments Hair Restoration Site for Barry1108
