  1. Hi guys, so its weekend, and time to relax.

As i posted here before, im close to book for a HT

With dr. Hakan for aprox. 2000 fue graft.

I asked him if they Can do it without shaving the reciepted area,

And they said yes to that. (However they charge 0,5 euro more per graft)

And they say the end result Will be the same whether they shave or not.

But what do you guys Think?

Should i let it be shaved Down and Also save some cash or

Should i keep it longer and better chance to hide the transplant

    With toppik.

Pls. If anyone have Any experience with this i would

Be glad to hear some feedback ?

  2. You wont have an issue if youve taken 4 x weeks off - when are you booked in for?

Im not booked yet but Will book within the next couple off

    Days i Think.

Will book for 16 april 2014.

But you have a bit more hair than me and i was Also estimated

2000 graft. So maybe i Will need more.

But again your hairline is Low. I Think mine should be a little higher

  3. Cheers Folks -

Jonny, Im 16 days post op, Yes I probably could use something to make it undetectable, are u trying to gage where u will be at this stage with regards to returning to work?

Yeah thats exactly what i am trying to. I Will be able to take 4 weeks off so im looking forward to see your 3,5 weeks post op pics ?

  4. Every airport I went to in Turkey from Adana to Antalya to Istanbul. They always require to remove your hat before entering the duty free. Hope this helps.

Ok. But is it only on/off Quick for 1 second or do you have to take it trough the scanning macines and wait like 1 minute before it comes out again?

  5. Today I had 2000 grafts with Dr Hakan Doganay

    The Morning - Extraction

09:00am - Was picked up from my hotel and driven to the hospital, couldn't believe how modern it was really nice. Went straight up to Dr Hakans office and we discussed hairline design, but of tooing and froing on this as I originally was looking to a bit too straight so we compromised on the curved design he was wanting to do and met somewhere in the middle. After that I was shaved down and taken next door to begin the extractions, the injections were sore but bearable, the three hours seemed to fly by and before I knew it we were done, I was then taken upstairs to my own room, again very nice with bed, sofa, TV and own bathroom. I had lunch here and chilled for half an hour. The assistant then came and got me and took me back down for the implantation. I then spoke to Dr Ayhan in more detail to make sure and get the hairline right, was really pleased with the design.

    The Afternoon - Implantation

12.10pm - So once again the injections were painful, A bit more this time as they were going in the temples etc but nothing major. The implantation begin with Dr Hakan doing the implantation and the assistants loading up the Choi, they really are a class act, I've had more stressful experiences at the hairdressers! After an hour or so we stopped for a break, went into Dr Hakans office for tea and some birthday cake. After that back in we went for more implantation. Dr Ayhan popped in and out as he spoke good English just to give me a run through on how it was going, really great guy. This time seemed to fly by and before I knew it we were done, I then had an injection in the bum cheek and was bandaged up. Given some medication and a quick chat with Dr Hakan who said it went great, My donor wasn't too thin or too thick they said it was right in the middle. I was then dropped to my hotel.

So back tomorrow for a wash and a follow up conversation - cant say enough are brilliant they are, first class.

Hey buddy. Really glad to hear that, as you know i am very close to arrangere a surgery

With dr. Hakan, so This Will help me alot.

I Will follow your case very closely.

One questions though, did he use manuel or motorized tool?

  6. Hi Johnny

I ended up taking a few extra days holiday as I was a bit concerned.

I think I got away with it, unless they are all talking behind my back!!

The recipient is fine now and I dont have any shockloss in the recipient either. The donor still isnt right, but much bettef than it was. Ive been told it'll take about 3 months.

    cheers

    Whats wrong with donor area?

  7. Cheers Matt

I just want that first day out of the way!!!

The front is looking a bit better now redness wise. If this looks half normal I might be able to make up a story about the donor area

    Hey buzz.

So let us know how it went going back to work.

    Any funky looks?

    Or any comment?

  8. People are going to find out at some point. My advice would be to have the transplant, take a couple of weeks off to heal and then tell people.

You will so feel so much better! You will have the upper hand. They might make some funny jokes so be prepared for that, even better join in with some jokes of your own.

Once they have had their 'fun' they quickly turn to becoming more interested in the procedure and will support you. If they don't they are not your friends.

    Trust me, you'll feel great once everyone knows. The choices are;

    1. Months of worrying if someone will notice. Making you stressedd and self conscious. Once people find out (they will) you might not be prepared.

    2. Have the hope hand. Prepare yourself and tell them

    .

Option 2 is by far the best and gives you only a few minutes of discomfort. Versus months this with option 1. And you WILL have to tell them at some point. Might as well get it over with.

    are you sure about that?

Right now i am using toppik so people dont know i am thinnig

And Also i comb my hair forward to hide the reciding hairline.

If i get a 1500-2000 graft session and use different kind of consealer after

    That.

Do you stil Think people would know? People you see Every Day dont

Notice difference when it is happening in such a slow process.

Also it is a FUE, so much less scaring in donor area

  9. I would say if you are so worried to try to take more time off from work, it's easy to make plans now but it will all depend on how you heal and how your head will look like when you have to go back to work. The more time the better.

Shaving them all off won't work, fue is not scarless and it's more than likely that after 10 days there will be strong evidence of surgery and redness on the donor area as well. I am sure using razors on a site that is trying to heal is not the best thing to do and it might aggregate the redness.

There is no easy way out here, you have to bite the bullet and think of the final outcome to get you through it all.

I have bookes 4 weeks off work. So i Will have 26 days to heal after my surgery.
