The growth of my hair is starting to thicken a bit, especially in the temple area. Density is still low, but a lot better than a month ago.

I finally approached my one year anniversary date! As a first time hair-transplant patient, the past year has been an incredible adventure. The first two weeks, I could not stop looking at the mirror. The 2nd and 3rd month, it was a difficult period of seeing most of my hair shed out. Then came 4th and 5th month where the fun began. Seeing my hair grew slowly day by day was exciting and gave me a sense of hope that my results will turn out fine. Most patients still has about 2-3% more growth by the 18th month post-op. but I'll probably won't notice this.

Now that the year is over, my results has given me some coverage (no longer that bald look), but certainly not excellent density given the level of my hairloss and number of grafts received. If I comb my hair down and shine a bright light on top of my head, the density is not quite there yet, especially in the back-end of the transplant section (or bald hairline area). So one more procedure will certainly give me better density whenever I decide to do this.

I have not even had a haircut on my transplant hair. I've only cut a few hair in the front that were starting to touch my eyeballs. So leaving my hair longer allows me to comb my hair to the back or sideways in order to cover the less dense area in the back-end of my transplant section (or bald hairline area).

I appreciated all the kind words and support from the comments. Thank you all for visiting, and I hope my photo dairy was informative. This will be my last photo update (at least until my next procedure). (YEAH! No more annoying daily photos.) Amazingly, I've never missed one photo day in the past year. I've came close to forgetting to take photos several times, and some photos were taken after midnight. =)

I will schedule a one-year follow up appointment with Dr Diep to access my results and discuss about a 2nd procedure.

Due to my previous photos discuss in a forum thread, I've decided to change the angles of my photos to better show my density. Previously, my photos were all taken with my camera around 6 inches apart, which makes it appear magnified by showing the scalp, and appear less dense.

With the revised photo method starting on Day 331, I'm holding the camera's distance by stretching my arms all the way. Then pull the zoom in trigger so that my head fits the photo screen, and without showing my face. This method takes a lot more work because I'm looking at the mirror to view the LCD-camera as I shoot each photo.

I am approaching near the 11-month mark. And with one more month to go, I don't expect a whole lot of improvement when the year is up. But at this point, I am satisfied with what I got consider the number of grafts with my Norwood scale.

Approaching the 10-month mark, the coverage is slightly better than a few months ago. With two months to go on my anniversary procedural date, I don't really expect a whole lot of improvement. But I may consider a second procedure to give me more volume. Stay tuned...

Past the 8th month mark, and it's been quite the transformation. I even started to put a little bit of hairspray so that my hair won't fly all over the place on windy days. While the density is improving a little bit each week, I might not get a solid coverage by year-end. So I may have to consider another procedure to add more density when my year is up.

Two months ago, I was beginning to have some doubt about my growth. But as I've past the 7th month mark, I can see considerable amount of growth compared to a month ago. With 5 months to go on the one year mark, I hope I can get enough density appearance, especially on bright lighting.

Approaching the half-year mark, I'm seeing more growth and thickness. According to the average transplant timeline, I should be at about 50% growth. Even if I'm stuck at this current phase, at least I look a lot better than before transplant. I can only wait and hope the other 50% will follow.

Past the 5 month mark. I have not notice much change since last month. I hope it gets better from here.

I finally past my 3 months. Minimal hairs are beginning to sprout, but density still poor at this time period. I'm definitely excited about the upcoming months.

The shedding phase keeps getting worse. This cannot end soon enough!
