  1. Did you do anything about the gyno Jefff? Like i said, for me if it doesn't resolve on its own than i am looking at reduction surgery. Its hard to believe though that it will resolve spontaniously because i figure once breast tissue has developed it is not just going to go away. Another poster on a separate thread told me that he developed gyno from propecia as well but it resolved on its own once he stopped, so that is encouraging. Right now i am embarassed to take of my shirt.
  2. Since i started researching i am finding some horror stories from people who have had the sides from this drug. Thanks Hariri.
  3. Its encouraging to know that it may go away on its own, thanks Hairz, keeping my fingers crossed.
  4. Hairz, no i have not tried to adjust the dose, stopped it completely. I have read even small doses can still cause hormonal changes so i have elected to not take it. For me i guess i would rather lose my hair than have some hair and breasts too, which right now i may have to have surgery to fix.

    Propecia

Thanks for the feedback guys. Brian, glad all is well for you. I guess it is one of those things that what is helpful in one way can also throw you for a loop in another. I am hoping the minox alone will be enough to keep my hair stabilized. Johnny i have come of it cold turkey, no adjustment. I have had no sexual side effects at all from the drug, and i am seeing my family doctor soon to assess the gyno. Will keep you posted.
  6. Hello Kenz. As i have mentioned on other threads my experience with propecia has been great up until a few months ago. It has worked very well in maintaining what i have and really thickened it up. I have not had any problem at all in the sexual side effects department, but unfortunately for me i have developed gynocomastia (enlargement of the breasts), which is a stated side effect of this medication. I have very reluctantly stopped using it, but am still on minox, so hoping that it will pick up the slack.
  7. Hi Hairless. Yes it worked very well for me, but because i am one of the minority who is experiencing a side effect after only 4 years of using, sadly i have had to stop using it.
  8. Hi Jefff. I memtioned my experience with propecia in another thread. Apparently you have not had any problems with propecia after 8 years, you're fortunate. I, on the other hand, after less than four years have developed gynocomastia, enlargement of the breasts, ..... not very nice. I have come of off this medication in hopes that the problem will resolve or i am looking at breast reduction surgery. The propecia was working so well too. I guess when something works so well in one department, murphy's law it will cause havoc in another department, at least in my case. Hope it works out for you.
  9. Hello everyone. Just wanted to say that i discontinued using propecia (finasteride) this week. I have been using it for just under four years. In the last few months i have developed gynocomastia (enlargement of the breasts) and it is disturbing. I will now wait and see if this resolves on its own now that i have stopped using propecia, if it doesn't then the money saved for a transplant will be spent on breast reduction surgery. To bad too because the propecia was working so well. Just wondering if any other propecia users have run into the same problem. Thanks.
  10. I agree with GBU. If she asks then by all means tell her, otherwise after the surgery it is as it was before with a little bit of rearranged hair. Forget about it and just enjoy the result, carry on.
  11. Thank you David, great site.
