  1. For the last month I have been experimenting with nanofibres on the hairline. I have heard from people on various forums that nanofibres generally don't work too well on the hairline. I thought I would give my views on this subject. After a bit of research I decided to go with Nanogen fibres. They generally seemed to receive a lot of praise from other users of nanofibres. They also are reasonably priced at around ?19. The next decision to make was colour. I opted for Auburn which is basically medium brown with a touch or red. For me this seems to be a pretty good colour match (although I recently added highlights to my hair which has made it a little lighter). Applying Nanogen fibres straight out the box is almost impossible on the hairline. The tube of fibres is similar to a pepper shaker which does not lend itself to be used on the hairline. If you would like to use it for this purpose it will need some modification. Firstly you will need to purchase a Toppik Spray Applicator which retail at about ?15. The applicator is not designed to fit on the Nanogen tube so you will need to use some tape to sure it as seen in my photo. The spray nozzle makes applying the fibres a lot easier and will make your fibres go a lot further. There is a plastic window in the side of the tube so you an see how approximately how many applications you have left. According to the website a 30g container will last 60 days. This depends alot on how much you use. Even though I use the fibres nearly every day I expect them to last 4-5 months as I only use a small amount each time. OK, so here are my tips for application of the Nanogen fibres. My routine is to style my hair as normal and wait for it to dry before applying the fibres. Try to spray the fibers up in to the hair rather than down towards the scalp. This takes a bit of practice and can be tricky at first. Fibres only work to thicken the hair you already have by clinging to it. So don't spray the fibres where you have no hair because it will just leave a dirty smudge on your scalp. I have not tried the Nanogen locking mist but I would suggest using hairspray. I think the fibres find it easier to cling to the hair when using hairspray. In conclusion I think nanofibres are a really great way to thicken your hairline. I hope this review is useful and helpful to at least one other person on this forum. It would be great to know your views and thoughts on my photos. Brogain
  2. My hair has deffiantly got thicker since taking Propecia. Like I said I am only really experiencing hair loss at the temples and hairline but with a history of MBP on both sides of the family I decided I would get on it fast ages 27 to slow it right down. I would say that has worked but now I would like to regrow what I have lost at the hairline. I don't think propecia will regrow a significant amount of hair but I would recommend it to anyone who is in the early stages of thinning or losing hair.
  3. My current regime is Propecia 1mg a day which I have been taking for about 8months and Nizoral every three days. I am only experiencing hair loss at the temple and hairline and my hair is pretty thick everywhere else. I want to start Minoxidil in the next couple of weeks on my hairline to see if I can fill it out. I think I will start with two weeks of just liquid before I go to bed. Hopefully this won't cause too much shedding. I will then incorporate the foam in to the mornings before I style my hair.
  4. Thanks for your reply Kenaz. It is encouraging to hear that somone is getting regrowth from Minox in the frontal area. This is where I am experiencing hairloss. Im just wondering if its time for me to start using Minox and which particular one I should go for. Im worried about my hairline looking worse before it looks better.
  5. Hi Guys I'm new to this forum so I will give you a bit of background to myself. I am turning 28 in August and I first noticed sign of MPB about four years ago. I have a history of MPB on both sides of my family and my dad lost most of his hair in his early 20's. So I have always considered myself lucky to still have most of mine still intact. I always though I would one day join the Hulk Hogan hair club for men. I jumped on Propecia about 10 months ago after seeing my hair getting gradually worse. I am only experiencing noticeable hair loss at the temples and hairline and have thick hair all over the rest of my head (for now!). I would say the last 10 months my hair has remained stable and improved if anything from getting a little thicker along with Nizoral 2% every 4 days. I am now tempted to give Regaine or another Minoxidil product a try to see if I can grow back some of the hair at the hairline which I have lost. I have read previously Regaine was only tested on the top of the head and not at the hairline but I have heard success stories from others. So I wanted to get some feedback from people who use or have Regaine before. I understand shedding is part of the process but it does still scare the crap out of me rather that I will loose lots of hairs in the short run for long term gain. I normally find 3-5 hairs on my comb after styling which I dont consider to be too bad. I have held out till now but I am curious to see what extent it works out for me. The picture was taken today with a very strong flash I might add. Any advice, suggestions, comments or support for this newbie would be appreciated. Many thanks, Ben
  6. I am thinking of adding Regaine to my current regime. After reading many posts of this forum and other it is seems that the following can be said for each solution. Please feel free to add your own pro/con personal experiences to this thread. Foam Pros Dries quickly, Easier to style hair after application, Smells nice Foam Cons More expensive than liquid, possibly less effective than liquid as does not penetrate the scalp as well when. Liquid Pros Can apply it directly to scalp and not to hair, Cheaper than foam Liquid Cons Takes ages to dry, Hair does not style as easily, does not smell too great. With that being said I was wondering if anyone uses both. For example, applying foam in the morning when you are in a rush to get somewhere and using liquid in the evening perhaps a few hours before you go to bed. Any thougts?
