Sorry to get back to you here,i received your pm but i am unable to reply back to you, i think it may be the browser..
To answer your questions, i stayed at four seasons accor at Victory Monument, very close to Dr Path about 5 mins drive or a few train stops away, and i paid cash but you can also transfer money. Best to speak to Dr Path's staff about that.
Hope this helps, sorry to hijack the thread, if you have further questions just let me know.
All the best

Lol, I was fighting the urge to mention the Phil Collins similarity )
lol
nice one guys, as much as i like Phil Collins as a musician, i am glad i no longer resemble him

You had a great result. You went from Phil Collins to nice head of hair. Great coverage and natural result.
Hi Spanker;
I must say i LOL'ed when i read Phil Collins because you are absolutely right, it was very Phil Collins like, well said mate!!
Although under very harsh light it can look thin, i am happy for now with the coverage and the result. Perhaps years down the line i may go for a second pass but for now i am very happy.
Thanks for your support.

The surgeons in Australia have not impressed me. Even the inventor of FUE resides in Australia and he has long been surpassed by the likes of Feriduni, Lorenzo, Bisanga etc. You really are getting more value for money by going overseas as the Australian surgeons charge a premium because there is much less competition and the quality is much greater overseas.
spot on Mickey. Even if one goes to europe or north america, not only you give yourself the best chance for success, but also save money.

Jolly, I just went through your thread. You have one of the biggest transformations I've seen. Very nice! And you're right, they would have to notice but in a good way.
Levrais, cheers mate, i no longer care who knows i have had HT

Hello All!!
I had been wanting to do an update and here it is finally.
Since my last update (see the link in my sig for the full story and pics, 4020 grafts to front and temples only), i passed the 18 month mark, and then before i knew it here i am at 21 months!!! As slow as the first 6 months passed, last 12 months flew!!!!
I wont talk too much as most of you would be wanting to see pics, but a couple of things i noticed along the way. My natural yearly shed always happens around July, and last year was no exception. What i did notice is that when you go through a shed the illusion of the HT suffers greatly. I had read about it in one of spex's threads, but when i went through it the difference blew me away.
So to counter it i decided to try dermmatch. Although far from perfect, i found dermmatch to be very good. In the early days when i was experimenting i used to make a whole lot of mess and used to pile it on, but once i worked out how best to use it, that is use as little as possible, results are impressive. I am now fully recovered from the shed, in fact i had another shed due to my discontinuation of rogain ( i was lazy and stopped using rogain but kept the fin going) for a few months and once i started losing some hair, panicking and getting back on rogain saw me through another shed. So now i know rogain and fin go hand in hand.
I have been doing a lot of running recently and lost about 15 kilos, i wonder if losing weight might help the scar, as opposed to gaining weight where the scar might stretch? At the moment scar is not an issue, i get sides and back clipped with number 2 guard, and scar is invisible except for a very faint 'hat hair' when wet.
Anyhow here are the pics. Some before and just after HT pics, then the first 21 month ones are wet hair straight after shower, the others with wax and dermmatch, but very little of it. I find it works great on my sides where the hair is thin, also it does a great job colouring my greys, which means i dont have to use filthy chemicals to dye my hair. I also have very little dermmatch applied on the front and very little on the crown.
Here are the before HT pics, and about 1 month on fin and min
Here are the wet hair 21 months HT no dermmatch
And these are with styling wax and a little dermmatch
hope u liked the pics, if any questions feel free to ask, but my life has changed in an amazing way, i am grateful to this site, its people and Dr Path and his staff.
Cheers

I told one of my close friends about it when I was drunk. Then I thought 'F' it and told the rest of my close friends (5 in total) when I was sober. They didn't care, even when I came back and saw them 1 week post op they barely looked up when I took my hat off.
Only my parents knew from my family.
It wasn't really a big deal, no-one really cares as much as you think. Though obviously you probably don't want EVERYONE to know.
I told those closest to me so that I wouldn't have to hide from them and become a recluse, it was a great decision........in those dark days when I avoided the public, we'd have gatherings at houses or go to pubs far from where we live so that I could take my hat off and not worry about seeing people I knew.
lol mate, i did the exact thing last week, when i was drunk told my best mate who was really really great about it, told me i should not hide from anyone and tell the rest of the boys..
and he was very curious about it and asked heaps of questions, and no doubt i will tell the rest of the boys soon. To be honest they all suspected it anyway, i had a huge transformation.
until last week onlt family knew about it, and now that its been so long since the HT i really dont care who else finds out.

Hi Bronte;
Its my personal opinion that a travel is a must if you are an aussie. I have heard of the doctor you mentioned, even been to the same clinic for consultation. I am extremely happy i was able to find this site and took the advice to travel for an HT, saving huge dollars and getting quality work with results that i am happy with. I think you should do lots of research and work it out for yourself, but if you ask me i recommend you jump on a plane.
Let me know if you have further questions.

Dr Path also gave me these shots as well and worked very well at numbing the scalp.

Please update photoes when you are able to.
I have a FUT scheduled with Dr Pathomvanich in the latter part of May. My hairloss is similar to yours and I truly wish I get a similar result to yours.

Hey Jollyfolly,
I've just discovered this site and have been blown away by your amazing results.
Your thread is truly inspirational and gives hope and advice to other people who are suffering from hair loss.
I too, live in Australia and have been discouraged about getting a hair transplant done, due to the high cost of the surgery. Looking at other peoples photos, i think i might need 1,500 - 2,000 grafts.
I had really good results with propecia but had to stop because of side effects, then i started to use rogaine but did not notice any results.
Hi tinkz;
I am happy to give a fellow aussie some hope and advice, and thanks for your encouragement. My life has changed dramatically and it almost now feels like i never have gone bald, its almost like it is a very distant memory and given the meds are working at the moment i am not losing any hair and i have completely stopped worrying about hair loss.
I have been wanting to do a new thread with current photos for an update which i will soon. I have been doing a lot of running and i have lost almost 15 kilos since my last update. Friends and colleagues who havent seen me since before the HT literally do not recognise me. I have been told i now look 10 years younger and i am chuffed.
All the best to you mate, if you need any advice or info let me know.

hey Barry, looks great mate, and you still have some time to go before it is fully matured but you must be ecstatic..
-
hey JohnnieB;
fantastic results so far, looks like it is goint to be a success, and the density will only get better from here..congrats!!!
-
i used a little make up to cover the redness borrowed from my girlfriend for a while but after some time i stopped caring about it and told people who noticed the redness that i had a reaction to rogaine and also got sun burnt..
for me as time went on i got less and less self conscience about the HT.
-
my redness lasted for 6 months so 3 months of redness is not that uncommon..

Excellent thread, i really enjoyed reading and it brought back all the wonderful memories from over 10 years ago from my HT with Dr. Path.
I am still not 100% sure if i want a second HT but will be organising a visit with a close mate who wants some work done so i am looking forward to seeing Dr Path and his staff soon.
Well done on an excellent HT.
