  1. Thank you Blake. I actually already emailed pics to a number of recommended docs on this forum a year ago. Many didn't reply and those that did were suggesting strip. One or two have suggested FUE, but then failed to respond when i asked to see photos of past patients. I need to be absolutely sure the surgeon i select has proven experience with female sideburn recon. If they can't provide photos (and not just 1 pic of the best ever result, but pics of all results so that i know what is realistic and know what the worst outcome might look like) and/or put me in touch with previous patients, then i cannot take the risk. I've already had my once attractive face disfigured by a 'top' London surgeon, so i can't make another mistake with this damage limitation exercise.
  2. Many Thanks for the response. I couldn't find any photos of female sideburn recon on your website. Are there any results you could post on this site? I'm sure there are other women out there who have the same issue I do and would find some examples very useful. Thanks again
  3. Hi all I am over a year post op from a disasterous facelift by a 'top' UK surgeon who surgically removed my sideburns without my consent and elevated my hairline above my ears. I've been researching HT for ages and could do with advice. It's difficult to find anyone with significant experience of female sideburn recon, for example there are just a few pics on the internet and it's the same few pics constantly circulating. Some surgeons appear to have fantastic results with female sideburn recon using strip. i am a bad candidate for strip as i already have a .8 x 7cm bald strip on my head courtesy the FL surgeon where he pulled too tight and the scar stretched, my hair fell out and i now have this bald strip. Coupled with the loss of sideburns i have lost alot of volume and my hair was thin and fine to begin with. So i cannot risk a stretched scar from strip. I recently had revision surgery to try and minimise the elevated hairline (flap rotation and temple redraping) and to ecxise the bald strip but this unfortunately failed. The bald strip simply stretched again resulting in yet more hair loss and the rotation had no impact on the elevated hairline. My options are now limited to FUE and i really need to get it right as the emotional and financial impact continues to devastate me. When i email HT surgeons, they either don't reply, or they recommend strip- despite me sending a pic of my huge stretched scar/bald strip. I need to find some one who is experienced in FEMALE sideburn recon specifically and will take the time to give me appropriate personal advice. Any comments, advice or experiences would be really welcome.
  4. I've been researching HT for loss of sideburns after a bad facelift. I can't find many examples of female sideburn reconstruction specifically with FUE I cannot have the strip method as i already have a bald strip .8 x 7cm on the back of my head as a result of the aggressive FL and subsequent stretching of the scar resulting in hair loss and baldness. I can't risk the same happening in the donor area, so am limited to FUE. Comments appreciated.
  5. Is there anyone here who has had sideburn reconstruction after a bad FL and is willing to post the results?
  6. My initial research indicates that i need 500 grafts to each side to restore the sideburns carelessly removed during a facelift- at a cost of approc 10,000 USD. That's more than the bad facelift cost. So let this be a stark warning to anyone: steer clear of London face lift surgeons. Can anyone advise me on what to look for in photos - ie in terms of whether they are touched up? i'VE seen a few great pictures and when i've asked friends to look at them, they've said the pics are obviously photoshopped. I'm wary as it is, given the situation I'm in.
  7. Thanks for your comment, I'm steering clear of UK after my experience. I will check out Bisanga thanks. I'd love to tell you who the surgeon was - i don't know if there is a private messaging facility on here so I can tell you? Yes unbelievably he is BAAPS, which means nothing, it's just an old boys' club. Other surgeons have described what he has done to me as 'awful work', 'mistakes a trainee would make', and so on. The worst part is, i did my research and he had the right credentials.
  8. TC17, You may be mistaken about the lack of interest from females in terms of HT - i am a female who is in the unfortunate position of having had my sideburns stripped off by a facelift surgeon who told me he would NOT do that, so i have no sideburns and i also have retroauricular hairline deformity. I've have spent much time looking for some one like Barrera who specialises in female sideburn reconstruction. After only finding results of HT on balding men, i am really pleased to have stumbled upon Barrera and his 'special cases' to which you refer.
  9. If so, please give feedback, good or bad.
  10. Thanks Hariri, I've heard of Farjo, but I'm steering clear of the UK. Thanks Spex but I'm looking for some one with specific sideburn experience (and lots of it)
  11. Mr Powers I am a female considering HT in Cape Town after a botched facelift in the UK. The surgeon stripped off my sideburns even though he claims he hasnt! Also have bald patches on the back of my head. Would you say who you used in Cape Town? I don't want to make the same mistake.
  12. Hi all I'm new here. I'm looking for female faceliftees who have experience of HT to restore sideburns after a bad facelift. I would like recommendations from PATIENTS please, and not surgeons. I would like feedback on what the donor area looks like after - as I really want to wear my hair up/back again so don't want a thinned out donor area that just creates another problem. If there's anyone who had a bad experience i'd also like to know - failed HT, scarring ,etc. I need to decide whether it's worth the risk. I'm in UK but will travel to US (if ht is anything like cosmetic surgery in UK, it's best to steer well clear) Here's hoping for feedback from ladies
