  1. Thanks Guys,

I just feel more comfortable keeping it shaved until the recipient area is ready to grow. I don’t mind if the scar is on display.

I had my work Christmas party on Friday and shaved to a No1 b4 I went out and put dermmatch on the scar. It didn’t completely hide it but it did a good job. The lighting in the restaurant and pub helped and no one noticed.

I will take some pics and put them up in the next few days with dermmatch on and see wat u guys think. Here’s a few pics with out it. I used my Iphone camera so there not the best.

  2. Hair Restoration Blackrock clinic is well known in Ireland and do charge ?10 a graft for both FUE and FUT. I think the charge for a consultation is ?250, but you get this back if you go ahead with the procedure. lol

Below is what it says on their cost page,

“The cost of carrying out a quality hair transplant is considerable as the process requires a team of highly skilled medical staff and technicians. On any one transplant surgery there may be up to 18 technicians, nurses and surgeons working on each patient. There is no low-cost method of providing a permanent solution to hair loss by surgical means. Therefore, if cost is the principal factor guiding your decision about whether or not to have a hair transplant, we strongly advise that you do not have surgery but that you consider the medical treatments instead. Having an inferior quality hair transplant carried out can have serious, negative and long-term consequences. As one patient put it: "You never remember the price of a good job and you never forget the price of a bad one".

The price per transplanted follicular unit graft is ?10

Please note the cost per transplanted graft above does not relate to the transplant of scars, eyebrows and repair work. These patients will be quoted on a case by case basis and a quote will be provided at the consultation with the consultant surgeons.”

  3. Thanks Cueball.

You got great value with the flights, ive just looked at flying to Vancouver but its costing around 1,200-1,400 euro?
Wow 1200-1400. That’s crazy. Try the British Midland site.
thought there was a recession on ( and not just the one on my head!!) guess Blackrock do mostly celeb/rich guys!!
Blackrock’s price of 10 euro a graft is ridiculous. I don’t know how their still in business.
whats it like going through security at the airport with the staples? Were you able to wear a baseball cap to cover your head?
I got a singed letter from Dr Rahal explaining that I had a HT and I needed to leave my hat on for protection. I had no problems.
Im not looking forward to a week on my own after the procedure though, this must be a very lonely time im sure?
I stayed at Foxbar, which is an exclusive guesthouse for patients of Dr. Rahal. I met some really nice people there. We all shared a common interest and it was good to share my story with them and listen to theirs. If you’re going with Rahal, I recommended you stay there.
bit worried about side effects, do you think its a waste of time to get a HT and not start going on propecia?
As Jotronic said, you should try the meds b4 a HT. Like you, I was worried about the side effects but I felt it was worth the risk. I use Proscar and cut it into ?s and have had no sides.
  4. Hi cueball35

I had my HT with Dr Rahal 3 weeks ago 2mrw. I flew BMI to London and Air Canada to ottawa. Flights cost a total of 400 euro.

I stayed at Foxbar for 4 days post op. I shud hav stayed for the week. My head was still swollen and my eyes wer closed up. Bit of a nightmare.

I highly recommened Dr Rahal. I recieved world class care from him and his team.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Keith

  5. Thanks guys.

Some of the hair has fallen out. I’m sure the rest will follow in the coming weeks.

For the first week post op my head was very swollen and I didn’t know if the hairline was gona suit me. Now that the swelling is gone I’m really happy with it.

My GP took the stitches out yesterday. He was very impressed with my HT and said it’s the best work he had ever seen and that the donor closure was f**king phenomenal. He asked me if I would meet with a friend of his who’s a plastic surgeon to show him Dr Rahal’s work. I didn’t really think he was that serious and said yes. Within 20 mins of leaving his practice I got a call from his secretary asking if I could come back in on Sunday to meet with them. Im not sure what their gona ask, but ill let u guys know 2mrw

  6. HairFusion,

Thanks for your comment. I’ve been following your page and the work looks really good. Congratulations.

Day 3 now. I don’t have much pain at all. The swelling in my forehead is getting better and as you said its now in my eyes and cheeks. I’m finding it hard to hear and have had a nose bleed. It must be the pressure.

I shaved my head because it is easier to keep the donor area clean. One of the guys staying at Foxbar kept his hair long and regretted doing so. He said his hair was in the way when cleaning, it took too long to dry and found it hard to apply the polysporin. The plus side is his donor area isn’t visible.

    Capellie,

Iv came across a few cases wer they reopened the donor area, so I don’t think its unheard of. I was surprised when he told me he had to reopen because I didn’t realize he had finished taken the first strip. It was pain free and quick. I didn’t bother to ask any questions.

Its good your staying at Foxbar the whole week. I really wish I was. I fly back tomorrow and im not looking forward to it.

  7. Thanks for the posts guys

Slept on the recliner chair last night and had a great sleep. My head is still very swollen but I’m no longer in pain. Feel much better.

Filipinoboy, Thanks for the information. I travel home Tuesday night, so I hope the swelling goes down by then.

Here are some pics I tuk myself this morning. The pre op are from about two months ago. Ill add front view pics when my swelling goes down.

  8. Hi Guys,

I’m not doing too well. My head is very swollen, more than I ever expected. I look like an alien from a comic horror movie. It’s crazy. I talked to my GF on Skype and she started to cry. Im surprised she didn’t tell me not come back. lol

I found it really hard to sleep last night and was awake most of the time. Id say I had 2 hours sleep in total. I took all the pain killers they gave me but they didn’t help and just made me get sick.

    NEWHAIRPLEASE, Capelli11,

I could have had more grafts but, Dr Rahal and I agreed to keep the hairline slightly conservative. Unfortunately the initial strip only had 3300 FU, so he had to open back up the donor area and take another.

I went back this morning for my cleaning. Simple enough. Mike took a few post op pics. He said he will email them to me and when he does ill put the up, but I must warn u guys I look very very strange.

  9. Hi Guys,

My surgery is finished and im now back at Foxbar. Everything went great. Dr Rahal and his team were excellent and made me fell very comfortable. Surgery lasted about 6 hours and I received 3624 grafts.

    Breakdown,

    1s 629.

    2s 1965,

    3s 967,

    4s 63.

    Total hairs. 7712

I will post pics in the coming days.

I have no pain in the recipient area, but the donor area is very sore and uncomfortable.

  10. Rebelvegas, Your result is great. I would be delighted if my HT turned out that good. Why are you planning HT number 2?

Over the last few months I've been in contact with Daphne from Dr. Feriduni's office and I have always received excellent information and advice. The only issue I have is the response time; however, I’m sure they deal with patient concerns promptly.

Also, I would like to use Acell in my surgery and as far as I’m aware it hasn’t been approved in Europe, but this is not a deal breaker.

  11. Jessie, I’m from Ireland. It is a hard one to call. I keep changing my mind on which doc I think is best for me. Dr Feriduni would be best if something went wrong. 50 euro flight from Dublin.

Thanks for the information Lorenzo. I’ve looked at your case. Congratulations on an excellent result

Profoam, I’ve been using the Foam for the last four months. I’ve three months supply of Kirkland Minoxidil liquid, but have never used it.

  12. Thanks Guys

Profoam, Iv been using Rogaine all over my head. It seems to be working. I wont be getting a HT until im 100% sure the meds are working.

Hal, Thanks for sharing your experience with SMG and for the advice. Good luck with your final result. Im sure it will turn out great.

Viper, Iv been following your case and you have had an amazing result. You must be delighted.

Iv attached more photos with five weeks growth. Let me know what u guys think
