Been receding since about the age of 17. I am now 31. Norwood 5A. On Propecia for over 3 years. Half a mg until the op, when dose was increased to 1mg, Regain foam used 3.5 months post op.
Booked surgery 4 months before I flew out to Vancouver on the 25th Sept from Heathrow Airport. Met Doug from H&W and Dr. Victor Hasson for a consultation on the 26th Sept. I had previously done extensive research on the clinic from forums, pics, videos, reviews etc. YouTube was a great source too.
27th Sept 2011- had surgery with Dr. Hasson. The surgery took place at 7.30am until 17.30pm. 10 of Dr. Hasson's Angels worked on me throughout the day. The Dr. spent 3 hours until 10.30 am to extract the strip & close the wound and make 2700 insertions. Later in the day, he came back for another hour to make a further 1400 insertions totalling 4100 holes.
The day itself was a fun day & the weather was beautiful. Watched 3 films & lunch was served. Staff were very friendly. The experience so far has been really good as I have had growth since week 4.
I stayed in Vancouver for 18 days- that was painful as it dragged on, but I wanted to have the staples removed by a tech from H&W. Eating Oriental food & burgers for over 2 weeks was an experience as that's what I mainly managed to find in the city. The staples were very awkward to sleep with & I was very glad to have them removed after 2 weeks.
I'm now 3 months post operation, exciting times ahead! I appreciate everyone else who contributes & shows their progress- this was a deciding factor for me to go ahead with a HT. Good luck to all.
