  1. My regime that many people follow is Propecia, Rogaine Foam and Nizoral.

I also take almost every supplement, vitamin and herb that is supposed to promote healthy hair. I do not mind taking them because they are cheap, pills and good for other parts of the body.

What are your thoughts on me taking the following pills and is there any overlap or possible bad interactions.

    -Nettle

    -Biotin

    -Pygeum Aficanum

    -B Complex

    -Multi Vitamin

    -Omega 3

    -MSM

    -Horsetail Grass

    -Saw Palmetto

I know it seam like overkill but I do workout often, am a large man and as far as I see it should not do any bad and maybe some good.

And yes my friends do call me Monk because I am very obsessive compulsive, which is not good for someone losing their hair.

Also, am I missing any :)

  2. You like you are at a crossroads and you can either shave or get a HT. I WISH I could shave my head but bad work and a horrible scar will never allow me to do that.

This is actually one of those choices that will effect the rest of your life so there is no hurry.

I would 100% recommend shaving your head for at least a year and at that time if you are not happy then go for the HT and try propecia, rogaine and Nizoral. Who knows maybe some hair will come back. There are definitely no rules for hair loss and everyone if different.

I do not know if you are married or not but once you are married your wife could careless if you have a shaved head so if you do a HT do it for yourself.

  3. Hello Take The Plunge,

Your responce does put my mind at ease. I like many people in this forum are just searching for legitimate help and advice and everyone at first should not at first trust a website but I can now say it this is legitimate.

I even slipped a not so good reply about a coalition member and it was not deleted and to the contrary was debated so I see this is an open discussion of ideas.

I just need to be extra careful because I had a terrible experience 12 years ago that pretty much has added alot of stress to my life ever since.

I am going with Alexander and will document it all. Hopefully my story can give hope to someone feels like they have no options because you can't shave your head because of the scar and are very weary of procedure that is the cause of all the problems.

  4. I am about to schedule a HT procedure in about 3 weeks and I want the best possible result.

I do not care what I have to do. I do not care if it is an old wife's tale let me know anything such as: massaging, pills, herbs or standing on my head :) I am willing to do anything I can to optimize my result.

I have heard of scalp massaging does anyone have a link or explain the best way to do it?

  5. I actually think they will have a cure for hairloss in 10 to 15 years and the ACEll or cloneing can be the answer. Also, even if hair is pouring off your head you will not see it happening or notice it until one day you notice something has changed. I have been on Propecia and Rogaine for 11 years with no site effects at all. The other weapen is shampoos and I can't imagine they could have side effects besides maybe itchiness.

Your hair is fine by the way and are in a perfect position to stop or greatly slow anymore loss.

    Just buy:

    Proscar: 2$/month

    Generic Rogaine: $10/month

    Nizoral: 5$/month

I think you could sqeeze that out :)

  6. I agree with everything you guys are saying. Matt, I even gave you props, "Shapiro has been around longer, has many accolades and seams to do the top work. Also, his rep was great and seamed the most confident in his Dr." Also, everything Matt said he in fact told me. I was just stating my very arm-chair opinion in few sentences. I had my doubts about this forum but I definitely talked to Matt.

After talking to all three it was so hard to choose between Alexander and Shapiro. I have read in here that it is a personal choice for many reasons. I really liked that Alexander only does one patient a day and in my opinion at worst his HT look natural and at best look like my little piece of heaven.

Man I just want to be the guy with the horrible before and beautiful after picture!

  7. How do we really know that these two groups actually recommend quality doctors and not just the highest bidder?

I have a company that provides a service and I just made up a "society" and ranked myself number 1 and listed others below me to make it look legitimate. I also made 15 other websites just for the use of recommending my company.

I know how easy it is to fake recommendations and coalitions/societies over the internet so how do I know they are real especially since members have to pay?

I want these recommendations to be real so I get valid information and can get my hairline fixed. I just can't go through another nightmare and want to fix my poor decision I made when I was basically a child at just 19!

  8. Chemo is a terrible thing and it messes up everything in your body. Maybe it is just taking longer for your hair to grow back. I would NOT get a HT for many years until you see it as the only resort. If you shave your head you will have a good frontal hairline and that's what girls notice. I would not use propecia or minoxidil or anything like that because you do not have male pattern baldness hence you do not have DHT issues.

My friend I swear not me paid 3K to learn how to pick up girls and professional pickup artist was completely bald with a shaved head.

Also, shaving your head is nice when you have a full head of hair. You do not notice how often yo check your hair for alfalfas and such and when there is not hair why even look.

    Hang in there bud!

  9. That is true about woman haha... From seeing the finger grow back the ACell does seam like it has great potential. When looking at all the doctors I think Cooleys may be thinking more about scientific break throughs. After talking to Shapiros Rep I in a round about way got the feeling he would be in and out and the assistants would be doing alot of work. I decided to go with Alexander next month. He had way more ideas including prior laser hair removal of bad work. He seams like a perfectionist and thats what I want! I will take average or passable too...

  10. I have taken Propecia 11 years including college and believe me I was not lacking at all in the libido.

One thing I am wondering does Propecia start losing its effect after 10 years? This year is the first time my hair has moved a little in years.

Also, does it work as well taken every other day?

  11. I have almost the exact hairline as you but mine is a little more progressed and I have a not so good 11 yr old HT which basically does not even help.

Propecia pretty much stopped my hairloss and if I did the big three it would have been a little better.

If I was you I would keep up your regimen for a long time until you know for sure you are not going to regrow hair because once you get a HT you are in for LIFE. If you get a good one that's great but if you get a bad it could be one of the worst decisions you have ever made.

I noticed that around 30 girls do not even care AT ALL about guys with shaved heads. I WISH I could shave my head.

  12. I have talked to many doctors and they are telling me that I only need to take propecia every other day.

I am sure it still helps but is it completely effective?

I would rather take it every other day but if it is a little less effective it is not worth it. My crown needs all the help it can get.

I was alos told Rogaine 5% is fine to appy only once a day. Is this true?

  13. Thank everyone for your advice!

I see that you agree Dr. Shapiro, Dr. Cooley or Dr. Alexander are good Doctors to talk to.

Have you heard any negative things about any of these doctors? The only negative I have read was that Shapiro is that he was not in the room very long

After talking with each office these are my thoughts:

-I liked Dr. Coolsy especially because of his use of ACell. Is this product as amazing as it seams? The rep said that a the donor with not even have a scar at all. I am a little hesitant because I wonder if he takes too much time in his research and not perfecting his art.

-Alexander talked to me himself and sounds very good.

-Shapiro has been around longer, has many accolades and seams to do the top work. Also, his rep was great and seamed the most confident in his Dr.

  14. Hairloss is obviously a negative human condition but it is looked upon as something that is "funny." For example, if someone had a skin disease no one would point it out and feel like they should get a cookie because they noticed it first. I really do understand why it is so acceptable to ridicule bald guys. Whenever I hear someone mock a bald guy I want to put a voodoo curse on them so that they start going bald.

  15. From being mislead by Matt Mccconauhey I decided to try it out. You go in and they look at your hair with a microscope every time you go in and it looks cool as the gunk clears up but it really does not do anything.

Just to test out its effectiveness I purposely did not use any of their stuff for 6 months. Which is about 3 visits to them. Exactly, at the six month mark I went in and was congratulated that my scalp looked better than ever. He even said my hairs were the best he saw that day. I then knew they totally suckered me...

p.s. the garbage is soooooo expensive I thought to myself it has to work if they are charging ridiculously high but no its crap.

  16. I had a pretty bad HT 11 years ago and am not happy at all about my look. I wish I would have manned up and just shaved my head but now my only choice is to attain a repair.

From what I am reading there are actually doctors that can make one look good. Wow, that would be nice!

From my research I am debating to have my repair done by Dr. Shapiro, Dr. Cooley or Dr. Alexander.

Who do you think I should choose?

Have you heard anything bad about either of these guys?

Help... I need to stop thinking about this crap and move on with my life! Oh, and I am not posting any pictures. Just picture a peach with its fuzz and thats what my temple looks like.

No shills... If anyone spots a shill call them out!
