The before picture was taken at the doctor’s office and are straight from the file. Scalp immediately following the surgery-a few hours afterwards taken at home.
While I agree with everyone's advice that you are in dire need of competent medical care, do you care to explain how your hair went from dark black immediately before the surgery, to gray immediately post-op? This makes no sense. My apologies if I'm missing something.

You need to post a picture of your scalp immediately following the transplant. Your "before" pictures looks like it was taken roughly 20 years before.

62 year old man 9 months after small HT due to limited finances to enhance frontal density. Fewer than 1200 grafts used in the frontal region, and at his return visit recently, he was very angry about the "complete failure" of the surgery. The photos demonstrate increased density consistent with the size of the session, but the patient refused to believe me, or that further growth and improvement was likely. I'm hopeful he will return in a few months with a better outlook!
I can hardly tell the difference between the before and afters. Part of being a responsible doctor is appropriately counseling a patient as to what to expect and whether a procedure will make an appreciable difference, even if he is constrained by so-called financial limitations.

As a side note, DO NOT go with Dr. Vories. He's botched two procedures on African type hair both of which are documented on this forum. His theory might be spot on but his practice - which is what REALLY counts - leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. Do a forum search on "TygerD" to see how his procedure went.
this is good to know.

Altogether, I'm not sure the plan makes sense.
This is a good point.

Btw, your hairline shape reminds me a bit of this famous chap....know who it is?
Tom Cruise of course.

There is or was a shampoo sold under the Rogaine brand, however, it contained no minoxydil and had no hair loss prevention attributes. It was just a brand extension.

Fallen, what inspired you to choose this doctor in the first place over others?

I apologize if I am blunt, but I am somewhat amazed that people don’t know the true nature of ISHRS . ISHRS is just an organization of doctors. As long as you have a current medical license, it doesn’t matter if you’ve butchered dozens or hundreds in the past, you can be a good standing member of ISHRS.
The best example of ISHRS having absolutely no membership selection criteria is ISHRS 2013 President Dr. Carlos J. Puig himself! Dr. Puig has butchered & scammed many innocent victims in the past. See egs:

The Hair Transplant Industry is a Disgrace
Dr. Puig was elected President by ISHRS members—that should say a lot of the total lack of vetting/checks done by ISHRS regarding its members!
A piece of advice to all: before you even consider a doctor for HT, do a lot of research, read all the posts about the doc on this blog and also DO a search on google for the doctor. You’ll be amazed at what you can learn about someone by just searching on google!
You do raise some good points....

@ grwelshy, I think the only FUE doctor I would somehow trust in Ankara or Turkey in general is Dr. Keser from Dermaplast.
Hariri, what about Dr. Koray Erdogan or Dr. Hakan Doganay per your sig?

911fan, it was 1471 grafts, not over 3000. I see how the NW number and graft number ran together in the post, though.

I'm pretty sure the generics sold by Walgreens, Costco and Target here in America are grade A, double plus good.
-
Hope all continues to go your way in beating this disease.

Good idea. It's shaping up to be "The Ultimate FUE Thread" period, or something like "FUE Criteria and Considerations" or "For Those Considering FUE....": etc.

Possibly re-work the title to something broader, as the thread had grown in scope. I could be wrong but it seems like it's than must manual vs. motorized going into basic methodology etc.

What is going on with that graft placement? It doesn't look right. Doesn't look right at all.

That work does look very amateurish.

The fact that Mickey is not a hair transplant professional but has given this level of thought to these issues is extraordinary. I've always enjoyed his posts, but the amount of thought he's put into this latest analysis is clearly a credit to his dedication and to the amount of information that a fellow concerned hair loss suffferer can make available on this forum.

To me it looks like you do have a receding hairline.
-
Is there anything, in particular, that put you ill-at-ease?

I also discovered, on this site, that another Dr. in Nashville, Dr. Jack Fisher, was recommended (though I just found this out last night and haven't made an appointment to get a consultation yet).
It was a bit confusing, since it sounded like you found him on this site.
A bit worried, please any advice would be appreciated.

Surely Dr. Couto has a doctor in the area that he is friendly with and can do the follow-up post-operative care for his patients (you, in this case) in his absence. I would ask them about this and if no such arrangement exists, I would be very wary of proceeding.
