  1. We all are faced with these type of decisions and you have arrived at the right place for some answers from people that are very well versed in this area. As it has been said, we are not getting any younger buddy and nature will win out in the end. IMO you look fine but a HT would tighten you up for sure. Thing is these HT really do work and it's no myth that hair can be moved to other locations to a place we need em more. Blond hair really does well with the color contrast against the skin. Do research many Dr.s and results and talk with some past clients....I'm rootin for you.....

  2. Been well over two years since my HT. Strip method. Lately I have noticed a bit of tightness when I move my head all the way to one side or the other. The scar has never been an issue and I figure I have a bit of a lift in the back to lessen the neck wrinkles....Been thinking of going in for another pass but if the tightness would be worse it may not be worth it....I have not gained or lost a great deal of weight so that isn't a factor. Just old age....Just wondering if anyone has a similar thing going on.

  3. thanks for the comments guys, im kicking myself for not going on meds a long time ago , but i was in denial ,my hairloss was stable for many years but this summer it accelerated, and it has made me take a more active role in dealing with it.or at least trying .

Wish I would have started years ago myself. In short these treatments work to save existing hair for sure. Don't sweat a little shed and just weather the storm for better days ahead. Is worth it.......:)

  4. Used liquid for years then stopped for a while then started again and made my head itch pretty bad. I have heard of others having similar problems. Switched to Foam and it works well with no irritation. Grow well and the best of luck!

  5. Stashthecash, I started on it at 8 months after HT. Dr. told me all HT Dr.s he knows take it. I'm 51 and wish I had started years earlier. Has kept hair from falling out but don't think it has grown much. Biggest downfall is the price at 3 bucks a pop at my drug store. So have since swithced to Proscar cut into 1/4's. Hope this helps and best of luck.

  6. Gandolf,

I think you have a decent head of hair right now. I would be very careful with a HT at this point simply because you have a lot of native hair to lose with shock loss. I see that you are on finasteride - good! You seem to be holding onto your crown fairly well, but you never can know for sure if you will keep it forever. I'm not saying you shouldn't get a HT, it's just not urgent right now. Just do your research for awhile and take your time. You've come to the right place.

I'm on board with these thoughts.....

  7. I work in a structural steel Fab shop and have worn a cap everyday for years and I only told a couple people at my job. Only family members at home my wife and son know about it. Thing is nobody really knew because I wore a Comb-Over from Hell when I just had to go out without a cap. Not even my own daughter that was away at college during healing has asked any questions. Had mine done in the dead of winter in the midwest and didn't really get out much. I would recommend taking a week off afterwards and just lay low for a while.

  8. I agree at over 3 bucks a pop for Propecia gets old real quick. My HT Dr. gave me a perscription at 8 month check up. I thought why not give it a try. I now cut the Generic Proscar into 1/4's and get a years supply for about what the Propecia was costing me for a month. So far so good and see less if any fallen hair in shower etc.

  9. My older brother was taken in by this type system. I thought it looked silly but he liked it. They would actually glue it on with a pine tar looking stuff. After a few years he discoverd that about all existing hair under it was damaged and soon fell out. Now after spending thousands he is left wearing a cap or cue ball look.

  10. Greetings all. Have been busy and unable to take pictures on monthly basis, thus the random updates.

I'm at the 23 week mark (5.36 months :)) after my surgery with Dr. Feller.

No products, #3 buzz (the right side of scar faintly visible under bright light/flash - OK on the left).

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

    Dome

Looks like a new hairline! Really very important to framing the face and first thing we see in the mirror. Even better news is that you still have two VERY strong growth months ahead and beyond. :)
