  1. Hi. Having just wasted 20 minutes typing a post about dealing with depression caused by hairloss, avoiding the Hospital Group in England like the plague and the success I've had having gone for a HT at Dr Devroye's in Belgium, my iPod crashed! Can't face typing it all out again! As I suffer from body dysmorphic disorder, I can't take pictures of myself and won't allow others unless I really have to so I can't offer before & after photos, but am happy to share my experience with anyone who is considering going there for surgery. They are positive experiences. I found sites like this one really helpful when deciding where to go for a second HT but found that people would often not post a year or so down the line because hairloss was no longer an issue for them. I've now reached the 13 month mark with mine. Happy to answer pm's if I can help. Cheers. I

  3. I found/find these forums useful so wanted to add my comment to try and help others. I have signed up now because I'm researching a second HT. I had a HT at THG (in fact it was carried out by Dr Williams). More than a year on its improved but nowhere near as much as I would have hoped. Its helped add some density to the transplanted areas (I had/have a widow's peak and got some to regrow using Regain etc) but its still what I term "them and us!" IOW, you can clearly see the difference between the original hair and the stuff that was transplanted. The hairs on the front have massive gaps between them and seem very thin and weak. I wouldn't reccomend them for the sort of HT I had and (penny drops) wish I had had more confidence to go abroad instead - but it was difficult doing it in secret from family. The Dr was very pleasant and I couldn't complain about how I was treated on the day but fully appreciate that counts for nothing 12 months on! I personally didn't like the salesman (a Bal Singh?) who was a typical salesman. I always remember him saying they would "pack" the transplanted hair around the existing/regrown hair. I wouldn't call it packing! I was also treated poorly leading up to the transplant. Alarm bells were ringing! Oh well, it kept me quiet for 12 months now its on to the second HT. I'm keen to lower the hair-line as I have a very high hair-line. Dr Devroye in Belgium seems to be the favourite at the moment so hoping for a consultation in the new year. Again, have found this site very useful in researching him! All good it seems.
