  1. Thank you everyone for your great input. In Europe I'm leaning toward Dr. Bisanga and in North America Dr. Rahal. I'm also going to consult SMG, but I thought they focused more on FUT. Would you recommend Dr. Paul or Ron for FUE? Thank you.
  2. Hi everyone and thank you for all the great information I've seen on this site. I have a couple of questions which I'm sure have been asked before, but I'd like revisit a few of them as I'm planning on doing a FUE session. I've already performed a FUT session with Dr. Ron Shapiro which I'm very pleased with. It was a great experience though the entire process. I'm now more of a Norwood III vertex and this time I'd like to perform a FUE session for my crown. First, I'd like to ask if there are any issues with performing FUE after having FUT? Does it make a difference, as far as the quality of the procedure, to shave the head prior to session? My last question is regarding our good doctors. I live in US on the east cost. I've read a lot of posts regarding FUE doctors and the majority seem to be located in Europe. I'm able to travel to Europe for the procedure, but if possible I'd like to do it here in the US. Even though cost is a factor, to me it is more important to see a doctor who is truly good at FUE. Though a difficult question, could you please advise on best doctors in the US/NA area? I'm waiting patiently for your response. Thank you.
  3. Hello, I do take the Minox foam. I cannot however recall that I got it in my eye. I didn't have any issues prior to the diagnose. The doctors said it is Central Vein Thrombosis. Clotting of veins. Yes, the eye is getting better on its own without any medication. It could have been dehydration but I'm not sure what it was. Probably wasn't propecia but as I mentioned I still decided not to take it. Has your eye healed?
  4. Hi, I never found the actual reason but I have decided not to take Propecia because of potential side effects and irreversible side effects even after you quit. I will continue to try to find out what the reason was but things are better now and the eye is going back normal. Take care.
  5. Thanks for the response guys. I don't want to cause panic since I'm not sure what the cause is as of yet. Propecia is the only thing that me and the doctor could think of and she told me to stop taking them for now. A couple of days ago I started seeing a bit blurry out of my left eye and it continued so I went to two different doctors and they both said that it is Central Vein Thrombosis. I will get back to you when I know more.
  6. Hi everyone, After seeing a bit blurry for a few days, I went and saw 2 different doctors. It turns out I have developed Retinal Central Vein Thrombosis in left eye. I'm 36 years old and both doctors were very surprised since I have no history of high blood pressure and other hereditary diseases. I will take blood tests tomorrow. I brought my Propecia Finerstaride to the doctor just to show what drug I have been taking for the last 2 months. She said that I should stop taking it cause it might have been the cause for the thrombosis but she can't say for sure. I'm wondering if anyone has come across similar issues with this drug involved? Appreciate any response. Thank you.
  7. Hi everyone, Here is an update after my HT session with Dr. Ron Shapiro. First off, I'm glad that I did my research, flew to US to have my surgery done by Dr. Ron. I was well taken care of and I'm very optimistic about my future result. It was a great feeling for someone who was as nervous as me (not about the procedure itself but more about the outcome) to meet such an understanding and genuine doctor and team. After discussion with Dr. Ron we decided to recreated the hairline which was lost some time ago and put most of the grafts in the mid section. Total grafts/hairs: 3209 = 6301 1 day pre-op and one day post-op pictures. That is it for now guys.
  8. Hi everyone. This is now my 2nd day post-op. Feeling a bit numb around the donor area which is normal. The whole experience was very nice and I felt I was in great hands from the moment I walked in the office. Everyone was very nice and professional. It is still very very early to say anything about the result of course but I have complete trust in Dr. Ron and his staff. I will come out with some pictures as soon as possible. Thanks everybody for your support and concern. Regards Sonny
  9. Thank you very much Jessie for your input. I'm hoping for the best cause this was a big decision not only mentally but also financially. I will definitely keep you updated of my progress. Based on my pictures I'm told 2500 grafts but I guess the final decision will be when I actually see the doctor. Regards Son
  10. Thank you guys. I'm hoping for good results cause this has been a tough decision to make.
  11. Hi everyone, I live in Sweden and have now arrived in US. Staying at a hotel near Shapiro Medical Group (SMG) office. I have a consultation scheduled for tomorrow and the actual surgery is taking place in two days. Getting a bit nervous but the whole reason for me coming all the way to US is cause of all the nice things I heard about Dr. Ron Shapiro on this forum. Crossing my fingers and putting my faith in the good Dr. Will let you guys know how it goes.
  12. Thank you everyone. I will keep you posted.
  13. Well, I'm now in the process of booking my trip to Minneapolis to see Dr. Ron Shapiro. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.
  14. Thanks Hariri for the advice. I myself am leaning towords US. The thing is that it's not much cheaper doing it in Bangkok and that is not my main concern. It's just that I was on my way to Asia to work for a month so I wanted to hit two birds with one stone but I might actually wait a few months and to it in US, maybe with Dr. Shapiro. Are there any side effects with 10%-15% minoxidil treatment? I have only been using over the counter Rogaine.
  15. Sorry, here is a little bit more information. I'm 35 years of age and I have been using Rogaine for many years. Both my father and brother lost their hair at a very young age so I guess I have lucky but I also think it is because of the Rogaine. Rogaine is difficult to apply to all the places though and it's not very convenient. I have been thinking about stronger medication but I'm scared of potential side effects. I do want to add more density to the middle section but also to add some hair to my sides.
  16. Thank you very much Hariri for your input. I really appreciate it. It seems as if Might be going to Asia to work for 2 months. I will try to at least go for a consultation with Dr. Pathomvanich to build myself more knowledge regarding this procedure.
  17. Thank you both very much for your input. I really appreciate it. I was leaning towords Thailand since I might be able to go there for a job and do the procedure while there. I'm also planning a trip to US so I might actually do the procedure there since it seems that, even though there are great doctors in Asia, more doctors have been recommended there. I have been very confused and scared to hones by the different results that has been posted here, many good of course but also some not so good. I feel that it gives me a piece of mind having the procedure done by a doctor who has good results and who can do a nice closing of the donor area. Would you recommend any specific doctors in California? Thank you all for helping me with my decision.
  18. Hi everyone, I'm very confused as of where to go for my HT. I live in Sweden but I'm from middle eastern decent.I don't want to limit myself to Europe. I can travel as long as the surgeon has a good reputation and solid results. Who would you guys recommend if you don't consider geographical location. Of course the price is an issue but from what I understand all good and serious doctors charge about the same. Please help me make my decision. You can find my pictures here: Hair Restoration Social Network ? Community for and by Hair Loss Patients I believe FUT is the way to go for me since according to the doctors I have consulted, through email, that I need around 2500-3000 grafts. Regards Confused guy
  19. Thank you Hariri. I'm actually in Sweden so I'm neither in US or Asia but I'm planning a trip for this reason. I want to go to a good doctor who has been known for achieving good result.
  20. Thank you for your respond. I have heard good things about both doctors but I'm very confused as to where to go.
  21. Hi everyone and thank you for a great forum. I'm in the planning stage to do a HT. From what I understand FUE does not leave scars compared to the STRIP method but at the same time the quality of transplanted hair is better if you do the STRIP method. Another issue is that you cannot do as many hair in one session with FUE. I can travel so I thats not the issue. I need advice as of which Dr. to choose. I'm planning a trip to one of these destinations (Thailand and US) and want to do the surgery while there. Who would you recommend and is my understanding regarding FUE and FUT correct? Thank you very much for any advice.
  22. Hello and thank you for your reply. I'm originally from Iran but live in Sweden since many years back. The operation here in Sweden is very expensive and I have heard that there are very good, experienced doctors in Iran who will perform the procedure just as good but more within the budget. I do however understand that this is a delicate operation and my main concern is not the cost but the end result. I also would prefer a method that leaves very little or no visible scars in case you have short hair. I'm very confused about the different methods, FUE versus STRIP. I have heard that STRIP gives a better overall quality and the session results in more hair but it leaves you with a scar. FUE is more expensive but it heals faster and leaves no scar behind. Very confusing as to which method should be used. Some doctors recommend a combination of both. Would appreciate it if you could shed some light on this matter. I have heard that there are other very competent doctors in the middle east. I was thinking about a trip to Iran and maybe to do the procedure while there but my main and absolute concern is the end result. Thank you.
  23. Thank you for your reply. This doctor in Iran has a site with numbers to his patients around the world. He said that I could contact them and find out for myself if they're happy with the results. I do use Rogaine and I have for years but my hair is thinning specially the sides so after thinking about HT I finally decided to go ahead with it but I need to find good doctors and contact them.
  24. Hello everyone and thank you for a great forum. It is very educational and has helped me to actually consider HT. I'm 35 years old and consider myself having a class 3 pattern. By reading the forum I believe that FUE is the method I would like to use since it doesn't leave a long scar on the donor area. I have emailed my pictures to a few doctors and they have all recommended grafts in the 2500-3000 area in one session. I'm thinking about doing the procedure in Iran. I have contacted doctor Ali Vafaei. I would very much appreciate doctor recommendations if anyone has performed the surgical procedure in Iran. Thank you in advance. Sonny
