  1. It's weird like that yeah, I can't think of a prominent FUT surgeon in Europe, but know that Bisanga does do FUT and also apparently Feriduni too since you mentioned it.

I had small FUE procedures with Bisanga (he and BHC are a top class clinic) but was also impressed with the FUT cases I researched online. Feriduni I have not researched regarding FUT, same with Deroye.

Hope you get more replies from people who have had excellent results from European FUT surgeons, best of luck.

  2. I agree with Gasthoerer, there are a few bad results from Asmed on the Italian forum. I've been looking on that forum for a while now trying to get a feel for what goes on in Europe and there are a few bad cases from Asmed where photos clearly show poor yield. One guy went back for a second pass and after 5100 grafts to the front it's really thin. I found several where the photos weren't available because of photo bucket and their changed policies but the posters said they weren't happy and the clinic said they were in talks with the patient. But yeah, they all have bad results somewhere.

Thanks guys for pointing that out. Really have not seen any on here regarding poor results, but I have to admit I don't read every single forum worldwide.

Though I have searched many of the foreign language ones using google translate in the past when I was actively researching surgeons.

If possible please post the link of the Italian forum, will check out those.

  3. I would skip it to be honest.

About 2-3 years ago PRP was all the rage with several clinics offering it, but there is no strong evidence of it having substantial benefits and I have read stories here of it doing more harm than good.

You'd be better off just concentrating on getting an excellent procedure by an elite surgeon.

Luckily Bisanga is one of those. But the PRP, I would not waste my time on it.

  4. I would go with Bisanga based on personal experience and also based on a veteran poster's experience with the other doc. He is decent but am seeing issues with him producing solid density results (seeing bare scalp in images for example).

Be careful also if doing temple points with BHC/Bisanga, as there are cases on here showing the techs really messed up the temple point graft selection and graft angle placement.

Bisanga does still perform FUT, and actually some of his prominent examples of excellent results are FUT cases.

If you're looking at FUT though the N. American masters Hasson, Konior and Rahal are a better option in my book.

Actually am quite confused by your post, as you mention all the prominent European FUE surgeons but state you are looking to have FUT done..

  5. This will actually depend on which clinic you go to, as some provide entertainment such as DVDs and music while some prefer to have a quiet atmosphere.

Ask your surgeon and clinic what the typical experience will be like for patients there.

And agree with Matt, try to cut the small talk especially with the surgeon during the procedure itself.

  6. I am partial because I have only let Dr. Konior operate on me. Both are great surgeons....but I've seen some sub-par Rahal cases. I have not seen any sub-par Konior cases and he has been doing this, jeez, 25 years.

This exactly sums it up concisely.

If you can get the booking date go with Konior.

If you have some pressing circumstances to go with Rahal, for example if you're a stone's throw away etc. then maybe only in that case I would select Rahal.

My comments stand for both FUE and FUT.

  7. Dr. Konior's stick & place technique + dense packing = grand slam HOMERUN.

    The best in the biz!

Awesome work as always Dr. K, the patient now has hair and a hairline that makes him look 10 years younger.

Though known for a more conservative approach, Dr. Konior can also go aggressive when requested by the patient, and I'm sure this approach was likely patient requested.

  8. Lastly, consider shaving, try it out, you’d be surprised by how many guys regret not shaving their heads initially, I did it, I realized it wasn’t for me, but had I never shaved I’d still be thinking what if. I’d explore that option first before resorting to hair transplantation.

This is the best damn advice some of us often don't readily give as the site is basically about discussing the details on how to proceed with hair restoration.

However, this is important advice from a highly respected member on here who has been through it all you should really consider before proceeding with a HT.

Shave it and see if you can live with that look, you might be surprised and it could be the cheapest and wisest decision.

  9. If this Dr. K proves himself to be the next Keser/Erdogan through proven patient experiences on here I will give the props that are due.

While I have a large amount of personal experience and also knowledge spanning several decades, I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong or reluctant to add another recommended doctor.

But it has to be proven first.

Also this thread was about recommended doctors in "Turkey" not others in Spain or elsewhere.

And my biggest issue was being half quoted in what I said. So I'm just as confused as anyone regarding some of the comments (including "aggressive posters").

We don't have to be politically correct on every word we say, for example getting into semantics about lesser known doctors (never heard of, not well known etc etc...)

We are adamant about protecting patients from having poor results, some like myself who have been on the receiving end of both subpar and amazing results so I know both ends of the spectrum.

Anyway hope the OP ends up with a surgeon that meets his needs and can give him optimal results.

  10. Nooooooooo! lol

    Just don't do it.

This has lead to many people wasting both their hard earned money and their limited donor area supply.

Those who do this end up posting their horror stories on here and asking us how to fix this shit.

If you really want to be cheap, have an amazing surgeon do your hairline and frontal third, then get the rest filled in behind that by some 2nd tier doctor - I'm not recommending you do this actually but it's a less insane alternative.

But whatever you do don't mess with the front with any surgeon who is not truly top tier. You will regret it for life.

Check out Maras in Cyprus (and maybe (??) even Nader in Mexico) before doing what you're considering.

Maras produces damn good work and is not all that expensive.

  11. The main advantage of stick and place is that out of body time of the grafts is reduced. This is supposed to give better growth. Also typically one person is doing the entire procedure, which theretically should give more consisten results. Drawback is that the number of grafts / day is limited.

If the loss is advanced, dense packing is not (!) the highest priority either. A good plan and wise distribution is.

Like I said: This is not a never heard surgeon. He worked for the best clinics in turkey. And he is doing most of the procedure himself (unklike Erdogan for example), which makes him attractive to a certain group of clients. Just like Erdogan is the right one for a certain type of patients. I personally think, this is a borderline case here and not a clear "Erdogan type" as the loss is not that big. yet

HRN is a great site, but only the starting point of the research. This site recommends Yamann and Beehner, but not clinics like Lorenzo or Couto as far as I know. That alone is telling. I agree your point that caution is important, but your point is very one sided. There are much more forums which help to guide a clinic than HRN.

The best usage case for the stick and place technique is for transplanting in between existing native hair or for in between previously transplanted hair - second or subsequent procedures.

Persons suffering from advanced hairloss especially in their first procedure will not benefit greatly from the stick and place technique.

Actually if the surgeon is doing all the stick and placement himself the graft placement part will involve longer duration and thus possibly longer time out of the body.

Maybe you have noticed or not, but I have Couto in my signature and I also do mention cases and literature from Lorenzo in my posts from time to time.

While my posts are aimed at helping the OP as my ultimate aim, your second post, again with inaccuracies and partial information, shows to me you are just trying win some baseless argument.

  12. You have thinning into the vertex and I can't see the crown clearly but I'd say a NW 4 or maybe higher.

This is advanced hairloss so you should carefully research your options including going with FUT first to maximum lifetime available donor supply (if the FUT scar is not something that would greatly bother you with your regular hair length).

I would also research medications such as Fin, including possible side effects, and if you were to address your hairloss in a surgery I would address the hairline and frontal third first, then have a second procedure for the mid scalp and crown area.

You will be looking at 5,00-6,000 grafts or maybe slightly higher for full restoration, but a solid 3,800 graft procedure in the frontal area with an elite surgeon (the ones I recommend are in my signature) would go a long way at framing your face especially if the forelock hair is permanent and can be used for the framing.

  13. I smoked through both of my procedures, and my results were exceptionally good. I wouldn’t stress it man :-)

Yeah, quitting smoking is generally recommended, but if you go with an elite surgeon like Rahal for FUT then everything should work out ok.

The work looks pretty dense from the pics.

Who was the surgeon? And yes the remaining scabs are an issue so try to gently remove them as letting them remain can interfere with the growth process.

  14. Kaan is not a "never heard" surgeon. He worked for HLC and Keser. Here are some first results and more in other Forums.

Nah, you cut out the second but very important part of my post, just for the sake of argument apparently.

I wouldn't go with a never heard of surgeon who hasn't at least been vetted through patient experiences on HRN.

  15. Again I don't recommend going with that doc you mentioned as he hasn't been fully vetted through patient experiences on this forum, that is a surefire way to lead yourself in the direction of subpar results.

Dr. Konior does stick and place and I think that it is the best technique for when transplanting into existing hair or when having a second or third touchup procedure.

If it's your first procedure and you have advanced hairloss I wouldn't worry about stick and place though. Instead I would search out the major density kings who excel at just "simple" dense packing. And thus Erdogan remains a recommend Turkish doc in your case.

Again, just because he (the doc you mentioned above) uses the same techniques as other elite surgeons does not make him elite by default.

Proceed with caution is the best advice I can give.

  16. Right guys

I have contacted Dr Kaan Pekiner, he does the whole procedure himself, manual punch extractions and stick and place implantation technique. He does 1000 grafts a day and my operation will take three days.

Is there a big difference between stick and place and the normal implant technique.

    Who?

Just because he's using a similar technique as other top tier surgeons do doesn't make him in their same level.

I wouldn't go with a never heard of surgeon who hasn't at least been vetted through patient experiences on HRN.

Hey but it's your money and scalp..
