Even the best physicians have a few less than satisfied patients for various reasons. While poor growth and bad scarring is rare in the hands of the elite, it can happen in a select few cases. Is there a particular surgeon you have a question about?
No, I'm just curious to know if people who have been through the HT experience are happy or unhappy with their decisions in retrospect. Some people might, for example, regret their decisions even if they didn't necessarily have poor results (and vice-versa).
Regarding the IAHRS, this organization is ran by Spencer Kobren who has his own set of standards for admitting physicians. My only point in mentioning IAHRS was to eliminate people who regretted their decisions because their HTs were performed by "hacks" rather than top-notch surgeons (not to be construed as meaning that every non-IAHRS surgeon must be a hack).

Has anyone here undergone a hair transplant with an IAHRS member surgeon and regretted your decision? Or are you glad you went through with your transplant, even if it didn't fully meet your pre-op expectations?

I just have a hard time justifying having a scar for the rest of my life in the donor area.
Perhaps this will ease your mind in that regard:

What part of the HT process did you find most difficult?

For those of who you have undergone hair transplants, what part of the process did you find most difficult (i.e., painful, uncomfortable) to deal with? Was it the anxiety leading up to your surgery day? Was it the procedure itself? Was it having your staples removed? Was it the immediate post-op recovery period? Was it apprehension over going out in public during your "ugly duckling" period? Was it the endless worrying over waiting for the grafts to start growing?
