How do I explain this?

What's wrong with the truth? It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Somehow, though, I feel like I'm missing something obvious and there's probably many legitimate reasons why someone would consider a piece over surgery, can someone tell me the advantages?

1) Hair systems don't require surgery.

2) Hair systems don't produce permanent scars.

3) Hair systems don't require long waiting periods for results.

4) Not everyone is a good candidate for a hair transplant, but nearly everyone can wear a hair system.

5) Hair transplant results can be unpredictable.

6) Hair systems aren't permanent -- if you don't like the results, you can give up wearing them or change them any time you like.

7) Hair loss is progressive; hair systems can keep up with ongoing hair loss easier than hair transplants can.

I read some great posts by NeedhairASAP on the baldtruth blog the other day about Gho, and how RCA continued to sell radios in the 40s when they had TVs in the 30s..

And, as I thoroughly documented there, the conspiracy theory about RCA "hiding" its television technology to sell more radios is completely erroneous.

I'm no expert, but looking at your "before" pictures, I'd have thought you needed considerably more than 1,800 grafts to achieve a satisfactory result in a single pass. Were you led to believe otherwise?

Travolta is just using a lot of concealer, its not a ht.

Lots of men worry about losing their hair. But instead of fretting about their beauty, it might make sense for them to count their blessings — because, by rights, bald men should probably be extinct by now. So why aren't they?

New Scientist has taken at look a that particularly interesting question in a wonderful feature, that tries to get to the bottom of why baldness should still be so widespread amongst the males of our species.

Why Haven't Bald Men Gone Extinct?

We are talking about thousands and thousands of years ago, maybe even before we considered homosapians, so I do not know if that holds any water.

I'd say it holds even more water, since thousands and thousands of years ago both reproduction and death typically occurred at significantly earlier ages, before one generally sees the onset of MPB.

I don't think #1 is very plausible, as MPB is something that generally occurs after the usual age of reproduction and therefore doesn't really drive evolutionary selection.

So what? The fact that one government agency did something reprehensible 40+ years ago means that all current government agencies are corrupt?

But of course, the Tuskegee experiment had nothing to do with the FDA.

A lot of people simply don't realize that there is a big difference between practitioners and that research is warranted. Being famous doesn't necessarily make one smarter or more knowledgeable.

I'd say it was probably the case, as someone suggested above, that (way back when) most men had already fathered their children by the time they began to go bald. Thus, since the baldness wasn't expressed until after mating, the propagation of baldness didn't depend upon women choosing bald men as mates, nor (in the lack of an understanding of genetics) did women have any means of avoiding mating with later-to-become-bald men.

So what is the potential for humans? Could the mouse experiment offer a remedy for balding in humans, specifically men?

I have heard of lot of people had bad experiences with no hair growing at all when they went to some unknown doctors.

It sometimes happens even when people go to known doctors. Unfortunately, not everyone's physiology is such that they respond well to hair transplants.

My question is when you go to a recommended doctor on this forum what are the chance that the hair growth will be much less than optimal result , like the result is less than 70 percent of the transplanted hairs grow.

There's really no way to quantify what the chances are of that happening. Using better doctors obviously enhances your odds for better results, but a non-growth outcome is generally due to factors outside the doctors' control and therefore not predictable.

I think the post is referring to the fact of younger patients undergoing HT surgery and experiencing future hair loss post surgery.

Or even older patients.

Not unless your livelihood depends on your hairline.
