In another post, Dr. PRose said the following: " A good HT can be undetectable. This is especially true for individuals with light color hair and a fair complexion. Follicular unit transplantation allow us to achieve remarkably natural results. Individuals with dark hair and light complexions are more diffcult. " I am confused about this. Most of the great pics I have seen seem to be of those with dark hair. I have dark hair (pitch dark black) and light brownish skin. Am I not a suitable candidate?

Anyone had any success in reducing body hair (especially beard growth rate) using Dutasteride or any other herbal products such as Saw Palmetto?

I think Mcenroe lives in NY where you seem to be. You can also get easy access to him at the Us open since he walks around the stadium every day He is never scared to answer any questions so you should try asking him his HT story yourself. At worse, he will insult you! I am VERY interested in celebrity HT results since we see these guys so frequently and can beleive it more easily than any of the pics on surgeon websites.

Alright I should have said "widely rumored" instead of "widely acknowledged". I read about it in some forum before and on the cover of a tabloid - I don't buy that crap. Just saw it on the cover page, but I didn't look inside to the page where the story was since at the time I was not balding seriously myself! Anyway, I for one do very much care about these celebrities. Basically, they have the most money for cosmetic procedures. If they get good results fronm the best surgeons, it gives me more confidence. But than Tom Arnold was foolish enough to go to Bosley, and I would be very please with those kind of results. When these celebrities go to the best doctors, cosmetologists, dermatologists, hair stylsts, Botox Clinics etc... you would think they would also chose the best surgeons for HT's wouldn't you? The guy was completely balding at a ceremony I saw on tv about a year back. Now, he seems a lot better, although still balding. I wonder if Dr. Woods in Australia helped him since Mel lives there? It has been widely acknowledged that the guy had work done.... but I wasn't too impressed by the results if it was Woods - pure speculation here. Most patient pics shown on this and other sites tend to be white males (although they do have all types and colors of hair). I am of Indian origin (meaning from India the country and NOT native American!). I would like to hear from other patients or surgeons regarding the success they have had on nonwhite patients - especially Indian/or Middle Eastern/Iranian/Pakistani etc... since we have similar looks to an extent. I have heard that some races have smaller follicular units and fewer clusters of more than two hair follicles? Also, redheads apparently have less hair even in the donor area than other races? Is this true? Finally, are hair transplants more successful on curly hair or on straight hair such as the type Chinese and Oriental men have? Thanks for reading this. I really need to know about this, especially from surgeons. It seems like almost all the people who have had a HT on this forum are caucasian!

I am in another forum (regarding a surgery I had for something else) and only two surgeons responded to a similar question. We than had board members call up surgeons and ask these questions in person and then post the responses here. Can people here who have knowledeg of these statistics or who have had transplants with specific surgeons post what they know here. Am I the only person who thinks this would be useful? Especially since we are not only asking the number of total surgeries, but also the number of surgeries a surgeon has performed using all methods, including the newer follicular ones. kilimanjaro

That is really amazing! How did you manage to harness so much donor hair? Do females tend to have better results than men when it comes to transplants? Her new hair looks so full.... is she pretty much bald in the donor area now? That first picture was really shocking and I was so happy to see this lady's success. Out of curiosity, can you disclose how much it cost the lady over the three years?
