  1. i've never had a problem wearing a hat through security. I guess every airport has some of their own rules. I'd just go with the hat, if they ask you to take it off, tell them you had surgery on your scalp and request a private room to take your hat off or just pull it off right their and give a good scare to the security guard. You'll never see him again, who cares what he thinks.

  2. im pretty sure you can take out a student loan without your school knowing. either way it doesn't matter, a student loan can legally be used for paying tutition, buying books and school supplies, paying room and board, etc. I highly doubt your school would investigate your spending of a student loan, and even if they did it would be hard for them to find what you spent it on. I wouldnt worry about getting in trouble for spending it on something other than school. I have plenty of friends who have taken out student loans and used the money on other things. You will most likely need a co-signer so you probably will have to discuss this with your parents. Dont be afraid to talk with them about it, im sure they want you to be happy and will help you.

  3. i can relate to you aaron. I'm 25 and using the last thats left of my educational fund to have my HT. I'm going to have to take out a student loan to finish my degree. I didn't want to have to use my educational fund for this, but there was no alternative. I tried all the healthcare financing with no luck. Like you, my credit limit is only 500. I had to explain to my parents what i was going to use the money for, they were very understanding and didn't object. My dad still has a pretty good head of hair, but both my moms brother and father is/was completely bald. She knew it was a very hard thing to deal with. I would say talk to your parents about it, I think they will understand.

  4. i guess you should do what you feel is in your best interests. If money is an issue and you could be happy living with a shaved head then i would say shave your head and start taking finasteride if your not already. I would say atleast try shaving your head and see if you can live with it.

That article hardly worries me. The guy who wrote it may have been duped by an unethical surgeon who claimed to be a wonderful surgeon. Whats with the color change? Was this guy writing an article or trying to make art? Seems like a fraudulent article. Also, nobody pays 128,000 for a hair transplant, i dont care how many grafts your getting.

  5. there are 3-4 great surgeons from new york listed on this website. just click on the the coalition surgeons tab in the top left corner of your screen and you will get a list of the best HT surgeons in the country.

Bosley, Hairclub, etc are just interested in your money and could care less how your results turn out. Do not step foot in one of those places.

  6. i hear ya, thanks for your concern. I know we discussed this before. I'm only gonna do it for a month for reasons i stated above. I have felt no side affects or had any issues since i started the prescription. After a month i'll go down to 1.25mg (2 more weeks). A doctors opinion would be nice though. I just can't see how an extra 1.25mg a day would have such a dramatic effect (on my prostate) as opposed to just 1.25mg a day.

  7. an enlarging prostate gives you the urge to urinate more often, not a shrinking prostate.

I just started taking finasteride a couple weeks ago. I take 2.5mg finasteride a day, and im going to for a month. Im hoping the extra dosage will help jumpstart the regression of my hairloss. After a month, i will go down to 1.25mg a day. I was worried about the possible sexual side affects but i've had no problems.

My insurance also covered my proscar. I only pay a 10 dollar co-pay. I was very happy about that, finally they actually covered something i need.

  8. wow didn't know that. thats good, i feel very comfortable with Tessler, i haven't even met Aronovitz, yet atleast. The hairline we designed at my consultation is exactly what i wanted.

on average how many cm wide is the average human head temple to temple? Trying to get an idea of how many 1 hair grafts i would need at a density of 50 cm2 for my hairline. I have a good frontal forelock, just need the sides filled in and some extra density scattered around the frontal 1/3.

  9. Tessler for sure didn't retire. I met with him at my consultation and discussed everything with him. Maybe Aronovitz will be performing the surgery, but nobody said anything to me so i assume its Tessler. Ya they arn't really mega-session surgeons but im only getting 1500 grafts.

  10. do velous hairs in your donor strip count toward your graft number? I would think they shouldn't since they are so small and don't make any cosmetic difference.

Also, whats a good density per cm2 for the hairline? I'm getting 1300-1500 grafts. all my hairloss is restricted to the hairline/temples and some diffuse thinning through only the frontal 1/3.

    Thanks for any help

  12. ya im hoping to get a digital camera so i can post my results each month. Im currently on 1.25mg finasteride.

I asked my doctor about the scalp exercises and he said in my situation it isnt really necessary. He said for large mega-sessions it is recommended, but im only getting 1200-1500 grafts. However, i think im gonna do them anyway since they can't hurt.

  13. My HT is coming up soon, and i was just wondering if someone could verify the steps taken during the surgery. I assume after anesthesia is administered, the donor strip is the first process. after it's removed and the area is stitched up, the doctor begins making the incisions for the grafts, while the nurses dissect the donor strip. Once both are completed, the grafts are placed and you are pretty much done. Please tell me if im wrong or a little off. just want to know what to expect. Thanks

  15. my hair kinda looks like yours. mine is thinner in the hairline and thicker in the crown than yours. im getting 1300-1500 grafts on May 21st. I think you would be right in the same range. check out some of the coalition doctors. They consistently produce great results. I know there are a few from California. Dr. Keane in Arizona could be one you may want to check out. Also do get a script for finasteride.

unless you want to have your hairline lowered quite a bit, there really isnt to much room for over 2,000 grafts. Your risks of shockloss to native hair would dramatically increase with that many or more. I've seen people, with your minimal amount of hair loss, have great results with 1,000-1,500 grafts.
