  1. Thought of posting the pics...these are the pre-op and immediate post ops

Looks awesome! Right there you will get some great hair !

I think Dr. Gabel is as good as can be! The total package Hair Doctor! Great on the hair job then great on the sew up too.

Just a little white line for evidence it was even done!

    Looks wonderful on the start!

  2. Hello everyone, thought Id ask a quick question since coming accross this thread.Iam right at 8 week s also on a second precedure into existing hairs from HT 1 and I must say for me, I still feel lots and lots of prickly stubble still.Maybe its possible I am lucky or do I still have some time to experience some shockloss also?

I think your good! 8 weeks they are growing! Amazing how hair put in right will really grow. Seems like a lot of hair comes off a good strip too!

  3. Stop worrying and accept that YES it will happen, make peace with it, and realize that you are embarking on a "big picture" journey that will be worth it in the end. It's temporary and will be forgotten about within a few months. Easiest/best way to go. If it doesn't happen, you are one of the few lucky ones...but don't count on it.

Yes it takes a little time to get looking like it should but it's not bad.

At 4 months after the first two I was cutting the hair and it was in full swing.

Had a 3rd last month. General thickening this time. It's moving some already!

  4. My head is covered in scabs 12-days post op. Is it OK to leave them be to naturally fall off or better to wash out gently with warm water? They don't itch or bother me in any way.

Soak and shower GENTLE massage them use Johnson's Baby shampoo!

Even twice a day is ok !

If they are heavy I'd keep spray bottle of water weting them down.

Mineral oil too on heavy scab area's!

    No finger nails please.

  5. Been gone for while but I went back I went back to Dr Gabel today and got another 2220 grafts 4476 hairs to thicken the previous results of a if I remember since this was 6 years ago. I had pretty good hair and felt great but decide why not go thick!:o

This had good hair but was shaved short and you see this will be dense!

    Poor camera though!:(

Two procedures of 3850 and 3500 which totally turned things around for me finally great

hair but I went back to thicken and add some. Can't wait till it grows out!

Can't express how good Dr Gabel and staff are! :)

If the is a natural at this it's, Dr Gabel!

    Pictures soon!

This is what he said:

"It is also well know that the average head has about 10-15% one hair grafts. Therefore in a person who gets a 4326 grafts transplant, they should get about 436 to 649 single hair grafts. They quote a total of 2129 single hair grafts!! The only way to do this is to cut the two and three hair grafts into one hair grafts. Most doctors think that this is not a good way to go since you will lose density. Single hair grafts produce less density than doubles or triples. However, some doctors claim that at least the patient has some hair there even if it is only a one hair graft. Furthermore, most doctors charge by the graft so the cost is significantly higher. For example, typically 2500 follicular units will have about 250 singles and about 2250 double and triples in equal ratios. If we cut up all the doubles and triple into singles we will get about 3375 ( 2250x0.5x3) + 2250(2250x0.5x2) + 250= 5875 single hair grafts. YOU do not have 4326 real follicular units to give in one sitting ??“ no one does"

    Please comment, thanks!

very interesting you should make a whole post of this as I think you maybe right least it makes sence as you donor strip can only be so big and yield only so much. So how can they

do 6000 grafts at once without spliting them?

Should not weepy on the scar at 7 weeks. The fast growth is possible as my posted

photo's show at 10-11 weeks. I had cut it a couple times already. I think the 2nd tranplant

iis doing better. because on the first I didn't use any ice till day 2-3.Too late! This time I used ice right away and had much less swelling and the scar looks better faster too. So I am expecting the fast result this time because the great first time was even a little better the second.

He claims that it works just like breast implants except the implants are hard as rock not soft like breast implants. I would appreciate any help that you can offer. I am desperate to have a big, really big biceps and this might just be the answer to my prayers.

I would just have them put some baseballs under your skin in the proper place for that "Popeye

    the Sailor look"

That's terrific. Do you happen to have the link handy to your first result? I'm sure I saw and even commented on it, but it's probably been awhile.

Yes, I did see the eyelashes case. I can only imagine how delicate and careful the surgeon has to be to make recipient incisions in such a small and sensitive area.

    Happy growth!

    Bill

    Bill I found it here!

    Dr Gabel"s result post!

In this post! Amazing how good I look! At 4 and 1/2 months! My graphs are fast starters

After nothing up there. Now full coverage growing in soon! Almost forgot he built up up the temple area also! During the second trip!

  10. Dr Gabel posted my results from the first and I sure the second will show pretty soon.

Pat himself was at Dr Gabels office last time.

I got to meet Pat and he loved my result.

Do you see where he gave a woman that had no eyelashes 30 new ones on each eye lid? Amazing talent Dr Gabel has!

  11. Yes. Dr Gabel takes step by step, photo's and video's. I know I have a new car sitting on my head. But I would do it again no doubt!

I feel really lucky to pick such a fine Doctor. Who cuts his own blades. Does his own consultations. So you meet him personally!

To plan what YOU want for a result. Then he checks your donor area closely. He did 3825

then 3500. Plus he is a plastic surgen so the scar and strip removeal is no worry.

Another thing I like is he won't attempt a procedure without a full strenght crew. One was sick so the appointment was moved ahead.

Dr Gabel explained the IMPORTANCE of everyone of the support staff. Same staff he had a year ago for my first. Then He did one better. He added in a another crew member with a lot of experience (7 years)from another Clinic mentioned here in from Phoenix. They did another super job and I was on the way home by 5pm. Just got my stitches out today!

And though these physicians deserve the online accolades they receive, the experience and hard work of the medical technicians and office staff plays a significant role in the success of the surgery.

These "unsung heroes" are largely responsible for regularly performing the important but tedious tasks of carefully trimming grafts under microscopes and placing delicate grafts into recipient sites without damaging them.

Each member of the surgical team must be on their game in order for the hair transplant procedure to be a success. One technician improperly trimming or placing grafts could amount to a significant amount of wasted follicles and a much lower hair growth yield.

Surgeons are often publicly recognized more because they are ultimately responsible for the work of the entire surgical team and the end result. However, each member of the surgical team plays a significant role in the final outcome of the surgery. Large ultra refined hair transplant sessions are only possible today because quality surgeons employ a large and experienced staff who can handle grafts quickly, accurately, and safely.

Kudos to the dedicated medical technicians and office assistants who work hard alongside elite surgeons to ensure the end result is as good as it gets.

Recently, we recognized a number of world class physicians who attended the Annual 2008 ISHRS Conference in Montreal. See the Highlights of the Annual ISHRS Scientific Meeting.

I've been in touch with forum member Ailene who is the Clinical Supervisor for Dr. Jerry Cooley and asked if she'd be willing to share her experience with the ISHRS Assistants program. Unfortunately in the past, this program was largely unrecognized. Ailene was the chair of the Assistants program last year and like other dedicated staff members participating in this program, this is a volunteer position.

I trust she will respond to this thread shortly.

    Best wishes,

    Bill

A-men, You really have to have both, A great Dr and support staff to really assure your best chance for the best result.
