  1. Q - i would avoid the hassle..and definitely let someone who has actually removed staples before, do yours...Doug from HW did mine, and he definitely knew what he was doing..but i could see where it would be pretty tricky for someone who hadn't done it before...also, if you screw it up, those babies can really bleed on you...i only had one "bleeder", but it opened up pretty good..

  2. reading up on this subject on the internet, most comments are that there is very little difference in healing characteristics between suturing and stapling..negligible at best...having had 4 back surgeries in my "youth", 2 closed with staples, 2 with sutures, i can tell you that the staples are MUCH less annoying and painful than suturing..

using underlying dissolving sutures probably makes sense where the donor strip is fairly large, and closing the wound will be a bit tight...using the underlying sutures just allows a stronger bonding of the tissue while its healing...less risk of scar stretching...but im sure between Dr. Wong and Hasson, its just a personal preference,as I have heard no complaints from patients of either one, about their scarring...

  3. I've been on propecia for over 4 years...no body hair loss whatsoever...BUT, my body hair DID increase in quantity all over once i started MSM...i had very little hair on my upper legs for instance..now, its covered with some fine short blondish hair mostly..and the lower legs are more dense with normal leg hair as well...go figger..

  4. pretty much normal Gmoney....probably as you cut it over the next few months, the remaining hair shafts will take on the normal characteristics of your hair...

its similar to when someone loses their hair during chemotherapy...their hair does grow back, but its thin and curly usually for about a year, then tends to go back to its normal condition....

  5. 4 -

certainly cutting back on your propecia "might" help...but there is also the post cosmetic surgery let down that many people have..its a real thing they are finding..makes sense, when you think of how excited people can get if theyre having a life changing surgery, whether its their hair, eyes, lipo, or whatever..physicians are finding that many are suffering this letdown of sorts as patients lives get back to normal, and theyre not pumping near the adrenaline through their system as before...

try a good multivitamin and some aerobic excercise if youre not already doing so..thats as good a cure for minor depression as there is..good luck!

  6. HT -

you know, I just cant tell if there was any shockloss or not, to be perfectly honest...if i had any around the scar,it was very minimal, because it sure didnt show...

in the donor area, since my existing hair was buzzed, then grew back a bit before the new stuff, there may have been some, or none at all..i really couldnt tell you...it all looks good to me now...

  7. HT....i experienced my first growth in the frontal hairline...and now the top is catching up...and the crown is just now starting to fill in....I was informed that this is the case in pretty much everyone...who knows why the crown takes longer, but it eventually gets there..

  8. My dermatologist said I had _telogen effluvium_, a condition where a high percentage of hairs are in the resting phase. This condition is often caused by emotional or physical stresses. I was wondering if excessive alcohol consumption could be the cause of this problem? If anyone has any info or opinions on this I'd really appreciate it.

    Ankur

Ankur...I'm theorizing that constantly puking your guts out after binging might cause a bit of stress....I suggest stop the alcohol, switch to Black Tar heroin, and you won't give a rusty butt about your hair loss....

  9. hhmmm has to be said that I get genric finestride from CIPLA who are a huge compny in india,

    there generics have proved fine

Bald..just curious what you mean by "proved fine"??...you mean you had it tested for heavy metals and arsenic, as well as the "stated" level of the active ingredients?...if so, id be curious where one can have that done....thanks

  10. phone man...

someone posted something about Bosley not using microscopes in all their facilities yet...not sure who mentioned it, but it wouldnt surprise me...scary to think they have different techniques depending on which town youre in ..

  11. Farishta...

during my procedure with Dr. Wong, he counts out loud during the recipient site preparation and with each count of 100, he then marks it on a white board right there in the room...As the day progressed toward the end, only then do the doctor and techs REALLY know what the final graft count will be, as they are cutting grafts all day in my case..they do estimates of it all during the day, but until the end, they dont really know the actual number...the doctor doesn't want to make more slits than they have grafts, so they are constantly checking towards the end of the day, to match up slits with available grafts...

  12. social drinker...

not only will it probably not contain the active ingredient it says it does, but even worse, you run the risk of shoving aresenic, lead, etc.. into your system....this is no bs, labs are testing this stuff and finding very dangerous levels of these poisons in all drugs produced in india and mexico, not just finasteride..

  13. just a warning here....

try to find out WHERE the drug is produced, not necessarily where its sold..many internet companies buy their drugs from manufacturers in Mexico or India or some other non-regulated country...the drugs you get from there are likely not to contain the active ingredient..and are manufactured so sloppily as to contain poisonous metals and arsenic...

  14. the guy had SEVEN mini and micrograft sessions on his head...it must look and feel like a cobblestone road by now...no wonder nothing grew eventually...the surgeons were probably punching punches in the later sessions...his first session was in 1990....that seems like the Dark Ages right now....
