  1. I just wanted to know if i was the only one with a density line at the back my head? I have had two strips for 7000 grafts, the scar is not viewable at all but when i cut my hair with a number of clipper you can see a line at the back of my head, a line that is visible only because of the sudden increase/decrease in my hairs density. Will this get better with time? i am currently 3 months post op (second surgery)? tks

  3. it depends on your own pahysiology.. i took it for like a month and I hated it.. I was having sexual side effects, I also started to have uncomfortable feeling from my liver.. I personally dont recommend it... my physician who is a brilliant doctor told me to stay away from any thing that is chemical and has an effect on how your body functions...... He also said that no one really knows what the long term effects of this drug will be on each individual. but i am sure there is plenty of people who loved it on this site. so like i said depends on your physiology
  4. Vincehair I had profused thinning so it was easier to go for a big session since they could spread the grafts all over the place. I can't really say how good the results were, there is definitley an overall improvement but i had pretty good coverage before the hair transplant... if my native hair fell since the surgery than the results are great but if they didn't than i would say it was not very good (no way of knowing for sure) Bill you are correct the grafts from my first surgery were primarily used on my hairline and temples... on the second surgery i also heard the nurse ask the doctor if he wanted more ones.. to which the doctor said no since we were working primarily on the crown with a bit going in the front and the temples. I am starting to really doubt the graft count i was given by this doctor... does anyone know what the average grafts per CM square should be for someone with good hair density? I want to get a better idea of what he actually harvested. P.S the doctor does not keep track of the counts (how many 1s 2s and etc..)
  5. Yes he did remove the first scar... but to be fair i had a very thin scar.... But you are right i was suspicious too when he said that. he was actually supposed to harvest 3500 grafts this time 500 less than last time due to the scar....
  6. So you are saying the doctor is lying... I wouldn't be surprised.... can any one tell me how many grafts i should have had on the stip if i am considered to have very good donor.. tks
  7. Hi Everyone I recently had my second mega session strip procedure and I am not sure if the yield of the strip makes sense!! My first one was done in December 2007, the size of the strip was 1.7 CM by 30 CM for a total yield of 4023 grafts. This give me a strip density of 78 grafts per CM ( if i am calculating it right) My second one was done in September 2008, the size of the strip was 1.6 CM by 26 CM for a total yield of 3922 grafts. This gives me a strip density of 94 Grafts per CM How can two strips have a different amount of density? is this normal? The procedure was done with the same doctor...... you thoughts would be appreciated thanks

  9. Will according to my own doctor 3500 is doable however i sent pics to two other doctors who said 3000 was doable.... Is it possible to have two mega sessions within 9 months of each other with 3555+ grafts everytime?
  10. Hi everyone I am scheduled to go in for a second transplant in a month... I have good lexivity and denisty in my donor area... During my first transplant 4023 grafts were transplaneted, is it safe to assume that the doctor can harvest another 3500 grafts on the second go? Or that is too much for a second transplant? I have profused hairloss and would like to get as many grafts as possible with this second transplant. Hopwever i dont want to pay more money for something that can't be accomplished Thanks thanks

  12. Thanks for the responses... just to clarify, what i meant is hair loss due to MPB and my question was more like are all the hairs on your head vulnerable to DHT.. to use an example; lets say you have 100 hair per cm2.. can it be possible that only 50 of those 100 are vulnerable to DHT.. hence your balding will stop when you shed the 50 since the remaining hairs are not vulnerable to DHT... I hope that clarifies what i meant. thanks
  13. I was wondering, can hair loss simply stop by itself? What i mean is, if it is possible for only some of the hair on your head to be genetically vulnerable to DHT? I am not referring to the donor area, i am referring to the crown, top and front of your scalp. Is it possible for only some of the hair in this area to die out, while the rest are immune to baldness? Just curious because I have a diffused hair loss pattern and was wondering if it was possible for it to stop at a point or does it continue until you lose all of you hair in that area?
  14. Thanks for the reply Wanthairs well I had a diffused pattern... the only part that was more visible in terms of hair loss was my crown.... in essence i did the procedure as preemtive surgery so my thinning would never become too visible... Given the fact that the only significantly visible part was my crown I was sure they would address it at least with a very limited number of grafts... (like 100 to 200) I asked the same question to the doctor performing the surgery at the time he was making the incision and he told me that because we were doing a 4000 strip we will have enough to cover the whole thinning spot!! only for me too see it was never done. Someone else told me it's logical to assume that some grafts should have been placed their as well given the info above. Thanks
