  1. So.. I'm a 19 year old female, I've noticed my hairline has been receding for several years now. I would say the sides have receded about an inch... and there is some thinning on the top of my scalp. How common is it for women to experience this type of hairloss? I know this runs in my family, my dad and his sister both are balding. I find it odd that my i have male pattern baldness, I've never come across another female with it. Everyone tells me I'm seeing things, but I know I'm not. It is obvious to me that my hair line is not where it should be... I usually just cut bangs to try and conceal it, but it is starting to creep out. I used to be really freaked out about losing my hair, it's a huge blow to my self image... It's hard to be a woman and have to worry about this. I find it petty that people are so judgmental about such things but that is how our society is... So bottom line, I try not to let it get to me, I know stressing out won't help. Still, I want to look into getting this fixed... The best thing would be to have the sides filled in, maybe even just a half an inch... I'm curious about what my options are, what I can do with my extremely limited budget, etc etc. I live in Chicago and was wondering if anyone can recommend a surgeon from the area. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. thankss
