  1. After my first ht, no problem with not hitting head. This time I must have become unlucky, clumsy and injury prone. 16 days out I hit my head inside the back of my station wagon. Not hard enough to feel pain (I would not think twice about incident if I did not have a ht) but hard enough to have the felt interior top hit the "pine needles" on the top of my head. Per discussion with the resident doctor who assisted with the procedure, he has never seen a hair transplant "compromised" 16 days out by such an incident. Is is correct to assume that after 10 to 14 days, the grafts are in there? I did not see any grafts or blood etc. but can there be damage underneath the scalp that can't be seen?

  3. Dear members: I had a second ht to thicken up crown, but, I did not realize that some grafts were placed higher (i.e. on the top of my head )than the first ht. This morning not realizing this; I accidently may have touched some of the top of these grafts while I was gently "hand combing" my hair in the front where there are no grafts. No blood, no feeling of pulling, no pain and no visable loss of any grafts ( no brains either). How can I tell if I ruined any of the grafts? Anything I should do? Sincerely, Feeling very stupid
  4. It has been 18 mos since h.t. I had 600 grafts on crown with some success. I will go for #2 with same doctor using "thicker grafts" 300 to 500 to thicken the crown. Could anyone with a similar experience share their results. What are the risks in gaining density such as shock loss? Also, my scalp still gets a bit red/pink and itchy in the h.t area if I stay in and out the sun for a couple hours. Is this normal or simply another reason for more grafts?

  6. In the past, I used ACE's U.S. manufactured hard rubber combs which worked well for fine hair. The company was bought, the combs were made in China with a reduction in price and quality. Now they are made in the U.S. again but the quality is not like the original. Are there any hard rubber combs with thick teeth similar to the "old" ACE combs that work well with fine hair?

  10. It has been 10 mos after h.t. Is it o.k. to massage scalp? I understand it is good for blood flow to stimulate growth , but is it safe?

  12. Thanks for the reply, but the area is not inflamed it looks quite normal. I have heard that the pain can be from hair grafts coming through that were implanted deeply. Does this make sense? At 9 months, I would expect that the grafts are secure and there should not be any problems?
  13. During the last month, I have experienced intermittent pain, similar to pain from an in-grown hair but a bit more intense, in an area where I had grafts. It has been 9 mos since my h.t. Has anyone else had similar experiences? What is the cause?
  14. It has been 8 months since H.T. Today, when I was gently combing my hair, the comb got caught in tangled hair in the h.t. area. I felt the "pull" and let the comb go. No hair on the comb but felt the pull for a while. Could I have damaged any of the grafts? Aren't they safe by now?
  15. After 7 months, I still have some redness and it appears that my hair is not as full as a month ago. Is this unusual?
