Planning HT with Dr.Yaman or Dr.Turan

Hi Everyone,

I am now embarking on the path of hair transplantation. I have a NW 6 and i am now 36 years old. Haven't had surgery before and will now use Mixonidil.

Dr Yaman made me an offer for 4500 grafts. I am a native Turkish speaker but live in Germany. According to the findings, my donor area is excellent and my density probably allows this.

I also have Dr. Turan consulted and is still waiting for an answer. I'm curious whether he will reject me or accept me. Nevertheless, I will have surgery this year.

I haven't had any measurable hair loss for years and I think it's time to get myself back in style.

I would be happy to hear back from the forum about which option you prefer.

Dr.Bicer should be perfect but so should their asking price. I'm not vain enough to spend the money for her, but vain enough for an operation. 😄

Indeed your donor looks strong enough. So you are a good candidate for a hair transplant..

Both turan and Yaman are great options. You could also consider Dr Gur who belongs to FUECAPILAR like dr Turan. Have you contacted Dr Gur? Dr Gur is a bit more conservative than Dr Turan.

In general If i was a higher norwood i would select dr Yaman, since i have seen more cases from Dr yaman in higher nowroods in which he gave them great coverage. if i was a lower norwood i would select Dr Turan. So in your case i would select Dr Yaman, but Turan and Gur should be good too. Another option would be Dr Demirsoy at similar cost. Good luck !

Thank you for sharing your experiences with me.

I was about to book with Smiles but then found out about this forum through research.

I am a medical professional myself and am therefore totally caught up in the topic.

Dr. Aygin was also briefly available for selection but received various positive feedback about Dr. Yaman encourages me to consider it with Dr. Yaman.

I'm just surprised it has so few reviews on Google or Trustpilot. also at Proven Expert.

At this point I would also like to thank all the other people who run this forum and also share their experiences and knowledge.

Do not trust google reviews...the best thing to do is to search about the doctors you are interested on this forum or other forums in the internet and check their patients threads. Where did you hear about smile and Dr aygin?
Dr Yaman has many good results on this forum, which you could have a look by typing his name on the search bar.

Finally you should also start finasteride to stabilise your hair loss.

A good friend of mine is an anesthesiologist and does aesthetic treatments such as hyaluronic acid and botox as well as prp. He advised me against finesterid. I have recently started using minoxidil. I don't want to take any hormones in this form systemically.

Of course, social networks and the Google search engine led me to Dr.Aygin and Smiles. where Dr. Aygin seems much more serious than Smiles.

I suggest you check out Haircafe on YouTube. Dispels a lot of myths about finasteride. Yes, even doctors can be wrong about finasteride. Most of the side effects of finasteride are nocebo from internet fear-mongering and even if they do occur they will go away when stopping the drug.

I wasted years because of the fear of finasteride and now I'm sitting here with a below average donor and need to somehow get 6000 grafts to get a decent result.

Nobody "wants" to take finasteride. But the reality is that the fear is mostly BS. I have not experienced any issues on 1.5 mg of dutasteride daily, which is far stronger than finasteride.

Finasteride has a low chance of side effects though. You could even try low dosage of finasteride.
Dr Yaman has an option for a 2-day surgery up to 6000 grafts with manual punch. You could ask for that option too if you dont want to do another surgery. Or do one day surgery this year and do another one next year if you want the maximum result.

Thank for your advice , i will have a Check in that.

I was offered an operation because it was assumed that my hair would set the front well and the tonsure could be thickened a little. Since I will be wearing my hair longer, I would like to let it grow first so that I can have the tonsure completed in the future if necessary. As I said, I'm not that vain.

Hey mate, I am the same age and similar Norwood. Potentially a little worse. I’ve already booked my surgery with Dr Yaman on 30 May 2024. Flying from Australia to get this done! All the best!
