harrier96
Hi all, I'm 27 and have been taking topical minoxidil for 3 years or so - not opposed to fin but haven't tried it yet. I asked for a quote on a transplant and was told to try finasteride for 9-12 months and come back for another consultation. Would you recommend that I do the same, and why? I'd like to fix my hairline asap and I'm happy to do fin postop, so would like to understand the reasons behind this. I'd also like to know whether there's a hairloss stage where a transplant is most effective, and if it is worth waiting in general. Will attach some photo. Senior Member Big Rome Posted December 20, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted December 20, 2023 fin might be really good for you to keep hold of or even regrow some areas. I myself am going to try a topical finasteride solution if I can find a reputable source in the near future

I'm just wondering what the point is in waiting to see fin results before I get a transplant
Senior Member Big Rome Posted December 21, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted December 21, 2023 (edited) because if fin is really good for you & you regrow some hair and vastly improve your donor area and top of your head, you’ll need less grafts and any weak hairs that would have been permanently lost due to shock loss may not be lost after surgery with fin, there’s many reasons 😊 Edited December 21, 2023 by Big Rome
