The short cut they take is he puts larger incisions for crown and puts double grafts. I would rather have not had that done. My crown feels like there is some scaring  . Live and learn . The only reason I went to him and trusted he was good is because number one he’s the only guy in town and has been in business for a while My surgeon referred me to him. I don’t think my plastic surgeon knew he wasn’t the best at it .  I think he just knew he was the only guy in town and heard of him . I wish I would have known about this site . Very informative. I’ve learned a lot and now moving forward will make better decisions. I’m not giving up . I’m gonna meet with Dr Pinine in February . To talk about the front and 3 months later go back for my crown . I’m not gonna do both at the same time . I want to focus on one area at a time. I also asked holt for my pics he took before and they didn’t respond . When he showed me them at 6 months my head looked way worse then pics I took . Wondered if he photoshopped them to make them look worse so it makes him look like a miracle worker . Lol

He used the artist robot . I wasn’t gonna do it if he was going to cut a strip . He never said anything about it looking like buck shot . He is totally unethical. He also gets u high on drugs so you don’t remember anything. He gave me two pills before he started and i was looped

@Impact He also told me that using FUE would make the back of my head look "moth eaten". Being that I've had an FUE since, he obviously was not telling the truth. He even went as far as to tell me that I would look good. Obviously that was not true either. Deception is the game, fake it until you make it except that he'll never make it. If he's not good now, he'll never will be.

The neograft has a bigger tip on it than the artist robot too and it still doesn’t look like buck shot . I’m surprised he doesn’t push the robot . It is 6.50 a graft . I paid him a lot of money .  I had an infection on my left side and when I went back for 6 month post opp I noticed the tech that installs graft was typing on the computer with bloody surgical gloves . She went back to install grafts and I bet 100 dollars she didn’t put new gloves on . She kept leaving the room while working on me and never put new gloves on . The side she worked on had the infection . Very unprofessional.

@Impact The artas robot is very controversial on these forums and most reputable doctors use handheld motorized punch tools. Did you know what size the punches are on the artas? Holt went above and beyond to convince me that FUT is a better method than FUE, saying it's the gold standard and better for my dark hair. The results were terrible and now I have a scar.

Yuck, that is disgusting. Did you go back to him to treat the infection or did you see your primary care provider?

I read that the artist robot uses a smaller punch than the hand held neograft.  They are very close in size . The infection healed on its own. It wasn’t super bad. The top he used a bigger knife and put two follicles in one incision . I took a picture of the top and went to office max . Had it printed out and used a marker to count the scabs. I marked them so I didn’t count them twice . The reason I did this is because it didn’t look like 1100 . I counted 600 aprox . When I questioned the tech at around the 6 month post opp mark she said that’s  because they put two grafts in one incision. It was a terrible short cut because I was a super session and they could get more in my head at a shorter time. I did read that this is a technique. Maybe from the past . I think it can give u the doll head look. I was there for 13 hrs . My crown has small uneven bumps and scar tissue  . It’s not super bad but I would have rather not had them do it that way . That way is not the gold standard of today . It’s really not micro grafting like drs do now . I’m gonna have the crown redone a few months after I have the front fixed . From my experience with holt I’m only doing one area at a time .  The crown takes a few more months the be at 100 percent from what I read. Im gonna make an apt with Dr Panine for the Front around the end of March then have him do the crown end of June or something like that . I will have him evaluate both when I have my consult in February. I’m not giving up. 😁

I don’t see any scaring or buckshot on my head from the artist robot . I read that you can have micro pigmentation on the  scars   and if your hair is thin .  It makes it less noticeable.

I've read that the Artas causes much larger scars than manual punch tools and most on this forum look down upon the Artas. Any good surgeons is able to do FUE by hand and obviously Holt doesn't qualify.

The punch tool used in my last procedure was 0.8mm, it would be interesting to ask Holt if he knows the size of the punch on the Artas used for your procedure.

I doubt Holt actually gave me 1400 grafts. He quoted me 700 grafts for a second procedure and it scared me so much, I realized that I had been duped.

Consulted 4 docs recommended on these forums and they all said I needed ~2,000 grafts to correct the hairline. Ended up being ~2,400 with Dr. Panine.

@Impact

@Melvin- Admin Has covered the Artas on many occasions and did a good video last year on why it has been such a flop. Many of the recommended doctors on HRN's list dabbled with the Artas before dumping it. In the video, Dr. Mohebi suggests launching it into outer space, lol.

Your results don't seem too bad and your plan to get it reassessed by a reputable FUE doctor is a good one.

@Impact You can but SMP is not a silver bullet, it's literally a tattoo that looks like stubble. So it only works when you have a shaved head, once the hair grows longer; obviously the SMP'd part doesn't grow so it'll be noticeable.

I keep my hair long so the scar isn't an issue. Holt is neither good in FUT or FUE or anything related to hair restoration in general.

From the research I have done the neograft is way better. I agree with you  . The robot seemed invasive . Would never go through that again .

I don't think any robotic system or fancy gadget is good at this time be it Artas or neograft. Searching "neograft" on this forum is pulling up some troubling information.

I would view HT doctors as artists and you you should shop by their "paintings" instead of the "paintbrushes" they used.

The best of the best still use trusted manual/motorized punch tools.

Doesn’t Dr Panine use neograft ?

I don't think so, classic motorized punch tool. I remember hearing it throughout the procedure.

I don't know the specifics except that the punch size was 0.8mm.

Ok cool . For some reason I thought Dr Panine used the neo . You’re at your one year mark right ? Can you post a pic of what your procedure looks like now . Are you happy with the results? I’m basically following in your footsteps . You know more about this than me . I’m a beginner. I want to feel confident going into this second procedure. Thanks joe

I posted one year mark photos in another thread. Yes, I am much happier with the results the second time around.
