Sean9058
Hi all, This board has been extremely helpful in gathering information, much more positive than any other hairloss forum. My question is interesting and I'm a little lost. I noticed my hair getting thinner all over around the age of 23, I immediately hoped on fin and have been pretty stable for the past 6 years. I do belive that I am still SLOWLY losing ground, but my hair texture is and density is virtually the same since I started the medication. As the title suggests, I am a diffuse thinner in a NW6 pattern, currently sitting at around a NW 2.5/3. For the longest time I wanted to get my hairline worked on for betting framing of the face, it's bugged me forever but I wanted to ensure I could stabilise my hairloss on finasteride. Everyone says that you need to let your hairloss progress before getting an HT and not just get a hairline transplant done as you will lose hair behind it. I'm sutck in this limbo of stabilised diffuse thinning with recession but worried about further progression of my hairloss. I've been quoted around 1500-2000 grafts by a few doctors, but I wanted to see what this board's thoughts are on getting a hairline done knowing that the rest of the hair is destined for NW6. I have Toppik in my dry hair pictures, which LOVE, so my hair is thinning that what is projected. Thank you
Regular Member Pbaird98 Posted December 27, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted December 27, 2022 Hey, can we see some more pics without any toppik? Thanks Bro. Some people will switch to Dutasteride which is certainly more potent, what dose/days are you taking Fin?
Sean9058
Of course. I'll get some pictures as soon as I shower off and dry. I have full coverage with no scalp showing when dry, it's just thin and doesn't move how I like it without the Toppik. I take 1mg a day for the past 6 years. I tried to take DUT this past year and had MASSIVE acne like breakouts all over my face and chest (I'm assuming the increased T caused this). I really want to try DUT again but man I'm I afraid of that breakout happening again, since it lasted around 5 months.

Senior Member BurnieBurns Posted December 27, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted December 27, 2022 You'll want to get consultations with a range of reputable doctors. Some are hesitant to work with diffuse thinning while others are fine with it
Senior Member Henry Posted January 31, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 31, 2023 (edited) How old are you now? My hair is exactly like this but thinner. Every doctor keeps quoting me 1k to 1.9k grafts, which I really don't agree with, it's really frustrating. At certain angles or length I guess it would help but i want to grow out my hair, like really grown out. Edited January 31, 2023 by Henry
Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted January 31, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted January 31, 2023 @Sean9058need more pictures without toppik...and its great that you started medication ...that helped you to preserve you grafts...i would say you can even consider oral minoxidil and prp sessions before going for surgery cause both minoxidil and prp wud thicken you hair and may be you can avoid surgery 😊 Check Out My Hair Transplant Journey --> My Thread 3611 FUE Grafts With Dr Kongkiat Laorwong | Norwood 5 | 2nd May 2023
Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted January 31, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted January 31, 2023 @Henry its really difficult to grow like really grown up..and evn if anyone suggest that i wud rather advise you to preserve you grafts for future loss whnevr you go the surgery ...and specially if you are under 35...just go for a bit of conservative approach and plan for long term...and yeh try medication and prp and laser therapy ..in diffuse thinning medication and prp works well...
