The doctor I talked to said they take a blood sample, centrifuge it, and inject the plasma directly back into the scalp; it helps to keep the graft nourished, prevent hair loss, and help grafts grow. The doctor recommended 6 post transplant sessions, one every two months for a year.

My question, is this an up-sell for after the transplant? I can't seem to find anything solid about it online, and it seems maybe dubious, or at least unverified/untested. Has anyone done this? Any experience? Is it worth it?

The fact is most clinics do not know how to do PRP.  If you hear the word "sessions," run away in the opposite direction. This implies doing a few shots and have you return in the ensuing months to continue doing the same thing.  No results.  Research Fellowship trained surgeons with experience. Their approach is totally different.
