To be honest when I was doing research Vinci are a hair transplant company, they will try and sell you SMP if they can't sell you a transplant, personally I preferred a place that specialise just in just SMP, I had mine done at Skalp and can't recommend them enough

Thanks for response Mikey. From pics HIS, Skalp and Vinci are looking similar in terms of standard. I had consultation with Vinci and they offered the treatment after first asking me what I wanted to achieve. They could have shoved an expensive hair transplant down my throat but listened to what I wanted to achieve first of all

What stage are you at on the norwood scale? Vinci aren't stupid if they know you're not a good candidate for a transplant they would offer you SMP first and skip the trying to sell the transplant, what i'm saying is they might do SMP but it's not what they specialise in, they started with transplants then after a while they started offering SMP, not saying their work looks bad but I personally wanted a clinic that just did SMP it's a no brainer

I would say that I'm Norwood 4/5. I spoke to a well respected, impartial SMP "expert" over the weekend and he said the likes of HIS, Skalp and Vinci are all the best companies out there and produce similar quality results. I do get why you'd want a specialist SMP company but I think Vinci have been doing SMP since 2009 so plenty of years of experience and in that time have built up a reputation as one of the best. If I wasn't going for Vinci then I probably would fly over to the Manchester Skalp clinic.

I had an appointment today with Vinci in Belfast. It was more a conversation than an examination. It didn't last very long. We didn't look at pictures or discuss specifics. It ended with talk of me making a ?500.00 deposit. I couldn't make it right there so I'm being called tomorrow afternoon to make the payment.

I'm getting cold feet now I'm home over how fast it was and should I have to pay first before any decisions are made. I need to ask some more questions in this call, not just hand over my card details.

Yes, but I only saw one of them. The other was seeing someone else. I've been thinking about it for a few years, but I kind of expected to see someone in a consulting room and get some kind of examination. I'm going to ask more questions when I get the phone call. I like to see what they would do first.

I was taken into a private room. Maybe they were out of rooms the time you were there. They looked at my scalp through one of those microscope cameras to see if i would be suitable for a transplant too. You should definitely ask more questions. I rang Paul and spent about 30/40 mins on the phone to him one night and he answered everything I had. I've emailed Vinci staff a good few times as well so don't be scared to ask anything you're unsure of.

The results look good where a less straight line or heavy hair line is created. Slightly more broken up seemes to look more natural. I'm reading that the pictures can be slightly misleading, depending on the lighting. I'm also wondering if I have a realistic idea of the final result. The hairlines I think look much more real don't follow the crease lines on my own forehead at all. My original hair line was always high, big old forehead. Brow ridges that would give a cave man blushes. I've got a page full of questions written out now, they're be sick of me by the end.

Yeah more natural hairline does look best imo. Misleading in what way? I'm hoping that the pics are what it would look like in person! You should buy nanogen hair fibres or dermomatch and create different hairlines on your head to see what you think you would suit. Using these should give you an idea of what it might look like. I had about 3/4 pages of questions so I'm sure they're used to it!
