jgolder
I had a very successful 1st transplant of 5000+ grafts (with dense packing in front) about 5 years ago. Recently -- last 2 months -- have noticed some thinning in front. Wondering if related to my Blood Pressure med -- Lisiniprol -- I started taking 7 months ago. Thought I skipped the danger of hair loss by going with an ACE Inhibitor rather than a Beta Blocker, but now I see a lot of accounts online of thinning due to Lisinopril. Most of the research indicates that the type of hair loss due to BP drugs is Telogen Effluvium, and that the hair usually grows back after the drug is stopped. Wondering if anyone or any doctor in the forum has experience with or knowledge about this? Mostly want to know: 1) Will hair grow back once drug is stopped? 2) Are there any BP meds known to NOT cause hair loss? Thanks, James
Regular Member ForeverLacey Posted April 18, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted April 18, 2016 1) Yes 2) Hair loss is a common side effect for many drugs. You could look into Spironolactone.
