undefined88
hey guys, My scalp has begun to crack post-FUT at around day 6. There is no longer hair growing in these cracks. From my post-op instructions, scalp cracking is normal around 1 week and it may appear as if the transplanted hairs are missing. I'm really just in need of some positive affirmation that other people have experienced this and the hair grew in just fine in the end. And I was wondering if there is anything I should be doing to improve the cracking. I am also kind of curious as to whether anybody knows the physiology behind what is happening and where the hair went. Thanks in advance, much appreciated
Regular Member Diamondgl2 Posted July 30, 2017 Regular Member Share Posted July 30, 2017 Hi I noticed no one replied to your questions. Just curious cause I am 8 days post op and have cracks like you described. How did your HT turn out and were the cracks of concern?
Senior Member mattj Posted July 31, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted July 31, 2017 I know what you're describing and it's normal. It isn't a sign of lost hairs and it is actually more common in dense procedures. As the scabs form the hairs can be pulled together forming 'valleys' or what look like cracks running through the recipient area. This doesn't cause the transplanted follicles to be lost, so don't worry. I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal.
