Shockloss after FUE

Recommended Posts

I am 3 days post-op FUE from Dr. Wong in Vancouver. I am a NW 2.5 at the age of 23. I have been on minoxidil for one year and propecia for 6 months. I received 1110 grafts to the temple areas for a 'mature' hairline, knowing most-likely I will have to undergo more surgeries in the future. I am at a point financially and graduating from university that I believe I made the right decision. The surgery was great and am currently following all post-op procedures. My question is regarding the area between my temples. I have noticed a lot of shedding from the existing hairs in that area. I have researched shockloss throughout this forum and am curious if anyone has any input on my situation.

Hello,

It is normal in most patient for newly transplanted hair to shed almost completely in 2-4 weeks post op. I'm not sure if this is shock loss or just normal shedding. Either way the transplants hairs will begin growing in 3-5 months post op. I'm two months post op and in the same situation, the waiting game... http://www.ishrs.org/article/do-hair-transplants-really-grow-–-how-hair-transplantation-works-and-results-transplantation
