Guest
What percentage of shock loss hair will grow back after a HT? How long until the shock loss hair begins to re-grow. Nearly 2 months since my HT surgery and I still have zero confidence in the procedure. My doctor tells me that 90% of the grafts are growing. He says I could see some progress in 3-4 weeks and noticeable improvement in 2-3 months. Is this a typical timeline for results?

Senior Member NC30 Posted September 14, 2003 Senior Member Share Posted September 14, 2003 Varsity... Time varies from person to person. It could be month 4 or 5 before you start to see noticeable growth. That was my case. You just have to remember it's a year long wait before you'll know the full results. I'm only at month 6 (as of yesterday) and I still have a long long way to go. uncjim had some great recent posts about his 4-8 month results (I believe that was the time frame). From day one after my HT, I think focusing on the future has helped me maintain a positive outlook.
Guest
Yes, that's typical, but it can take longer. Most docs will tell you 3 months, but that's just an approximation for when the growth will start. Give it 6 months for a pretty good idea of the final result, but it could even be a year before you see the real final result.
