  1. That is a very empathic reply. We have your money. We told you wait for 18 months. Good luck to you. Don't call us we will call you.

Nice. Pretty much underscores the philosophy on your website. For what it's worth, here is what you say about patient consultants and their role:

'The majority of our patient consultants have been patients themselves, providing them with an understanding of the true emotional needs of a patient. They have been through the process and can provide first hand knowledge about the whole experience in a thorough and concise manner. Whether you meet a patient consultant, a patient coordinator, medical assistant, doctor or even a management professional, you will be treated in a compassionate attentive manner exceeding your highest expectations. '

  2. Wow. I can't figure out what Pats is saying. When he makes a statement that is misleading, you have to wonder how you can trust anything he says. Technically Pats is correct about deleting postings as the letter requests removing references to Armani et al. It is just a technicality though.

    For example:

    From Pats posting:

2- Our letter does not request you to delete postings but to stop making false statements. We encourage Bill to post the legal letter that was sent to you.

From the Baker & MacKenzie letter:

Dr. Armani and AlviArmani hereby demand that you immediately and completely cease and desist from making any further threats and/or disparaging statements to or about Dr. Armani and AlviArmani, and that you immediately remove from the internet all references to Dr. Armani and AlviArmani you have made in the past.

  3. Sorry to hear about your situation.

First and foremost you should probably get legal advice to determine what you will have to prove if you decide to sue the doctor. It is not as simple as showing that your HT was poor or inadeqate, you will need to demonstrate negligence on the part of the doctor. This will likely require expert witnesses that address what the doctor did or did not do. How likely will other HT surgeons be willing to come forward and testify against another doctor.

Perhaps more importantly though, a lawsuit will take alot of time. Is this really what you want? I think that you should get on with your life and take the settlement from the doctor, or perhaps counter with an offer to meet him halfway.

I am so sorry that your donor is now limited. There maybe other options available to you such as FUE or BHT. Good luck.

  4. LMS. I think that your last post is a great summary of what many of us are thinking. Let's be honest here, no one knows what future hair loss you can honestly expect so having surgery at a young age carries many risks - mostly for the patient but also for the doctor performing the surgery.

Had Unfortunate been an Armani patient many people would be all over this result arguing that Unfortunate should not waste his precious donor on a touch up procedure. Feller has come forward - directly. He has pointed out that risks that were evident at the time and argued that the result was not due to yield but to aggressive hair loss. I don't know. I just know the patient is not happy and he wants to get on with his life. He feels like the victim.

I am sure if they are talking they will work it out but thankfully Unfortunate shared his result with others so that they understand the downside to getting started in this HT process at too early an age.

  5. Hi Pats (Eric). As a follow up to my earlier comment, it is conceivable that you signed a similar contract after you had your first FUSS surgery with Armani as you had been a very active patient who documented your procedure in a forthright and clear fashion. That being said, you did have a FUE transplant and then shortly thereafter joined the Armani Clinic as an employee. In another thread on HLH - "Questions/Issues about the Armani Clinic" you further expanded on your role with Armani as follows:

    "Hey Everyone,

I want to clearify a few things for everyone. I am a former patient with the Armani clinic now working in Patient care. I help answer general questions on this forum, I am not a consultant, I am not a surgeon, and I am not Shane. If you have questions for Shane regarding things you have spoken with him about in the past or quotes he has made in threads, he has allowed me to provide you with his cell phone. He can answer much more detailed questions then I, as he has 10+ years experience in the field.

    Shane

    (contact information removed)

Nor am I a salesman. I do not work on commission. Most of the people that I speak with have already had surgery. I speak with patients over the phone who have already had their procedure and have questions regarding post op, what to expect etc. I speak with patients about gathering pictures so we can show and post more results. I also speak with people who are going in to surgery who have any general questions / concerns on what to expect as far as recovery is concenred.

Again, I am involved in patient care, and help answer general questions on this forum, provide pictures etc??¦.

    - Pats (Eric)"

Here you clearly state that you work for the Armani clinic. You do not indicate that you traded services for FUE grafts or that you are not being compensated.

This is what causes many of us on these forums to doubt what we are being told. It doesn't hold together. If we can't trust someone about something like an employment contract, how can we trust the clinic that the person represents to be truthful and transparent when it comes to a hair transplant.

We all want FUE to be a screaming success but your statements continue to undermine the credibility of the clinic and therefore of the procedures that are being performed and no amount of paid posters will change that. On the face of it, it appears you were a paid poster before you joined the Armani clinic in your Patient Care role.

Be transparent and honest and you will receive the respect of members of this and other forums.

  6. This has been an interesting thread which I think is very relevant as it speaks to the credibility of the assertions made by Armani and its representatives.

My recollection was that there was an announcement on HLH where Shane acknowledged that Eric (PATS) had become an employee of Armani.

That is in direct contradication to the contract that PATS claims is his which states that he is an independent partner and not an employee. Which is it PATS are you an employee or an independent partner? Do you receive cash compensation or just FUE grafts? Do you have the full documentation noted in the contract and if so why not post it to your blog that is suppose to be maintained?

On another thread on HLH titled "What's Your Problem with Dr Armani? you describe your role at Armani as follows:

I have alot of different duties wantego. I answer general questions on these forums regarding Dr. Armani and the clinic, post op questions from our existing patients who have them, I post patient results on here for people to see, I will answer general questions to all posters as I did before.

I also speak to a number of patients per day over the phone prior to their surgery, answering their questions about flying after surgery, post op care, what to expect during surgery, recover times etc. These might seem like easy questions to veterans on here, but to many who are going into surgery for the first time, or to those who have never been on a message board like this where so many questions are answered, they appreciate what I can explain to them and have lots of questions.

I also speak with people who have already had surgery. We discuss how they are coming along, what to expect in the coming weeks and months, I will also inquire about pictures, if they are willing to share their results etc...

I have seen alot of really great results in person thru the clinic. Some I really wish I could display on here, but we have to follow the wishes of the patient and their right to privacy. You'd be surprised how quickly most are to say no when asked if their pictures can be displayed online. So part of my job is to explain how we use the pictures and how helpful they can be to others etc??¦.

    My days are pretty full

But I do want to be clear, I do not sign people up for surgery and I do not work on any type of commissions.

    - Pats

That is quite different from what is contained in the contract that has been posted. So which is it PATS. Were you lying then or are you lying now?

  7. Thanks Hairbank.

Yeah it seems to be coming along. I have started to notice more hairs sprouting.

I must say I am surprised at how quickly the changes kick in considering I had my procedure in December 2006. The numbness in both the recipient and donor area is now gone.

Thus far no one has made any comments to me about my hair or the gradual changes that are occurring.

Looking forward to month 5 and 6.

  8. I have updated my photo album with 4 month photos. The hairline is starting to fill in. I can see the new hairs coming in at the temples. It seems like things are starting to happen but it is hard to tell when you look in the mirror every 5 minutes.

Not sure if the proscar has kicked in yet. It has only been 4 months on the meds as well.

  9. I have just included updated photos at the 3 month mark. Growth has begun and I am starting to see the hair line fill out.

The numbness is pretty much gone in both the recipient and the donor area.

  10. I recently had my first HT procedure. I want to thank all the members of this forum for all the information and insight regarding the HT process. As many before me have said, research and knowledge are the key in understanding the implications of having a HT. It is not a process to be taken lightly.

I had my procedure in Vancouver on December 21 with Dr. Hasson. I received 4000 grafts in one session. Overall my experience was positive. I have a tight scalp and have some post operation numbness to my scalp. I had some swelling but it disappeared after about 5 days. I removed my staples (87) today and feel good. I am back to work tomorrow.

I have started on proscar (every other day). I am not taking any other medication.

I am 47 and my hair loss began in earnest in my mid to late thirties.

I have attached before photos and photos after 7 days (the day I had my hair trimmed).

I have included updated photos as of three months out (or 96 days to be exact).

It looks like I had little or no shock loss of existing hair. I am starting to see the signs of some growth. This is where the fun begins. I am looking forward to a great summer.
