Yes, I have read that too much anesthesia does cause permanent shock loss.

Dr Feller's work is top notch, I'm not concerned about the results of his HT as things are going well. I'm six months and have much more growth to go...I can still feel, and see, new hairs coming through. My fingers and toes are crossed.

I wouldn't think twice about heading back to Dr Feller for the next HT if the cards bring me to that, we'll evaluate that in about a year.

Is your new scar only on one side, or does it go ear to ear. I wasn't sure from your comment. Sounds as though its only one side, ear to back?

He is a top doc as well, good luck and please keep us updated.

If you wish to, I posted pic's a couple of months ago if you want to have a look.

I may be looking for a similar treatment as you...I also had a procedure with True/Dorin in 2004, 1200 grafts, and the results were not very good...permanent shock loss from crown to front...IMO due to excess anesthesia. At the end of the session the tech said she pumped me with a lot of "the stuff" to help with pain. I was thinking as she was sticking the needle in me that maybe it was too much? Probably, Dr True may not have allowed that much to be applied, however he wasn't consulted.

Also, I have double hairs showing in frontal area as you do. It was a mistake that I dread. The 1200 grafts were distributed to the crown and frontal area, again IMO not enough grafts for the area treated. It just set me up to need future sessions. But in 2004 I didn't use this forum for research...again my mistake. Additionally, I only wanted the crown treated. I told True the front area I was fine with, but he suggested we place some grafts in front hairline and I listened to him. Again, my mistake. I'm not trying to bash True, just stating the facts as I see them. His work is posted on this forum and looks fine, I just think my procedure was a small one and didn't receive the necessary concern/oversight from him. See my post in June 08.

I have since, 6/08 w Dr Feller, had 1800 grafts in the front 1/4 ( 800 singles) to try to correct the problem. Still growing out so not sure where this will end, but I do know that the entire procedure was more professional all around with Dr. Feller...again IMO.

I'm not sure if I will need another session, and not sure at this point if I have donor to have another. If I do go in for another run, I'm thinking to have a similar session as you to treat the front again to thicken things up.

SO, I'm definitely off my point, I got carried away with sharing my experience with True/Dorin. How long was your scar from Dr E? Ear to ear?

    Thanks

Things look fine at 5 days, soon the scabs will be gone and the "cover up" will be easier.

Question...for 1300 grafts, do you have the 1,2,3 hair count? Also, how long was the scar? Ear to ear, or smaller for only 1300 grafts? I'm asking because I'm looking at similar HT.

    good luck bro

I only had one noticeable pimple that I used this on, had a couple of very small ones that no one could see. Whenever I felt that a pimple may be forming I used this technique and didn't have any pimple issues.

Of course, it also may have been the result of the great HT work by Dr. Feller and his staff.

Follow the same road as Martin....see how things go for a year or two before pulling the trigger for an HT. You are too young IMO.

Remember, once you start the HT route...you will probably require 3 HT's to get where you will be happy...depending on donor supply and the amount of MPB, even after three HT's you may not be happy. You could be in for a long road.

I also like the idea of cutting very short for now and see how it looks on you.

Try not to let MPB take over you're life. You will be surprised that no one looks at you, or judges you as you may think. You may get the one awipe who has the balding comment, but just let that role off and not bother you...the comments will stop.

At 19, having stress is way off the chart! You have many years ahead for that...trust me, save the stress for later in life.

  6. From the pic's you have posted, looks like you are not in that bad of shape. A good doc will make significant changes for you with just one HT...depending on the goals you have a second may be necessary. The donor LOOKS to be ok..but hard to tell from the pic. Take a few consults with the doc's on this site and....you're head will be out of the hole very soon.

    Good Luck

  7. You will probably need to be at the 2 to 3 month mark to look like you did pre-op. BTW, the scar looks great. Then sit back and watch the growth...since you didn't have much to begin with upfront, you will most likely have a growth period where you don't exactly look natural...as the new boy's grow it will take a couple of months to blend in....IMO.

It will look great at the 5 to 6 month mark...hang in there.

    Good luck

  8. Long Island... don't decide on an HT Doc based on location! The extra $$/time to travel should NOT be a factor here.

Research Doc's, pic's and become informed before making your choice. Dr. Feller was my choice and one that I'm happy with (I'm 3.5 months and looking forward to the next couple of months...things have already improved) ....I went with True in 2004 and have not liked results.

    Take several consults.

    Good luck
