For most of our patients this is true. Once all of the scabs or crusts are gone (within about 10-14 days), it usually looks like you have a crew cut in that area.

The only other consideration, I can think of, would be redness in the transplanted area. Some of our patients who are not able to cover the area with existing hair or a hat, will tell people that their scalp is sunburned (depending on the weather) or that they had to start using a special shampoo that is making their scalp red.

Best of luck with your procedure! Keep us updated.

1.) This is a very good point. As you alluded to, it is quality not cost that counts. Obviously cost does have a role but the bottom line is results. It’s important to find physicians who you feel perform quality work and deliver top notch results. Then you can compare and contrast among them taking price into consideration.

2.) I had not heard of this term, pinpoint hair restoration, before. I did a search on it and it sounds like another term for follicular unit transplanting. One website says "Pinpoint hair restoration transplants your hair exactly as it grows which is in naturally occurring follicular clusters of 1, 2, 3, and 4 hairs at a time". Perhaps someone else can comment on this.

  7. Many of our patients choose to pay for the procedure with a credit card; sometimes two of them. Some prefer this option because they receive rewards for using their card and some banks offer a very low, one year introductory rate.

We also offer financing through Chase Health Advance. We are able to offer up to 24 month interest free options or up to 48 month extended payment options with interest.

For others it’s just a matter of time to save the money for an HT surgery.

  8. I am interested in people’s experiences with Viviscal either taking it personally or clinics who offer it to patients. It is my understanding that it does not re-grow hair, but nourishes existing hair. I’ve heard that it mainly thickens hair and makes the hair (and nails) grow much faster.

Has anyone used Viviscal post HT to speed up growth during the “waiting period”?

    Thank you for your feedback.
