  1. My apologies to all if my initial response came across as promotional. This was not my intention. Kiss asked for other recommendations and more hair mentioned Dr E, so I replied. I believe everyone needs to educate themselves and consult with multiple doctors to be able to make an educated decision. It's that simple......or I thought it was...LOL

FYI: I'm not compensated in any way for posting on this site. It is not part of my responsibilities. I choose to post here because I have 11 years of hair industry experience I feel can be helpful to share with others. I have shared my history in previous posts and I hope to continue to be a useful resource to all.

  2. Dr Feller,

I'm not really sure why you took it personally that I recommend Kiss visit you for a consultation along with other local docs. This is not a competition to me. This kind of childish banter only hurts OUR industry. 1000's of people read these posts and for every one who enjoys reading it there are fifty who are disgusted and exit the site after reading it. You are a talented surgeon but you are not the only talented surgeon on this site. In my opinion, people should have multiple consultations!!

Dr Epstein is a Plastic Surgeon specializing in hair transplants with 14 years of experience. He has performed more than 5000 cases and if people want to see his pictures they can search old threads or visit our website.

  3. Dr Feller,

With all due respect please re-read the thread, Kiss asked about other recommended doctors in the area and More Hair mentioned Dr Epstein. My recommendation was to visit you along with the other doctors mentioned including Dr Epstein and then make an informed decision. If after he consults with a few doctors he elects to have a procedure with you I know he will be in good hands.

  4. Hi Kiss,

Dr Jeffrey Epstein is also a recommended doctor in the NYC area. He will be there next week performing surgery and seeing consultations. Please let me know if you would like to schedule a time to meet with him. I would also meet with the other docs mentioned and this will help you with making an informed decision. Best of luck...

  5. It's best for you to sleep on your back with 3 or 4 pillows under your head. You will want to cover the pillows with a towel because your donor may bleed a little. This is normal. If the back of your head is tender you may want to try an airplane pillow/collar. This can help with taking the pressure off the suture line. Congratulations and happy growing......

BTW: I also had a procedure on Friday with Dr Epstein.

  6. Eric,

I know Dr Holzer. He is a ex Bosley doc. He left Bosley and went into private practice about 8-10 years ago. He joined Hair Club about 3 years ago. He's in the process of moving from NY to San Francisco for Hair Club so he is splitting his time. He is a very nice guy but I would have consultations with Feller, Bernstein, and Epstein. I'm biased to Epstein but you won't go wrong with any of those 3 docs.

  7. Hello richie0910,

I think as you continue to perform your research you will find that Dr Epstein is one of the most respected HT docs on the site and in the industry. As far as hairbank stating he does not have enough staff to perform large cases that is completely inaccurate. Dr Epstein currently has 15 fulltime experienced assistants and will regularly perform 3000-4000 graft cases if that is what the patient needs. There are many of his happy patients that post here (djdennis and more hair come to mind).

BTW....I'm sitting here typing this after having a transplant with Dr Epstein yesterday. This was my 3 procedure (previous were 1997 and 2002) and first with Dr Epstein. I'm preparing a post with pics and surgical summary to come soon, but it was by far the easiest procedure I have had. I had no pain and only took one Aleve before bed. I even felt well enough to go out to dinner in South Miami last night after the procedure. I still can't believe how great I feel today and how good it looks. More to come on me but if you would like a list of patients that you can speak/meet with private message me and I will provide them for you.

Best of luck and I hope to see you in Miami or Tampa soon. Dr Epstein will be in Tampa seeing patients in the next few weeks.

  8. He is correct about the industry being very political but it has come a long way. A forum like this helps with adding transparency to the industry. I would feel comfortable using Dr Friedman along all the above mentioned docs. I have seen him in surgery and viewed his results. He uses all "state of the art" technology. I read in another thread that Bill is trying to find out more about his clinic and they have been playing phone tag. Let's see what he can find out "officially"..... LOL

  9. Hi Kaelen,

I'm new to the forum but not to the industry. You can read about my history here About me. I'm not sure about the banned list but I do believe there are other doctors in the country/world that can provide great results. I think we would be naive to think otherwise. The benefit of going to a coalition member is they are held to a higher standard of patient care, results, and accountability.

With that said, I know Dr Friedman. I have seen him in surgery and viewed his results. He is using all the same techniques as the top guys. He has been around for a long time and helped Matt Leavitt (MHR) get his start. He also worked for Hair Club. That is why he is not very popular here.

I don't know Dr Alexander personally, but I know Nicole in his office. He is a Coalition member so the above mentioned standards and accountability apply. I have seen his pictures and spoke in detail with Nicole about his results. They are impressive. Have you had a consultation with him?

I would also recommend you contact some of the other docs mentioned on this site. Don't let geographic location restrict you. You can email your pictures and then speak with the docs on the phone or via email. More than half of our patients come for out of state/county. I would recommend talking with Hasson and Wong, Shapiro, Epstein, and ect... See who you feel most comfortable with.

I hope that helps. Good luck in your search and let me know if I can help with any other questions.

  10. Hi Dennis,

Thanks and glad to hear things are going well. I just checked your hair blog and things look good for 2 months. Happy growing!! I would like to spend a reasonable amount of time on the site but I have found it to be very addicting. I have never been a member of a forum like this. It's a great ways to communicate, educate, and sometimes have a good laugh. Best of luck.

  11. I had a chance to meet with TTDS last night and take some pictures. With his permission I have posted his progress. I was pleasantly surprised and very optimistic.

Here is a brief recap of his surgical plan:

TTDS has been wearing a hair piece for many years. He has very good density on the sides and back. The plan was to spread the grafts over a larger area than Dr Epstein normally does (front 1/2 - 2/3). He did this knowing he would need an additional procedure for added density. He was not concerned about his crown.

    The results to date:

Based on my visit and the pictures I would estimate he has about 70% growth at this time. This is well within the normal range especially since he had been sleeping with his hair piece on 3-4 nights a week. He also has a bunch of new hair sprouting up. This was very encouraging.

    Summary:

TTDS has agreed to not sleep with his hair system and we will continue to track his progress.
