  1. NeedHair75, you stated that "The ones listed aren't giving me the feeling that they're the best."

I respectfully ask as to why you feel this way about the Chicago doctors? Have you interviewed any of the docs?

I had my transplants done by Dr. Konior. My hair looks great and I couldn't be happier.

I had 1050 grafts and you can view my five and seven month updates here. Good Luck!

  2. I agree. With the advent of the Internet and having so much info at your fingertips, there should be no excuse for someone to be deceived like this.

In the early nineties, I started to lose my hair and I walked into a couple of "hair clinics". I knew absolutely nothing about hair loss, but when they tried to sell me snake oil, I ran out the door.

I can understand being young and desperate, but this kid should go with his gut, not with what his mom is telling him.

The young guy who goes through the hair transplant procedure seems to have a more interesting story. I don't know how he's going to feel in five years---when he has lost even more hair.

  3. Hey Everyone,

I was watching a show on MTV called, "True Life". This episode highlighted two young guys who were in the process of losing their hair.

The first guy is in his early twenties and really doesn't know what to do about his hair loss. His mother found out that "fungus" can lead to hair loss so she took him to a homeopathic doctor. I don't want to give away too much, but the "doctor" has some interesting things to say. I feel sorry for this guy because he's probably going to spend a lot of time and money being deceived by so called experts in the field.

The second guy is in his mid twenties and it looks like he's on his way to losing a lot of hair on the top of his head. He consults with a dermatologist who performs hair transplants and decides to go through with the procedure. My limited knowledge is telling me that this guy, based on his future hair loss, is too young for a procedure right now.

I found this video pretty interesting. I would like to hear what everyone else thinks about this episode. I uploaded the video on YouTube. Here are the links:

  4. Hey Guys,

On 11-28-07, I had 1050 grafts transplanted by Dr. Raymond Konior.

It's been five months and everything is going well. To be truthful, and I hope that I don't sound like a huckster, I'm pretty blown away by the results so far. The density that I've achieved at this point is beyond my expectations. It feels great to be able to part my hair on the side and feel confident that it will look good. I no longer have to be concerned about styling my hair in a certain way for it to look presentable.

You can view my photo album Here.

I have to take my hat off to Dr. Konior and his staff. They made me feel comfortable before, during, and after my procedure. I look forward to more growth in the future.

This website has proved to be an invaluable resource and I'd like to say thanks to all of the contributors.

Back in the mid 90's, I received about 500 mini/micro-grafts from a local dermatologist. Based on the technology of the time, I feel he did a good job. I wasn't given a great deal of density, but the transplants that I received allowed me to style my hair in a way that I was able to mask the thinning.

    Hey Guys,

I'd like to thank everyone who replied to my original post.

04-28-08 Update: At the five month mark, I've noticed that my transplanted hair has really started to grow and thicken. I'm very impressed with the density and growth that I have achieved at this point. The veteran members of this message board are correct; it takes at least six months to show early results and twelve months before determining the final result. I look forward to more growth in the future.

I've added pics of my growth at five months.
