  1. I'd been on Proscar and regaine foam for 2 years with good results. Hair was thicker and hair loss stopped.

I then decided to give Proscar a break, "cleanse my body" and maybe reduce drug intolerance. About 1 month after stopping, hairs started shedding big time.

I quickly went back on proscar and it took well over another month before the sheds slowed.

For me, stopping Proscar was not a good experience.

  2. Any guys who've had a HT, can you post your hairwash regimen during the 6 months delicate/growing time post-HT.

I'm 2 mths post HT and currently only using a mild shampoo as a daily wash. Do u think this is sufficient? any suggestions?

    Proscar 1.25mg - daily for 3mths

Rogaine foam - twice daily for 1mth

    Johnsons baby shampoo = daily

  3. Brandnew,

Absolutely, it would be absurd to suggest he manages to cover up all bad patients using legal threats. The fact that so many victims manages to post their results openly is testiment to this. Chanyouzhe is the latest one:

    Pats205(Eric),

You should somehow respond to chanyouzhe emails. The poor guy's got a horrendous result and you guys are totally ignoring him. Your job title is patients care, its the least you can do.

  4. John, i feel your frustration and hope things improve.

You mentioned your first HT was June 08 and you're now 5.5 months post 2nd HT. Which basically means you had the 2nd HT around March 09.

Was it not an issue that you only had around 8 months growing time from the 1st HT before embarking on a 2nd one?

Was 8mths sufficient for the nerve damage to heal completely, before operating on the same area again, considering it normally takes at least 12months for grafted hair to fully grow and heal.

I guess you should be a little patient since the area has subjected to 2 operations within a shortish period and a bit more healing time then normal should be expected.

  5. Vincehair,

I was in the same shoes about 6 months ago. In the end i chose strip with a coalition clinic here and I'm now 6 weeks post-op and waiting for results to come along.

Do your research. Independent forums will give you more balanced info then sites paid/sponsored by clinics.

I came to the conclusion that there were just too many inconsistent results of yield from FUE and in the end chose strip. I have seen great results from fue, but on the whole the lack of yield issue was the deciding factor for me. I could not afford to start the HT trail, have a new hairline after an HT and bad density around it. Not only a waste of donor/money/time but also the emotional stress of going thru another HT to fix something that should have have been done first time round.

Regarding bad donor strips, i found that they mainly fall into 2 categories, surgeries done many years ago and bad doctors.

Remember, do you research and good luck with your plans.

  6. chanyouzhe,

Are you taking any medication? Preprecia? Rogaine? and what is you age?

You seem to be losing native hair which together with a less then ideal FUE yield is showing a bad result.

Your priority right now is really to slow down the loss. Depending on your age, i would think carefully and do a lot of research before doing another HT until your hairloss/diffuse thining has stablised.

  7. By all means eat well and have a balanced diet. But if dieting was such a big factor, then surely third world countries with malnutrition issues will have only bald men walking around.

I've been to places like Inner Mongolia and India where their daily staple diets are not exactly full of "veg and fruits" and the men's hairloss are no worse then western ones.
