    @zenmu,

There is always a possibility of a hair shed when making a change to your hair loss treatment regimen.  That said, I would also suggest speaking to a physician before adding/upgrading to dutasteride from finasteride.  I’m also under the opinion and belief that if something is working, don’t change it. In other words, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.  So I don’t know the reasons for wanting to add dutasteride to your regimen are, but it’s always wise and advisable to speak to a doctor before adding any prescription medication.

    I hope this helps.

Well, in my case finasteride has lost its effectiveness after 15 years, even earlier, so I am thinking taking the dutasteride route.

I would advice you stay away from them but that's just my personal experience

I had tremendous side effects with their bottles.

Try Liposomal at a lower dose and once a week, that's my 0.2

Thanks, can you please clarify the side effects and how often you used? Daily or weekly?

I don't think it makes a difference as long as it doesn't have any penetration enhancement (like Minoxidilmax)

Strut is a good source in the US.

Just make sure you avoid MinoxidilMax

Hi, so unfortunately I ordered duderma before reading this thread. The process however was really smooth and with delivery to Europe in 5 days, with no taxes. Also I ordered the free item as new customer, paid for another one, both duderma and shipping expenses. I am 5 months after my last HT. Should I avoid it as it contains penetration enhancement?

Is any member using it or has used it, to provide some feedback?

    Is that really a thing?

I inquired about an appointment late last year, and the info regarding booking is what ultimately made me not do it.

For the "only Kostis"-package I was quoted 2,9€ per graft if I booked before the end of 2022. 50% of the total procedure cost would have to be put down as a down payment - which apparently was non-refundable, even of the surgery was cancelled from their side. (that's what I was told).

I would have had to stretch financially for the total cost, but the way the down payment was presented seemed too risky for me.

If the 2,5€ package is a thing I'd 100% try to change from what I have booked now. I have a good idea of the design is want and the work by Kostis that I've seen looks basically the same as Bisangas.

Well I had an op with Dr. B on late 2022. The advance was 30% of the price agreed, and fully refundable if cancelled by the clinic. However, the quoted cost for graft was 5 euros but not in Belgium but in Athens. Dr. B made the FUE extraction and the incisions. Placement only by hair techs.

  5. Anyone out there with experience combining Caffeine shampoo (Alpecin or N2 shampoo) with Rogaine ?

Hi, I did combine Alpecin with Rogaine around three years ago. I used both until the finished and then I reverted to my regular shampoo together with Nizoral 2%.

I have not noticed anything during the months I combined them. As a shampoo Alpecin was decent, VFM.

  6. Haha, good call there!

Stamos, would love to see some pics man. I would have to say that my hair wouldn't look great unless I styled it a bit in the morning - the same could be said for when I was in high school. In fact, I now spend about 5-10 minutes every morning applying a little concealer here and a little aveda grooming clay there (of course that is before my hair was shaved for my last procedure). And making the best out of transplanted hair certainly requires good/strategic styling. But like Ahairdown says, it's not a bad problem to have! :D

Thanks for replies. aaron how do you keep all day the style that you give your hair in the morning?

  7. Hello,

I had a couple of old bad HT and a couple of repair sessions with Dr. Shapiro.

My result has not been finalized yet, more than a year, as I still see small frizzy hair but there is a significant change.

My concern is that although the repair sessions succeeded, my hair do not look good always. Shortly after I wash them or brush them they look better, but after some time of various activities, especially if sweating, I have a messy hair look, as they do not remain brushed and look unnatural, because I keep them long for more coverage.

If I use a product to hold the hair in place, after a while the look greasy. The best condition is shortly after I damp and brush.

  8. TheEmperor, I am sorry that you didn't end up with the result you would like.

My comments, since I am also a HT (repair) patient, as follows:

Whilst your result isn't optimal in terms of thickness and fullness, it is not unnatural for the HT industry standards. Unfortunately almost all doctors that stating that their result are natural under ALL CIRCUMSTANCES are partially lying regarding HT patients with advanced nw scale.

At open windy environments I think any result will not look natural, as the styling of a HT patient with high NW scale coverage will include a combover (in order to hide thinning areas like crown) and that combover will not stand at the wind. Especially with long hair, front to back combover it will be more obvious. Usually you will see single grafted frizzy long hair from the hairline to look weird at the forehead, except if you have put some much styling aid that it will stand on high beaufort scale.

Another occasion that a HT will not look natural is under heavy sweat, where again the styling will not remain in place and the single hair will look odd and frizzy on the forehead.

Finally, I think that all hair transplants on high NW scale patients will look seethrough under harsh light and therefore detected from persons with a degree of knowledge/experience about HTs.

But I do not think you will have to worry about these, as there are really few people that can detect a HT refined as yours, especially I will be surprised if a female can detect (except if she's related to HT in someway)

Are you using any styling product? I think that the "middle parted" look from your blog should be avoided.

  9. Stamos, what do you mean that SMG gave you an ugly haircut? Did they try to give you a good looking trim before the procedure and butchered it, or was it a trim that was supposed to help them during the procedure and not intended to be aesthetically pleasing?

Also, how is your donor scar shaping up?

    Thanks!

Hi Rhino, by ugly haircut I mean that the hairs were not in the same length, the ones in the hairline where the most grafting occurred were very short, some others were long. They didn't trim it prior to procedure, the doc used scissors just before the incisions. At the end I had short to very short hair at the recipient area, but it was much better than shaved.

Donor scar: I went twice to smg, but had previous work long time ago at Greece, so I am a repair patient. The smg's scar is excellent and hard to find, but on my 2nd procedure the doc also revised my previous scar from Greece which was awful. Now I have one long scar from ear to ear. The part of the scar that has been revised (on the center) is not as thin as the scar on the sides. I don't know why.

  10. Multiplier, your question was the decisive factor for me. Its up to each individual way of living, but I really couldn't wear a hat for months. I went to Dr Shapiro for this reason and I have not regret it. Although he gave me an ugly haircut, I was able to go to work 10-15 days later. Especially after my second procedure which was relatively small, I accompanied my daughter at a party a week later and nobody noticed anything, as far as I can tell. My result isn't bad at all, but it hasn't finalized yet, so I could post final pictures.
